I reused most of the stuff from my previous setup, but now with a bigger tent and with 2 girls in it. 😎 # Ventilation ######### I have a 100mm, 150 m3/h (practical capacity), 165 m3/h (technical capacity) carbon filter, paired with a 100mm, 2 speed motor, 150 m3/h, 180 m3/h, in-line circular duct fan. The fan is set to the slower, 150 m3/h speed, so it doesn't sucks more air than the filter can support and so no smell bypasses. Air inlet is bigger, 125mm, so the extractor fan is not overwhelmed. Air and light filtration is done with the usage of a black pantyhose, perfect for the job, but must be cleaned regularly. Air circulation assured by silent, big airflow, PC case fans. # Medium ####### My medium is coco + clay pebbles. 4-5 cm layer of clay pebbles at the bottom of the pot, beside the Autopot filters. Added enough clay pebbles to ~12l of coco so that it could fully fill both 8.5l pots. I used coco bricks and this time I also added CalMag to the water when flushed, as it's recommended that way. I didn't add nutrients, only just a little around the girls after planting them. # Nutrients ######## Hesi Coco Starterbox. Going to start with half strength, cuz AUTO, except the Root Complex, PowerZyme and CalMag. Because of my tap water's alkalinity, I adjusted the PH to the lower end, as I had PH problems and iron deficiency in my previous grow. # Irrigation ######## I'm using the "Autopot - 2 pot system kit" from my very first grow from 6 years ago (no diary about that). I'm hand watering at the beginning though, as recommended by Autopot, until the girls establish. 😁 # Lighting ####### Started out with CFLs, because autumn is here already and the additional heat helps, while also hard to burn them this way. 😉 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

I needed to wait a whole week until the coco dried out enough to water the girls again. This was expected given that I started them out in their final spot. At first I thought that the nutrient problem is because I didn't flush with added nutrients at the beginning, but the runoff water came out with lower PH than expected. It didn't rain for quite a while and I observed when experimenting with alkalinity that the tap water's PH climbs higher much faster when it rains than when it doesn't. Maybe that's the cause 😅 Anyway, at the next watering I'm going to adjust the PH higher and see if that tackles the problem. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Upgraded the lighting, which is much cooler now. 😎 # Day 16 ###### As can be seen, the Bubblelicious takes up more water and dries out quicker. I'm also quite sure that the lower than expected root zone PH causes the current problems, as I followed the progression of the problems and they seem to get better over time. # Day 18 ###### Time for some Low Stress Training, yaay! 👏💪 Still not watered yet, but maybe will need to water the Bubblelicious first and not both of them at the same time. After the next watering session I guess I can start using the Autopot system, we will see. While trained I got my hands "dirty", but oh boy, they smelled amazing! 😍 I already can sense some strawberry and bubblegum. I'm really excited as we smoked something very similar at my first ever smoke session. That is, it didn't even smelled like weed lol, just strawberry. Don't even mention that I got higher than a satellite. My goal is to do a remake with my buddies this new year's eve, it's going to be a great surprise. 👽 # Day 20 ###### Needed to LST this vigorous babe before the watering. PH should be fine now around ~6.0 (without added Root Complex though). Disturbed the top of the coco, so the mystic mold got eradicated (at least for now). 💪 # Day 22 ###### Got the light bumped up at around ~60-70% strength. 😎 (my eyes hurt after taking photos, even with polarized and UV protective sunglasses) Dehumidifier from now is ON, as I needed to close the window anyway because of the cold and continuous raining. I hope we don't end up with too high PH again because of alkalinity, as it rained a lot these days. I observed that the alkalinity may be higher after raining, we will see if that is the case. 😅 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

# Day 26 ###### The pot felt quite light, plus some drooping and nutrient problems appeared, so it was time for watering again. Everything went well, except the runoff PH, that is, from ~6.0 PH in, we got ~5.7 PH out. I poured ~8 liters of water with nutrients, the final 2 liters without added PH down, i.e., it was around ~6.3 PH. Runoff water still was at PH 5.6. I'm worried, because at the beginning we had around ~5.6 PH and it caused problems so.. 😑 I don't get it, after the first watering PH was right. With the same schedule and nutrients (at half strength) the PH was right from the beginning until the end in my previous grow (2nd grow ever). Now this happens.. 😵 Flushing and checking EC/PH takes a lot of time, all for nothing. I can't even start the Autopot system like this.. Now I'm just pissed, all the hard work just to get nowhere again. What do I do so wrong? At my first grow ever I made much more mistakes, had a worse setup and still managed way better than this, I don't get it.. 😫 😤 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

What am I doing so wrong here? Using fresh tap water. PH should go up because of alkalinity (like in my previous, 2nd grow ever). Same nutrients, same schedule, but bigger pot this time. Do I need to lose this much time flushing in the future? 😵

The PH pen calibrated- do it once a week.

First thing is to recalibrate your pH meter and remeasure. You should also be measuring your EC. Most cases, your best course of action is keep feeding between 6.5-6.8 with lightly fertilized water. I'm guessing your medium is too hot, but you dont want to risk starving her either. I would feed at about 400-500ppms until everything stabilizes. When the EC of the runoff hits the level you want (probably 700-900ppms), you can raise the feed to that level. If the runoff ppms start going up, lower your nutes a little. If the runoff ppms start going down, raise your nute levels. Pay close attention to this and you'll always be spot on for feed strength if we assume you're using the correct ratios.

I started reading some books, plus some other online articles and guides, as it seemed that I exhausted all my existing resources. Even though I had with that knowledge a successful grow under my belt, I still struggled now and constantly had problems. I needed answers fast and to patch up my existing knowledge, as I’m dealing with autos here. 💪 I was very busy reading in my free time after work, so that’s why I’m quite late with the updates, but here we are! 🙌 I learned that I can’t really automate things (mainly watering with the AutoPot system) without some experimentation and gaining more experience first. Growing it’s not that easy and simple, as I was let to believe from my previous knowledge resources.. 😒 Note that even this way, I got conflicting information from the several resources, so that’s why everyone’s own experimentation comes into play also! 👊 I like reading books (also using Audible a lot recently), as it’s like when you are baked. You have several floating ideas in your head, but not quite connected yet. Then boom, a big bang, new connections and suddenly new ideas begin to take form, a lot of things start to make sense, just amazing! 👽 I learned many awesome things and also gained knowledge about the science behind the scenes, which really helps a lot to see the bigger picture, as I’m new to gardening in general. Now I have a lot more expertise about how to grow in coconut coir, about the importance of EC and how to manage it properly, that is, how to fertigate properly and how to keep things in balance, while also getting feedback from the plant itself. I’m going to include a Table of Contents about my findings too, so stay tuned! 👻 # Day 29 - 30 ######### Did not fertigate yet, as I didn’t know yet how to continue. Was busy reading and following how she is doing. The wilting stopped in the meantime and needed to LST the new growth, but the deficiencies and some drooping continued to persist. 😴 💤 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

# Day 32 - 36 ######### Finally finished some of the researching and experimentation, yaay! 🙌 PH and EC meters are cleaned and re-calibrated, even though they were in a good shape and within range, as I’m taking care of them well. Ordered new and threw away some of the old nutrients, as they had some salt precipitate in them, most probably affecting the NER (Nutrient Element Ratio), which is not ideal. 😒 Flushed and started high frequency (daily) fertigation at 25% nutrient strength (instead of the initial 50%) and going to gradually working upwards the root zone EC, following and noting everything in the meantime, just like until now, hehe. 😉 Note: Never flush coco coir with plain or only CalMag water, as you upset the buffering and also shock the plant, especially an auto! 💀 Run-off PH is at limit, between 5.3 and 5.5, but she seems alright, so I’m not really worried about it, as input fertigation PH is between 6.1 and 6.2. 👍 Also adding CalMag before nutes, as I realized that I didn’t do the coco buffering quite right at the beginning. Starting with 50% strength initially, not to upset the EC too much, then 100% strength within a few days. 👏 Note that the Boost (25%) and PowerZyme (100%) nutrients are added only twice weekly. PowerZyme at full strength for the complete effect, as it doesn’t really affects the EC (just like the RootComplex, but which is not needed now). 💪 The result is some new, vigorous and green growth with some trichomes, beside the existing deficiencies, as you can see on the pictures, awesome! 👽 Not going to defoliate and remove any leaves, just in case it’s more than 50% damaged, as we need all the possible green now! 😈 # Day 38 - 41 ######### Now this is a nice green bounce back, she seems to doing much better, yaay! 🙌 Added some more ventilation at the top, as we start to step into a quite nice flowering from now on. 😈 Started to include the the PK 13/14 nutrient too in the meantime. Initially at 25% strength, but at the end of the week bumped all main nutrients up to 37.5% (Coco, PK and Boost)! 😲 For an input fertigation EC of 820 uS we get a run-off EC about ~480 uS. It was lower every time from the beginning of high frequency (daily) fertigation, but recently started to climb a little. As a side note, you can see the Strawberry Gum doing quite well too in the corner. 😍 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

# Day 43 ###### Started the week with 37.5% main nutrients strength overall, but in the meantime we needed to bump it up to 50%, as the run-off EC was still declining otherwise day after day. It seems we are on track, as the main cola is getting mouthwatering! 😍 # Day 45 - 46 ######### I have some nice, 60X zoom trichomes shots for you today, but stay tuned, as some 150X zoom shots are going to come in the upcoming days! 👽 We have some bushy green growth in the interior, as well as many more trichomes, so the light intensity is bumped up to 80-85% strength from now on. I’m also curious how the Strawberry Gum takes this change. 😎 For an input fertigation EC of 1100 uS we get a run-off EC about ~690 uS. Still lower than input, but hopefully it continues to climb up. 👆 # Table of Contents ############## Here is a collection of the most useful materials I recently encountered, check them out! 😉 👌 Cannabis Grow Books recommended by Sensi Seeds ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://sensiseeds.com/en/blog/top-6-cannabis-grow-books/ 1.
