Dos Si Dos - First Report

itwasntme Hello my dear friends with the green thumb, this is my first report so please be nice :). About a week ago, I lightly sanded the Dos Si Dos 33 seed from Barneys, soaked it in water, and then germinated it using the paper towel method. After three days, I placed the seedling in rock wool, where it has since been misted every half hour for fifteen minutes. For nutrients, I will be following the Canna plan from the Aqua series, but I will double the amounts over time. For lighting, I initially use an older Mars Hydro, which gives nice short internodes; during the growth phase, I will switch to the q4w from Sanlight. For the tent, I use a HYDROSHOOT HS60 with a size of 60cm x 60cm and a height of 180cm. The walls are reinforced with additional poles. The whole setup is open and covered with a theater molton. Ventilation is provided by a PK 100-L fan from Primaklima, which is of course throttled. Currently, it runs at 105V. Additionally, there is a clip fan inside. Friends, are you still there? itwasntme Hello friends, A lot has happened since last week, so I definitely want to share it with you. Our little superhero has grown a lot, and every day you can see a few more millimeters. The spacing is about 1-2cm. The roots have grown like fishbones and now reach about 20cm into the nutrient solution. The only thing giving me a headache is a slight curling of the leaves, which I can't explain so far. Maybe it has to do with the high temperature of the nutrient solution. I guess I'll need to get a better air pump. I've finally replaced the good old Mars Hydro with the Sanlight, which has a better efficiency; I think our little darling will like it :-). itwasntme Hello friends, How was your week? How are you doing? My week was very exciting! Our little Marvel is doing well and has really grown into a little bush. After I set the pH of the nutrient solution a bit too low at the beginning of the week, she started to complain right away. But superheroes don’t adapt to their environment; the environment adapts to the superhero! The pH quickly rose to 6.5 and is now back in the 6.2 range. She’s doing well again. Friends, I count over five nodes and think she’s old enough to go to the Avengers Academy. You know what? I'm just going to start training her right now. I’ll top her above the third node and remove everything below. Done, doesn’t our Marvel look super? Guys, that’s it from my side again, have an exciting weekend and we’ll catch up again in a week. itwasntme Hello friends, It's the weekend again and it's time for a new entry :)). Our Marvel has passed the first week of training. It was a very exhausting week and I pushed our superhero to the limit. After starting the mainlining and topping last week, I began tying down the branches. During this process, one of the main branches snapped and broke halfway due to the pressure. Luckily, it has healed somewhat. This happened again with one of the eight side branches, hope that will heal too. Aside from that, everything is nicely tied down and has grown symmetrically. Everything is at the same height, flat as a table. I topped it one last time, so from now on I will leave it alone and hopefully grass will grow over it soon :-)).

Our little Marvel seems to be doing great at least :) The conditions are all as usual, so she has recovered well after the training, the roots are nice and white, the stem is thick, and the branches are nicely arranged in a circle. itwasntme Hello friends, Trick or treat! Our Marvel has made incredible growth this week. Unbelievable! I just left her alone and she grew a whole 20cm. Now I hope she doesn't get too big. I assume she will grow twice as big during the flowering phase. If she gets bigger, I'm going to have a problem. By the end of the week, she was sweating a lot, resulting in the EC jumping to 2.2 and the pH over 7. The tips of the leaves have turned yellow. I changed the water and hope the problem is resolved. This will be the last week of the vegetative phase. I removed all the large fan leaves and will now initiate the flowering phase. Stay healthy, friends, and happy Halloween!
