deFharo New grow to add some color to autumn!! Third colorful strain for this season!! I'm continuing with indica-dominant strains (30% Sativa/70% Indica), this time a variety from Zamnesia with a very interesting cross, Black Domina x Purple Kush, which promises potency (THC: 22%) and color with Kush flavors. The flowering period is between 7 and 8 weeks, and if all goes well, I hope to harvest in 13-14 weeks. The seed germinated in 48h soaked in a honey and auxin solution, I transplanted it to a 1L air-pot at 36h and I plan to keep it here for at least 4 weeks. So far, I’ve only watered it with water since the substrate has inoculated microorganisms that will activate with moisture. Greetings to everyone!! Until next time!! 😇

deFharo Three weeks of life for this seedling, it's clearly establishing itself in its pot, and for this coming week, I expect significant growth as the roots will reach the entire pot. For now, it looks strong and healthy. I maintain the moisture in the pot only with rainwater. The strain already shows its wide leaves indicating indica dominance, at least I will wait two more weeks for the transplant to its final pot, I want a good root system, I hope the small air-pot helps with this. Water consumption is increasing, this week I applied a watering for the inoculation of MM and minerals to the substrate that will promote root expansion and nutrient assimilation. deFharo Fifth week, transplant week!! The seedling was already asking for a pot change, and I gave it one. In this case, a 7L fabric pot. I soaked the original 1L pot well before the transplant; when buried, the excess moisture will transfer to the surrounding substrate and promote root growth. I added homemade auxin powder in the hole to boost the growth of secondary roots. I added mulch from two harvested pots; this organic matter is already inoculated with microorganisms, just like the substrate from the original pot. The plant was already consuming the capacity of the small 1L pot daily. Last week, I focused on watering for the inoculation of MM into the substrate and providing auxin hormones. deFharo Sixth week of life and one in its final pot, the plant is establishing itself without problems, there has been visible growth, and the plant looks healthy, compact, and lush. Today I did an Apical Cut above the 5th node, in the coming weeks, preparing for the transition to flowering, I will be shaping the grow as the lateral branches gain prominence and become stronger. Water consumption is high and increasing, a good sign of a healthy root system. This week's waterings have been 3 and gentle, mainly aimed at inoculating Mountain Microorganisms (MM) in the substrate that help with the solubilization of minerals and nutrients in the substrate and also contribute to creating a strong root system. I continue to take the plant out into the November sun after 13 hours in the grow cabinet to maximize growth without additional electrical costs. That's it for this week. deFharo Seventh week, there is growth but slow, the plant has become sturdier, but I think the apical cut didn't sit well with it, I don't mind the slow growth as long as the plant stays healthy and compact like this, in the end, it's just about extending the vegetative growth period a bit more to bring a bushier plant to flowering with better performance in photosynthesis. Water consumption is moderate, a sign that the root system still needs to develop, this coming week I will focus on boosting root growth with auxins and Activated Microorganisms (MMA). This week I did a watering to invigorate the crop and enhance vegetative growth, I used a solution of my Enzymatic Hydrolyzed animal protein (amino acids) with my Pumpkin and carrot Biol with MMA. deFharo Ninth week of life and it seems like the plant is coming out of the trance with the pure water diet I'm giving it. Clear signs of Mg deficiency in the first leaves, both young and old, also burns on a couple of leaves, both signs of nutrient absorption blockage in the substrate, which has become the main suspect. I also know this because I reused this same substrate from my failed LA Confidential grow, with similar signs. I've had these same symptoms recurrently in all my recent failed grows, and the diagnosis was always wrong. I thought it was a deficiency, and by giving nutrients, I blocked more and more. Now I think I'm on the right track; all the new leaves look healthy and growth is coming back with vigor. The magnesium deficiency symptoms are not due to a lack of the component but to a blockage in the roots' absorption capacity, hence the burns that started appearing on the large leaves. I trust my organic substrates, even if it's too enriched like this one; I will dissolve the organic components of the substrate and thus unblock the roots only with water until I see signs of real deficiencies, if they appear. Today I tied some branches and the two tops to slow down vertical growth, shape the plant, but above all this time to redirect the energy of the colas. I've noticed that these ties stimulate the plant. This week, water consumption has increased, also a sign of unblocking and root proliferation. For now, I'm only watering with mountain water (EC: 0.22, Ca, Mg, Si, Fe...) with the pH adjusted to 6.5 with apple cider vinegar. Greetings to all marijuana growers!! 😃

deFharo Once weeks of life from seed, the cultivation is progressing slowly. This week I continued watering with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) to help consume the excess organic matter from the substrate. The foliage has become denser, and the height has barely changed compared to last week. I’m not displeased with this as it guarantees that the plant is handling the compaction very well. It will be a great bulbous-structured plant with good branches. Just yesterday, I did a nutrient watering to boost vegetative growth. I used my enzymatic hydrolyzed animal protein (Amino Acids, Ca, P...) along with my fruit biol with minerals, MMA, and BAL. Today the new shoots were standing upright, pushing to grow more and more. Water consumption is increasing, and the new leaves are growing very healthy... there are hopes of improving this crop. Due to lack of space, I still can’t move the plant to a flowering light cabinet, so this week I’m going to reduce the light schedule to 13 hours until there’s a free spot for this girl!! deFharo 12 weeks of life, three of flowering. This week the plant is showing good growth, the foliage has become denser and pre-flowering has begun, water consumption is increasing day by day, and the issues with nutrient lockout from the very enriched substrate have disappeared after a watering diet of just water or Activated Mountain Microorganisms to dissolve the leftover organic matter from the substrate. This week I did a watering with rainwater (EC: 0.022, PH: 7) for all the crops, and they all showed a significant increase in water consumption, which is a clear sign of the health of the root system for me. I will continue this week with gentle waterings to keep promoting root health. I only did one low-concentration nutrient watering (EC: 08) with my fruit lacto-ferment and 1% NPK nutrients, Lacto-ferment of algae with Efficient Microorganisms (MMA, BAL, Vitamins, minerals...) at 1.25%, and Ormus to provide Magnesium and raise the PH by 0.5%. - I think the transition from vegetative growth to flowering represents a big hormonal change for the plant, so I’m not going to feed it until it starts showing flowers... basically, I’m letting it chill through the tough phase of its adolescence. On day 78 of cultivation, I added a mix of the top substrate, mulch, and roots from other harvested crops to fill the pot to the brim. This way, I’m making an important contribution of organic matter at the top, also from the microorganisms it contains, and the chopped roots carry mycorrhizal spores. By gaining about 4cm of soil, I also promote the creation and maintenance of adventitious roots at the top of the substrate. In short, I’m happy with the evolution of this crop. This week I moved the plant to a transition cabinet in terms of light spectra (4000k, 3000K, FS, and UVA-B). I use a UVA-B light bulb (280-315-400nm) in this cabinet that helps strengthen the branches and create trichomes; UV rays are stronger in mountain crops and also help eliminate pathogenic fungi on the leaves. deFharo Three months of life for this plant, the growth continues to be vigorous, the plant has already overcome all the initial stress, multiple flowering buds have started to appear all over the branches, and the overall appearance is very healthy. This week I detected spider mites on two plants, I isolated both plants after treating them, and with this crop, I've started a prevention strategy. On day 86, I sprayed the plant with soluble sulfur to prevent the proliferation of fungi, which I've also suffered from. On day 90, I sprayed the plant with Neem oil and potassium soap, and soon I will make an application with horsetail to repel attacks. Let's see if I can preserve the crop, as I need to free up space in my cabinets to disinfect them. In the meantime, I trust I can keep this plant and others not affected healthy. The plant has a good level of water consumption, which could be higher, but I think the stress from overly enriched substrate has hindered the normal development of the roots. For more than two weeks, the only waterings have been with microorganisms to dissolve the extra nutrients from the substrate and free the roots for maximum absorption. deFharo Fifth week of flowering, the plant keeps growing while the flowers pop up everywhere!! With this plant, I continue with very light diets with MM inoculation due to the blockage in the first weeks from using a substrate that was too rich or poorly enriched. So far, the plant is responding very well, and although the water consumption is optimal, I expect much more; I think the root system didn't develop as it should have. I keep this crop isolated in a room and cabinet that are safe from pests, and I'm also doing preventive treatments against fungi and spider mites based on sulfur and diatomaceous earth. The cabinet where this plant is located is getting small; I hope to move it to my high-performance cabinet by the end of this week... first, I need to harvest and disinfect. This week, I'm using a preparation that I've kept in anaerobic fermentation for nine months since I made it, Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) in liquid form. These microorganisms come from various forests in the area, unlike my other MMA preparation, which is from a single forest. This way, I ensure a greater diversity of MM. deFharo Sixth week of flowering, 105 days of life from seed. This week the cultivation has progressed little. A lot of cold and a problematic nutrient with excess potassium that has slightly blocked growth; I'm remedying it by watering with pure water until the runoff eliminates the excess of this mineral. Some upper leaves are turning reddish, I don't know if I should be worried. The leaves are currently stained with diatomaceous earth, and overall it gives the plant a dirty appearance; I won't apply it since flowers are popping up everywhere. I think the plant is asking for another growing space, with more light and heat; I hope to install it in my best cabinet next week to see where this strain goes; for now, I'm focused on cleaning the roots. I should have done waterings with fewer nutrients this week, although this plant has few signs of excess potassium, and I've kept the substrate alive with microorganisms and little else due to the overly enriched initial substrate that also threatened the crop with blockage... in both cases, I'm going to get out of this jam with pure rainwater. deFharo 13/01/21 I’ve discovered red spider mites on this plant despite having treated it preventively with neem oil, diatomaceous earth, and soluble sulfur, and despite being isolated in a cabinet... damn!! deFharo Week 17, a tragic week for the grow, the red spiders have returned, voracious and determined to mess with me and Kalini Asia!! 😖 despite having spent a whole month doing various preventive treatments on the leaves with diatomaceous earth, soluble sulfur, or neem oil, and despite being isolated in a separate cabinet, none of this has stopped them... it's total war!! 😡 because the plant shows a multitude of floral buds and a lot of strength in the stem, it's worth fighting for its survival. 🙂 The plant has been showing weakness and wilting of leaves, which first turn purple, for at least two weeks, but a few days ago I saw bite marks on several small, lower leaves, and the plant drastically reduced its water consumption during this week. I grabbed the magnifying glass and saw the mites, still not adults, and eggs on the underside of the leaves. Since it was already too late when I detected it, the only thing I could do tonight was spray them with cold water to try to wash away some of the damn spiders and create a very humid and hostile environment for the pest. The next day, with very few alternatives left, I read about potassium soap and its destructive and harmless power. I had the ingredients at home, mainly my beloved Potassium Hydroxide... read below how to make it. For now, I'm doing foliar applications with this product, three times in the last five days, I check this and another affected plant daily. Today I did a major defoliation of problematic leaves; I hope I took many spiders and eggs with me. ORGANIC TIP 😊 Pure Potassium Soap. Ingredients: Olive oil or any other vegetable oil: 240ml. Pure water: 40ml. Potassium Hydroxide (KOH): 40g. Procedure: Dissolve the hydroxide until the water is clear. Heat the oil in a water bath. Do not exceed 60°C. Mix continuously, ensuring that the mixture doesn’t separate. Keep stirring the mixture until it is homogeneous. You can use a kitchen blender. Let it rest for an hour and stir the mixture again for 5-10 minutes. You can use a kitchen blender. That's it... use at 1-2% as a foliar application for 5-7 days, focusing on the affected areas. It is non-toxic and works mechanically by destroying the insect's protective layer, causing suffocation. deFharo Ninth week of flowering, victory week against spider mites... I've suffocated them all with my potassium soap and a hostile environment with low temperatures and high humidity, I keep observing with a magnifying glass daily in case they decide to come back. Now I'm not afraid of them, I know how to identify their traces and how to crush them!! 😈 The crop has been greatly weakened by the passage of the spiders, which has been compounded by the poor substrate configuration, with too much organic matter and nutrients, which has slowed the plant's metabolism until today, despite the numerous waterings I've done with microorganisms to dissolve the excess organic matter, and I'm going to continue like this, I don't want to lose hope of getting a good harvest. For now, the buds are numerous but thin, the leaf mass is reduced to the small leaves surrounding the flowers, the plant seems to have regained some vigor these last few days, this week I'm going to boost it with some bio-stimulant preparation. deFharo Welcome to week 19 of life and the tenth of flowering for this plant mistreated by me and by life itself! 😵 The plant finally got rid of the spider mites, but not the consequences of a poorly made substrate; its metabolism is low, it consumes little water, and the plant is very weakened. However, the buds emit an intense smell and are very sticky. This week I'm going to give it PK nutrients to see if the buds react and fatten up a bit, because if not, I'll have to cut it next week. Due to the substrate problems, I haven't been able to provide many nutrients since I've been focused on lightening the substrate load. The appearance isn't bad, but the dark color of the leaves and flowers confuses me and makes the plant look older than it actually is.
