Hello and welcome to everyone who's visiting this diary.
Very excited about this one because it's the first time that I will start indoor from seed. I got two other indoor diaries ongoing but they were started outdoor on a shady balcony and it shows.
So I'm quite curious to see how it goes.
Sowing:
Used the Easy Start kit from RQS, very easy, sprouted 3 days later.
Transplanting:
I filled up the 11L pot with equal parts peat moss, compost and perlite. I added 50 grams of Easy Boost Organic Nutrition by RQS.
very lowkey week, nothing much to do so far and nothing much happened.
Found some bugs on the other plants I brought from outdoor so I sprayed a bit a neem oil on the top soil and leaves of this one too to prevent any disaster.
Growing slowly but surely.
Can't wait to see how she turns out to be. I have great hopes for this one because it's the first I will grow indoor from start to finish.
It's growing super fast and the topping didn't seem to phase her at all.
Fed it with one Easy grow booster tablet.
Noticed there were a few thrips which I removed by hand but I will have to use a more radical solution soon. I'll probably use neem oil since it's not flowering yet.
Explosive growth this week, I have high hopes for this Purple Queen.
I thoroughly sprayed the whole plant and soil with neem oil to get rid of the thrips. I might need to do it again soon, some of them are still alive (damn thrips).
And also it started flowering, which is nice.
It grew a bit bigger this week. I will most likely do one plant only next time since my 2x2 is getting crowded. Good thing the other one is so small.
I gave it a light feeding this week, I noticed lower leaves were turning yellow and falling off.
Thorough neem oil spraying again, the thrips do not seem to care and it looks like they decided to stay.
I removed some lower branches and a few bigger leaves to facilitate air circulation.
It's still growing nicely and except for the thrips that I can't eradicate no matter how many times I spray the whole plant with neem oil, everything is going well.
If anyone knows an efficient way to deal with thrips, feel free to share 🙏
Seems like the thrip population is decreasing. Maybe the neem oil is starting to work.
Otherwise it has been a worry-free week. The plant is growing beautifully and the bud sites are getting bigger (even starting to notice some hints of purple here and there).
I've done a bit of defoliation this week and I removed tiny branches at the bottom that I know would have produced only pop corn buds.
Everything is going well, the plant is still growing nicely and buds are getting heavier.
I'm really starting to see the purple colour on the buds, looks very nice.
Chill week, all I do is admire the growth.
The buds are getting a nice purple shade. We can’t really see it on the pictures, which is a shame.
Smelling really nice.
Overall I was nicely surprised by this strain, it really exceeded my expectations in terms of growth. It grew big, handled the topping really well and the purplish buds looked beautiful.
Only downside, unfortunately I had to leave home unexpectedly so I had to chop it off a bit earlier than what I would have liked. Oh well, I’ll try again next time.
Once again, great strain from Royal Queen Seeds. 💪
Its a delicious strain to vape, nice fruity/flowery flavour that you'll enjoy in the evening.
