The philosophy of this grow will be to mix the old with the new; we will try to take advantage of ancient techniques fused with all the technology available today, which is overwhelmingly surprising us with the number of proposals the market offers, allowing us to open a range of possibilities to successfully carry out our grows. I've decided to go for a SOG grow, simple, accessible to anyone, with low economic costs (EXCEPT FOR NUTRIENT TABLE), with good results in terms of production, from which we will obtain very high-quality harvests. We will optimize the growing method to the maximum without forgetting, of course, the proper care of our plants. In my understanding, an efficient grow is one where, upon obtaining the final product, we have managed not to spend too many economic resources (beyond what is necessary) and achieve the desired final results. METHODOLOGY OF GROWING For this grow, I will carry out a kind of Sea of Green, with a slightly more vertical growth. Since these are seed plants and not clones, it will be more complicated to control that all the plants are of the same height and stature. We will perform low pruning, and if necessary, we will use stakes to guide the plants and also to better support the weight of the flowers. Of the 21 germinated individuals, I will proceed to select 16 during the growth phase, removing any plants that have any deformity, as well as those whose growth is irregular compared to the others (I will keep them in another place as a reserve in case any mishap occurs before the flowering phase begins; once it starts, no more individuals will be added). I will use 3 types of pots, as I have them available, although a single transplant would be sufficient. 0.4L pot: Germination 1L pot: 2nd week of growth 5L pot: Final pot For the first growth phase (first 3 weeks) Cabinet: 110x70x50 Lighting: 2 x24W LED 6100k + Agrolite fluorescent 200W 6400k. Temperature: Desired temperature range for this phase between 18 and 24 ºC Humidity: Desired humidity range for this phase between 50 and 70% Watering: Rainwater pH7, EC > 0.1 Tª 18-20ºC. In the first days, we will water by "feel," watering according to what the soil requires. We will keep our little plants well-hydrated but without saturating the pot since they will develop more roots if we slightly force them to seek out water. In this phase, I will not fertilize; I will only use Cannazym. When we transplant to the 1-liter pots, they will need more water; at that moment, I will tell you the amounts I will use. We will add growth fertilizer Top Veg, Cannazym, and a stimulant with amino acids called Super Vit. I should mention that during this phase, we will apply a preventive to avoid the appearance of insect pests. For the second growth phase (last week of growth) and full flowering: Cabinet: 180x90x90 Lighting: LEC Solux equipment with Philips 3100k bulb + 2 PSY 50w 2700k for support if necessary. Temperature: Desired temperature range for this phase between 18ºC min and 24ºC max for the first weeks, 15ºC min and 22ºC max for flowering. Humidity: Desired humidity range for this phase between 30 and 45% Watering: Rainwater pH7, EC > 0.1 Tª 18-20ºC. Approximately 250ml per plant once a day during the first weeks, about 300ml during flowering, and less watering in the final stages. We will see this in more detail during the follow-up. For fertilization, we will follow guidelines based on our plants' needs during the different weeks of the grow; I don't want to dwell too much here; we will cover it later. 2.2 SUBSTRATE For germination, Top Crop Light Mix + Microvita from Top Crop in 0.4L pots. For the first transplant to 1L, I will use the same, Top Crop Light Mix + Microvita. For the final pots, I will use a mix of Top Crop Light Mix (70%) and Top Crop Coco (30%), to which I will add a packet of Microvita from Top Crop, a little dolomite powder (approximately) 1g x 5L, nothing significant, just to prevent deficiencies. -3. PREPARATION OF THE GROW ROOM AND MATERIALS USED. -For the preparation of the grow room, I will pay special attention to order and cleanliness. -I will choose a quiet place, away from curious eyes, and that is safe in terms of odors, so I will not use any type of filter or anything to eliminate odors. -I don't have much space, so I will try to optimize the space I have to the maximum. Here’s an inventory of the things I’m going to use, along with some photos to better see what each item is. Cabinets: 110x70x50 and 180 x 90 x90 Lighting: 24W LED 6100k (x2) + Agrolite fluorescent 200W 6100k (GROW) and LEC Solux equipment with Philips 3100k bulb + PSY 50w 2700k (x2) for support if necessary (FLOW). Trays: 40 x 60 (x2), 70 x 50 (x1) Pots: 0.4L, 1L, and 5L Substrate: Top Crop Light Mix and Coco. Also Microvita. For the clones, I will use Jiffy. Fertilizers: Top Veg, Terra Vega, Terra Flores, Rhizotonic, Canna Boost PK 13-14, Super Vit, Cannazym, Sensi Cal Mag, Overdrive, Bud Candy, Bloom Bastic. Here we also include the preventives, dolomite, and some support products if necessary, Rhino Skin, Hype, Final Flush, and Clone (cuttings). Extraction: 2 extractors of 19w and 25w, tubes to extract air from the room of 110mm and 130mm, clip fan. Materials for controlling the different parameters: Thermo-hygrometer, pH meter, EC meter, stakes, stickers, pipettes, measuring cups, stakes, scalpels, timers, water heaters, permanent markers, hand sprayer, calendar.

ChachoGreenCrown In the first days of germination, I used lower light power since so many watts aren't necessary. I only turned on the 2 LED bulbs of 24w, and that was enough for those first days. The extraction was passive during the first week of germination since the parameters were perfect. I usually consider the germination phase to be the entire process until the plants produce their first pair of well-developed true leaves, which usually takes about 10 days. After that, I will consider it the growth phase. At 5 days after all the seeds sprout, they start to grow too much in search of light, and the humidity doesn't rise above 40%, so I decide to spray water from time to time to raise the parameter a bit more. I turn on the other 200w light, bringing the total to 250w, and I also connect the extractor since this light gives off a bit more heat. Surprisingly, the ambient temperature is perfect this week, and the humidity rises a little. Perhaps the substrate temperature is a bit high since they reach room temperature quickly being so small, but still, my little plants are in an optimal environment. The plants, in general, are developing well; they have good color, are growing nicely, and are quite tall. For me, it's not a problem that they've stretched a bit, but it's true that special care must be taken when it comes time to transplant. The watering volume is slightly higher, about 50ml per plant per day. They haven't received any type of fertilization yet. We are on day 12 of Germination, and I think it's time to transplant and start considering my grow in the growth phase. I'll leave you some photos before doing the transplant. Growth: This phase is super important, and the guidelines we follow will define the nature of our grow. My goals for the growth phase are: - A first development with a low stature and good branching to be able to take clones from all of them. - Good root development before proceeding to the final transplant. - The plants need a nutrient supply that will be essential in the coming weeks. - Acclimatization to the new location. - Discarding some specimens until reaching 16, which will be the final number of plants in the final cabinet.

ChachoGreenCrown This week, I'm changing the location of the little plants and acclimating them to their new spot. The cabinet, lighting, and extraction are all set up. I've done tests before putting the plants in to establish the ideal conditions. I'm going to try to keep the maximum temperature at 26ºC, although honestly, I would prefer to maintain it around 24ºC when the lights are on. On the other hand, it's an important week since they'll be receiving their first dose of Nitrogen and essential amino acids. Also, by the end of the week, I'll be doing a final transplant with the corresponding pruning and I'll apply a preventative. It's time to bump the ballast up to 250W since I had them at this power during the growth phase, and it wouldn't make sense for me to have them at a lower power now. For now, 250W, although at this point, I should have more branches; I'm just managing with these for the clones, but I don't want to extend the growth stage any longer. In a few days, I'll raise the ballast another notch. As a good card player, you always have to have a strategy, hehe I don't want to miss out on this genetic for anything in the world, so the clones will be more than secured. Let's keep playing. The plants are evolving perfectly from my point of view, as they meet my set goals. - Light acceptance. - Good development with uniform growth. - Plants with good color. - Good adaptation to transplanting. - Good acceptance of the fertilizers. ChachoGreenCrown From now on, they will receive a good supply of nutrients. In the early stages of flowering, I’m interested in them having Nitrogen, and later on, I will introduce other elements that are very necessary for complete development. One aspect to consider is that plants do not need huge amounts of fertilizers, but we also can't fall short. We need to find a balance that allows the plants to take advantage of those substances and be able to store some of them in the vacuoles for later. This way, they will have a small reserve of nutrients and sugars, allowing for the reabsorption of nutrients from other parts of the plants to be prolonged (that’s why the lower leaves turn yellow). There are mobile elements like nitrogen that the plant can transport from one part to another depending on its needs. Other elements are not mobile; besides anchoring in specific parts of the plants, they also anchor to the substrate, becoming less soluble, which causes an increase in salts in the substrate. So we need to keep in mind what we add, how much we add, and when we add it.

ChachoGreenCrown This week I'm going to prune, clone, and acquire new products. **6.1.1.- CLONING DAY 8: It's time for a little pruning; for this type of cultivation (SOG), it's important that the plants have a central bud... and everything else is unnecessary! We'll try to take some cuttings to keep this genetic variety present; I think we'll get quite a few, although honestly, I'm going to have to work miracles because they're very small, but I'm sure they'll pull through. If all goes well, the second part of this follow-up will be about those clones. You’re going to be amazed by the aggressive pruning I've done, but it's going to be good for them. I take all the plants out for an individual inspection.

ChachoGreenCrown We're entering week 3 of flowering, which I consider the generative period I, and it's characterized by the development of the flower and an increase in its length. This will last about 2-3 weeks, and there will be a halt in height growth. This week, I'm doing another clearing of the lower areas (pruning II), and I'll probably put stakes on the plants. So far, they have all been very even, but as soon as I triggered flowering, the haze genetics quickly started to show, which seems to have been well hidden. I have a feeling it's going to be a long flowering period. On the other hand, those leaves indicate the presence of Afghan ancestry, very wide, very green, and dark, just like the Northern Lights and Ortega, which are supposed to be their ancestors. I have some really amazing feelings about these plants. I like what I see.

ChachoGreenCrown WEEK 4 FLOWERING PHASE Let's give one last push to the generative phase I. DAY 22: Watering; -I still have leftover water from the mix from the previous day which, if we remember, had some leftover nutrients from the day before (see day 20) + rhino skyn. Well, to that mix, I add 1.5ml/L of sensi cal mag xtra and 0.5 ml/L more of rhino skyn until I reach an EC of 0.6 pH 6 -250ml per plant DAY 23: Watering only with 50ml per plant of water + rhino skin EC 0.2. Yesterday they received a significant watering, and it's very humid in the environment. I'm going to try reducing the incoming air from outside by setting it to intervals of 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off during the first hours of the lights being on, and on the other hand, 15 minutes per hour on when the light is off. The temperature increases a couple of degrees, but it makes my little plants eat faster. Today we take the opportunity to evaluate the general state of the plants, dedicating a little time to observe them. They will appreciate our company in the form of CO2 haha DAY 24: The humidity parameter has dropped a bit, sitting at 46-50% when the lights are on and 63% when off. For now, it's "there-there," but soon I will have to lower that humidity more since it's still raining outside. The rain had to have something good. This is how the well is. It only collects rainwater, has no underground leaks or anything like that. The water is filtered as it enters through a homemade system I installed last year and I clean regularly. It has a pH of 7 and EC <0.1. It has an approximate capacity of 8m3, but to be more sure, I will measure it tomorrow and put the data here. This is gold. Back to the cultivation, I observe that besides other elements, the N contribution from the Sensi Cal Mag has suited them perfectly and I'm considering whether to raise the N dosage a bit. It's early, there are still many days left to cut and Nitrogen is a very necessary element for flower formation since it's fundamental for protein synthesis. I still don't want it to be reabsorbed from the old leaves since this will reduce the ability to absorb photons, apart from increasing the volume of upper leaves which would prevent light from reaching the lower areas, creating more leaf need and then needing even more N, and so on. It would be a vicious circle that would lead us to be removing reabsorbed leaves every now and then... and that's not the plan since I already did their respective prunings and if I still have them there, it's for a reason. Today they will receive a substantial feeding. Terra vega: If you look at the product label, the total K content is very similar to that of terra flores, only the amount of N and P varies a little. Since I'm interested in them having a bit more N today, they will go with terra vega. The PK will be provided this time by delta 9. All this deficiency comes from the low effectiveness of Top veg in coco. If I had used terra vega from the beginning, the outlook would be better. THUS: Terra vega 3ml/L + rhizhotonic 0.5ml/L + 1ml/L Cannazym + 2ml/L canna boost + 3ml/L delta 9… I'm going to raise the EC to 0.25 with rhino skyn + sensi cal mag xtra Final EC value: 1.3 DAY 25: today I water a little. -The ambient humidity remains acceptable, not exceeding 64% when off and between 48-52% when on. -Watering with water only, adjusted to a pH of 6.1 EC <0.1 -50ml/plant DAY 26: Watering with the same water only. They are going to wash their little feet. -adjusted to pH 6.1, EC 0.1 -330 ml/plant. +30% of the usual DAY 27: No watering. ChachoGreenCrown WEEK 5 OF FLOWERING Hello everyone! Complicated week in terms of the weather outside. December arrives with its "Oh my God!" Temperature outside -2ºC on December 2nd, day 60 since germination, day 29 since the start of flowering. And with super high humidity saturations in the middle of the field, just imagine how everything looks in the morning... white, white. This week, these ladies are going to have their nipples like castle bells. I’ll have to take measures. DAY 29: Well, as I already told you, it's cold outside. I had a feeling this was going to happen. The lights turn on when it's night outside and turn off when it's day outside and starts to warm up. I've cut off the intake from the street and now it comes in from another room where I hang out, and this air comes in warmer (there's a heater). I set it to intervals of 15 minutes when the lights are off and I'm not around. With this, I manage to keep the temperature above 18 degrees during the dark period and not below 23 degrees during the light period, reaching up to 26 degrees (now without external air). I have heaters and an electric blanket, but let's try to save a bit on the electricity bill. With this, I'm making sure the plants don't even realize what time of year it is. They think they're in paradise, hahahaha. On another note. You will see that the plants have already entered generative phase II, which involves a general thickening of the flowers. They are going to grow in width. This requires specific feeding for this phase and a modification of the EC and pH parameters. When I need to lower the pH, although it usually adjusts with the fertilizers, but just so you know, I use this. You have to be careful when applying it because I assure you that you can ruin the crop in no time if it's not applied correctly. Well, back to today. I adjust the water temperature as always (today it was at 5 degrees, if I add this, I’ll overload them), and I measure pH and EC before adding fertilizers and always, always when mixing the fertilizers. Watering: Terra Flores 3ml/L + Rhizotonic 0.5 ml/L + CannaZym 2ml/L + PK 13-14 1ml/L + Cannaboost 2ml/L + Delta 9 3ml/L + Bud Candy 1ml/L -pH 6.3 EC 1.4 -230ml/plant Today they are a bit tight... let's see how they react. The general state of the plants is good. As I suspected, the taller ones have stopped growing and the smaller ones have grown a little more. 4 plants at 80cm and 12 plants at 60-67cm. Some lower leaves, which aren't getting enough light, have started to be reabsorbed, partly due to the lack of N (I saved it for top Veg, it messed me up pretty good). But it’s okay, at the end of this week I’m going to do a defoliation, so that’s one less thing I have to spend on fertilizer. The reabsorption is also a good sign in part; this crop is going faster than I thought. DAY 30: The plants have accepted the fertilizer from the previous day perfectly; they look vigorous. -Today I water with 50ml of plain water per plant; they are going to dry out the pot almost completely. -EC 0.1 pH 6.5 The minimum recorded today in the grow space was 16ºC, hehe, cold. I'm going to look for another solution. I have a 240w heater and a 35W blanket, totaling 270W. If I use this, it practically stays on for the 12 hours of darkness, pushing the consumption to over 3500W daily. On the other hand, I have a hot air heater of about 1000W with a regulator set to practically minimum; I also have a temperature control programmed to turn on when the temperature drops below 17ºC and turn off when it reaches 20ºC. With this, it stays on for about 13 minutes per hour in small intervals (it's very effective); in 12 hours it consumes just under 3000W. Although both are expensive, the second option works better for me since the air heats up more evenly and quickly. The plants do not receive the flow of hot air directly. I’ll leave you a little sketch of my room so you can understand it better. I will keep this heating system as long as necessary. DAY 31: They are evolving well with the heater; the humidity has dropped a bit to 42%. Today they receive a good watering. Sensi Cal Mag Xtra 1.5 ml/L + Rhino Skin 1.5 ml/L + Rhizotonic EC 0.44 pH 6.1 230ml/plant DAY 32: Upon entering the grow room, I noticed a stunning change in the plants; today they are lively. The stigmas are super thick and turgid. They love the waterings I give them. The humidity is at 50%, so I want to believe that the idea of placing the water bucket in the path of the hot air has had an effect; I assume part of the water in the bucket evaporates, causing the humidity to rise a few points. I've also noticed that it's more humid outside; it must be the combination of both things. Everything's cool. I water with the leftover water from yesterday's fertilizer, diluted with water to 2.2 EC. EC 2.2 pH 6.5 100 ml/plant If you see, I make small fluctuations with the pH at this stage, between 5.9 and 6.5 very progressively without abrupt changes. I also make changes with the EC, always within acceptable values; besides, with this monitoring, I'm playing it safe; I don't overload them too much, to be honest. From my point of view, this is to ensure better absorption of all the nutrients applied. Not all strains allow these fluctuations; some plants are more sensitive to changes, and one of these could cause leaf burn. I’ve found that these Black Jacks are a resilient variety and quite tolerant of these changes. Every grow is a world; I adapt the method based on the demands and possibilities that the plants offer me. DAY 33: Today they are going to receive a little more N. Let me tell you, According to what I’ve read while searching for information to corroborate or dismiss my theories, I’ve found that there is a big open debate about the need for PK in plants during these first weeks of the flowering phase. Some say a lot of PK is needed from the start, while others say little. For example: Canna says a lot, Grotek says a lot, Advanced Nutrients says little, GHE says little, and so on. What’s the deal???? From my experience, I say it depends on a bit of everything. Whether the plant is indica or sativa, the climatic conditions we provide, the cultivation method, type of substrate, amount of light, presence of CO2, EC, pH—all of this influences the demand for nutrients. This is if we’re talking about indoor; if we were talking about outdoor... even more factors. With conditions like those in my grow right now and with this variety, my opinion is that they need little PK in the first 4 weeks of flowering; just having it present is enough, and for this, I already applied Terra Flores and Delta 9. There needs to be N for this PK to be utilized; if we don’t provide it, the plant will take it from the lower parts through leaf reabsorption. That’s why I give them small doses of N; by the end of flowering, you’ll see what we have with this approach. Today they are watered with Terra Vega 2ml/L + Cannazym 1ml/L + Rhino Skin 1.5ml/L -EC 0.6 pH 6.2 -220ml/plant I hope I’m not rambling; I suppress a lot of this information to avoid being excessive, but honestly, I wish someone would give it to me, hahahaha, and when I read a grow that has valuable or interesting info, I go crazy researching. DAY 34: Today they are watered with plain water, EC 0.1, and I lowered the pH to 6.2. 100 ml/plant DAY 35: Today is the last day of week 5 of flowering, and I must say it has been a bit of a complicated week regarding climatic conditions, but we’ve managed to control it. Today they will start receiving a good supply of PK along with the other corresponding fertilizers. I introduced 1ml/L of PK 13-14 at the beginning of the week; this watering will get 1.5ml/L more from what Terra Flores will provide. I was going to proceed with defoliation this week, but plans have changed; I’ll wait a bit longer. The plants are about halfway through their flowering; it’s too early to do it. I would love to be able to add more CO2 at this stage, but since my meter broke, the budget doesn’t allow for that; we’ll wait for future grows to optimize even more. In the past, I used to calculate the volume of the room and the extraction flow, creating a continuous volume of CO2 that would theoretically be around 1000ppm at about 29-30ºC, and I would do my own reaction with homemade dosers; it was amazing, but it was a lot of work that I currently don’t have time to keep an eye on all the time. It’s a shame the meter died; otherwise, I could do something like that. I hope to showcase these techniques in future follow-ups. END OF WEEK 5 AND ON TO ANOTHER WEEK.

ChachoGreenCrown In this post, I share the development of week 6 of flowering. It’s been a busy week both inside and outside the grow, and well, between one thing and another, I’m not here as much as I’d like haha. Plus, there’s still a lot of follow-up to do, and I don’t want this to become a drag. We’re getting to know each other better, so if there’s anything, we can discuss it after this post, mates. Well, first of all, I’ll start by talking about the climate parameters. Last week was tough, and it seems things have changed. On one hand, the outside temperature is much higher than last week; the maximums outside are 16 degrees, which translates to minimums of 18ºC in the grow, so I’ve set the heater to kick in if it drops below 16ºC, but it never kicks in. On the other hand, the maximum temperature is at 26.8ºC, but it rarely reaches that; it stays around an average of 24.5ºC, although the stream of fresh air is currently coming in at about 10ºC. I’m not directing it straight! It’s spread out more diffusely in the room. For the last week, I’m going to crank it up to full speed to see if I can lower the grow temperature to 20ºC. I’ll set up a Y connection, and then I’ll direct this air more straight to see if I can get it to drop. I want to experiment with this; they talk about a significant increase in resin. Humidity is at 43-45% when on and doesn’t go above 55% when off. I’ve got all the artillery in place. It feels great to be here. Now, let’s go over the activities carried out this week in the grow. DAY 36 They just came from a strong feeding; some dried out a bit more than others, so I’m giving those 100 ml of Cannazym with EC 0.3 and pH 6.1. DAY 37 The same thing happens again; some dry out more than others, so I prepare the same mix and give 100 ml to each. DAY 38 No watering. DAY 39 The same plants that dried out well in the pot have done it again, while the others haven’t at all, and on top of that, a couple of spots have appeared on those that indicate some kind of blockage. Early signs, lack of phosphorus and Mg. Let’s get to work; I prepare about 50L of water with Cannazym 3ml/L at pH 6.1 and EC 0.4. I take all the plants out of the cabinet and start with the ones I think are affected. I give them 2L each to start, and I take 2 samples of leachate. The first leachate is supposed to be false since it drags a lot of salts from the bottom, but I take it because it’s there. The second one is the correct one. Well, I get values of 2.2-2.5 in the first EC measurement, even higher values. In the second measurement, I get 1.9-2. And I don’t know how the pH is showing 7 when I’ve done all the waterings with pH 5.8-6.3. I’m freaking out, but well. That’s why we need to do these measurements. Let’s correct this → I lower the pH of the prepared solution even more to 5.8, and I start washing the plants excessively, to the point that I have to prepare another 20L of the same solution. I leave them at 1.2-1.3; some are at 1 EC haha, but well, it’s going to be good for the nutrient boosts I’m going to give them. And well, I can’t get the pH below 6.5. But the next time I feed, I’m sure it will drop more. DAY 40 No watering. DAY 41 No watering. DAY 42 No watering; they’re at 50% humidity in the pot. Tomorrow is feeding day. I’ve noticed quite a good change in them. This is amazing in terms of flower quality.

ChachoGreenCrown WEEK 7 OF FLOWERING Let me tell you about the development of week 7 of flowering. First of all, I have to say that the plants are doing great as they approach the end of their cycle. This week I applied a couple of waterings rich in nutrients, and on the other days just water with enzymes and plain water, all adjusted to pH 6.1. Two of the sixteen plants are still having some difficulty absorbing, so I measured the pH and EC of the runoff again, and the pH came out a bit high (7), and I don't understand why since I always water with pH 6.1. Some compound must have interacted with another or something like that; I'm studying what it could have been. I left it at 6.3, but they've been a bit too wet all week, and you can see that excess water in the leaves. Luckily, it's something mild, and they're quite advanced already, so there won't be any problem with the buds. From now on, I need to lower the salt levels in the pots, keeping the EC lower, but I won't stop applying nutrients since most of the plants are going to go for 9 long weeks. I'll do the wash with enzymes in the middle of next week and let the pots dry before applying the final flush in week 9. Although they're nice and plump, they're still very immature, so we're going to let them mature properly. I estimate they have about 16-20 days left. I'll try to distribute the activities well during that time. (I have a theory; they're in 5L coco, and as SOG plants, they shouldn't be in pots larger than 3L in coco. Coco retains a lot of salts in the fibers, making it hard to wash, especially if they turn into insoluble compounds. With 5L pots, the watering volume is greater, the salt contribution is higher, but the plants eat what they eat, and part of that water evaporates, while part remains at the bottom loaded with unabsorbed salts, and when they're at 20 or 30% humidity, we water again... and so on, a series of compounds end up accumulating that interact with each other due to those conditions created at the bottom. If they had been smaller, the root colonization would be faster, drying the pot practically every day, making the wash safer since they wouldn't be wet for more than two days. Anyway, things always slip away; next time we'll try to improve it. I thought that since they are more sativa, they would need a bit more substrate volume, mistake, I still think in soil, not in coco. I need to change my mindset even more.) The plants were a bit sad at the beginning of the week, but after the flush, I noticed an increase in vigor. At this point, we have about 8 plants that will be ready by the end of week 9 and another 8 plants that will be cut in week 10 of flowering. These Black Jack have a long flowering period, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. For these 8 more advanced plants, I won't be adding any more nutrients, just enzymes. The other 8 will receive a nutrient boost at the end of this week with a lot of PK and won't be fertilized again. ChachoGreenCrown LAST DAYS Well, mates, the time has come to cut the rest. Since I removed the previous ones a week ago, I haven't watered again; they've been stuck in the wet pot all week (they were only getting water), until they gradually dried out. By the end of the week, I put them in total darkness, and they've been like that for the last two days. Today, day 71 since the start of flowering, the cultivation of all the Black Jacks comes to an end. The 16 in the follow-up and of course! the 5 discarded ones have also borne fruit!! Today, all 21 BLACK JACKS are back together!!! I'm leaving some pics of the plants before putting them in darkness; 2 of them are a bit less mature, but they're within the timeframe that seems appropriate to me for harvesting! The earliest Black Jacks are still in the drying process, for that I hang them in a cool, dry place, where it will be about 15 degrees Celsius. I have a fan running 24 hours a day to keep the air moving, which helps prevent mold and, of course! speeds up the drying process. They've been hanging for 7 days and have already lost about 60-70% of their total water. They stay hanging until the branch snaps when bent. Several smells are starting to differentiate; some smell very caramel-like, while others have a strong haze scent. When the time comes to taste them, we'll classify them, but for now, everything looks great. Drying is super important to do correctly; otherwise, we could ruin months of work, even putting our health at risk. I would say that drying and curing is about 60% of the importance regarding the final success of the harvest. THC can go through more than 40 different oxidative states throughout the life cycle of the plants and also during drying and storage; the same goes for the presence of terpenes. If we apply good drying and curing, we ensure that the qualities of the herb are maintained. I'm very meticulous about this point. I examine what I smoke with a magnifying glass. HERE ARE ALL 21 BLACK JACKS TOGETHER; IT SEEMS THERE'S GOING TO BE A BIG HARVEST AFTER ALL. I'm also going to use some B62 packets to keep them at the optimal smoking point. In this first post, I'll show you some general photos of the buds; it would be too crazy to go one by one, it would gather too many posts here, but I'll do my best to not lose many details. As you can see, the quantity has been rather short, 250g with 315W (although in truth it wasn't always at 315W, but anyway...) that's an average of 0.8g/W, but I already suspected this since I didn't fill the cabinet completely. What there is, though, is a looooooot of quality. With the second part of the grow, I'm going to try to have more quantity. I wish you could see this in person... Sweet delicious!!! I can appreciate several types of haze, some give me Afghan vibes, and some are very sweet with a very intense fruity smell. In the next tasting post, I'll describe each plant in more detail. THE TASTING. Well friends, it's been about a month since I cut the Black Jacks, and I can't resist any longer. Let's do a first tasting to see what this crop has to offer. I've divided the tasting into 4 varieties per day. (I'll do it on my days off, not workdays, so I can really appreciate the effect and all the nuances) I'll smoke a couple of each at different times of the day. Regular joints, L "Spanish style" paper. Blackberry and a pinch of tobacco, and others with raw crystal tips. Also with a pinch of tobacco. Typical joint. I like to smoke in a bong, pipes, tobacco blunts, vaporizers, extractions of all kinds, haha is there anything else? Bring it on, I'll smoke it...hahaha Later I'll leave you a little report of my smoking session. Right now, I'm just going to focus on tasting and classifying the herbs. I start with what I see as the winner and therefore will keep the genetics of this one; the next two are from the crop I have set as the second part of the follow-up. Clearly, I chose the sweetest ones. Maybe I should consider choosing this type of herb in the catalog that are sweeter, more caramelized. And then everything else to complete the 16 specimens; honestly, 11 of the 16 are practically the same when smoked, more haze-like. BLACK JACK #PLANT 9# (Best genetics) DESCRIPTION: Very defined plant, compact, dark appearance. Doesn't tend to branch out. Afghan indica type, skunk with a sweet touch. Flowering in 9 weeks. SMELL: Fruity, caramel TASTE: Fruity with a spicy touch. EFFECTS: Has an initial euphoric point when smoked, after a while the high stabilizes giving way to a very pleasant relaxation, makes you sleepy. Ideal after a hard daily grind. PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Geraniol, Terpinol, Linalool, Myrcene, Caryophyllene. BLACK JACK 1 DESCRIPTION: Plant that tends to branch a lot, the clones obtained would be ideal for scrog-type cultivation. Very green and vigorous plant. Clearly Haze predominant. Flowering 9 weeks. SMELL: Has a very familiar smell, very much like the old days. A bit muted, not skunky. I would say this is a very haze phenotype. TASTE: Somewhat woody flavor with a spicy touch, gives a hint of hash. EFFECTS: Very deep high, lots of thoughts, a strong desire to start things, I would say it awakens a creative side. PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Caryophyllene, Terpinolene, Carene, Myrcene. BLACK JACK 6 DESCRIPTION: Somewhat purple phenotype, not much branching. Seems like good genetics for SOG cultivation. Easy to control. Flowering 9 weeks. SMELL: Smell of forest fruits, berries, blueberries. TASTE: RED FRUITS, very sweet, I would say it has a purple touch, but the Afghan predominance is clearly noticeable. Has a slight hash touch when releasing the smoke, it's not like the others! EFFECTS: Relaxation, dry mouth, very heavy eyes, very deep and relaxing high. This one takes away the pain haha. I think it contains a bit more CBD. PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Terpinolene, Geraniol, Terpinol, Linalool. BLACK JACK 2 DESCRIPTION: Pink phenotype, plant with candy flavor. Small compact plant, very easy to control in vegetation. Also differs a lot from the other phenos. Flowering 9 weeks. SMELL: Sweet, cotton candy. TASTE: Strawberry candy flavor, very sweet and very tasty. EFFECTS: Pleasant, relaxing. PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Terpinol, Linalool, Myrcene. The other Black Jacks to complete the 16 are practically the same!! DESCRIPTION: Very green, very nice haze-type plants, flowering between 9 and 10 weeks. SMELL: Hash, woody, herb, incense. TASTE: Rich, spicy with woody notes. I would say with musky touches. Very consistent smoke. EFFECTS: Very potent, personally it activates me. It's a worker, as I usually say. Ideal for day-to-day, with one joint you have enough for the whole morning. PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Caryophyllene, Terpinolene, Carene, Myrcene with some Humulene. These last ones, being very similar, will all go together in the same jars. Every time I grab a bud, it will be an adventure hahaha, these Black Jacks are very tasty ehhhhh!

ChachoGreenCrown 2DA PARTE 21BLACK-JACK . “The Black Jack return”. COMENZAMOS!! Como lo prometido es deuda, proseguimos con esa aventura con esta genética legendaria que me ha quedado bastante sorprendido con la calidad que ha ofrecido. Como habéis podido ver algunas se han ido largas en la flora, pero por otro lado, las primeras fueron cortadas a 63 de flora, un numero bastante asequible en cuanto a lo que busco para mis cultivos. De las 7 más tempranas, me he quedado con una selección de dos fenotipos que han ofrecido frutos muy grandes y resinosos, aparte de un olor dulce dulce y aunque aún no las he catado he creído que estas dos eran las más oportunas para el tipo de cultivo que voy a realizar con poda apical. Las elegidas son las Black Jack 1 y 6 del cultivo anterior. Como ya sabéis saqué clones en la primera semana de flora. Los he mantenido todo el tiempo posible en el armario de germinación junto a las demás hasta cortar y elegir cuales quedarme. Una pena porque la mayoría van a ir a la basura, pero lamentablemente no puedo quedármelas todas ijjijijijijjjij. (dejaré alguna por ahí remetida por algún hueco ya que voy a necesitar bastante material para mis extracciones. Yo soy un fumador nato, y la verdad que necesito cantidad para abastecerme todo el año). Bueno pues como en cualquier inicio de cultivo voy a explicar un poco el método de cultivo y los materiales a emplear. Hare una breve introducción con todo lo que voy a necesitar. También habrá una segunda parte dedicada a la reproducción de esta variedad, ya la explicare bien cuando llegue el momento de publicarlo. METODO DE CULTIVO Bueno pues esta vez vamos a intentar ir un poco más allá en busca de algo más de cantidad. Voy a meter 9 black jacks con una poda Apical en tiestos final de 5L con una mezcla de coco, pelita y arcilla expandida. Llevan más tiempo de crecimiento por tanto van a ser bastante más grandes que las anteriores. Seguiré las mismas pautas con el riego , y estados lunares pero el abonado va a ser diferente!! Van a recibir mucha mucha tralla jajaja. Publicaré todos los pasos importantes para que no se pierda detalle. Así que Vamos al lio. MATERIALES -Armario de mantenimiento o germinación (usado en el 1ª parte del seguimiento ) -Armario final: D90 secret jardín 90x90x180 -Macetas de 0,4L , 1L y 5L -Sustrato: Coco top crop, perlita plagron, arcilla expandida, y microvita top crop. Temperatura: Rango temperatura entre 20ºC min y 24ºC máx. para crecimiento y floración y entre 15ºC min y 20ºC max para fin de floración. Para la humedad intentaremos llevar el hilo aproximado del cultivo anterior, también tomaré de referencia de la que aportó un día @Miguel1983 en un comentario. Riego: Agua de lluvia Ph7, Ec> 0,1 Tª 18-20ºC. Aprox 150ml por planta 1 vez al día, las primeras semanas, unos 250ml días en floración y menor riego ya en los estados finales.. Abonado seguiremos unas pautas en función de las necesidades de nuestras plantas durante las diferentes semanas del cultivo, pero vamos lo dicho… van a llevar mucha tralla. Abonos: Rhizotonic, coco A+B canna, super vit hesy , cannazym, sensi calmag xtra, pk 13-14, delta 9 ,booster canna, Bud Candy, Bloom bastic, rhino skin, mega bud, ph down biobizz, final flush, y clone (esquejes). CRECIMIENTO Comenzamos con la etapa de crecimiento, como ya sabeis los clones enraizaron para el día 17 de Noviembre, Como tiraban muy rápido los aguante todo lo posible en 0,4L retrasando el crecimiento ya que había más de 30 clones black Jack. La bombilla flueorescente a pesar de ser de 125w es floja, al tener 6500k su espectro es demasiado blanco, tirar tiran mucho a lo alto, sin embargo no ramifican, por otro lado el Led solux 50w es muy muy diferente, con 4000k tiene espectro mas rojizo, plantas super frondosas y de tallos gordos (luego dejo fotos de algunas black jack mantenidas en el) Ya me quedé con 6 de las black Jack y pasé los clones a 1L y así han estado a base de agua, rhizotonic, terra vega y cal mag hasta ahora. Ya con las seleccionadas, hago unas podas para seguir retrasando y sacando brotes, hasta el día de hoy. 15 de Enero van para el armario 90x90 con 315W LEC è 9 black jacks aún en fase de crecimiento. Les daré unos días más de crecimiento, y realizaré trasplante a 5L. Os dejo unas fotos de los Clones durante estos dos meses de mantenimiento El tiempo empieza a contar a partir de ahora. 1 Semana vegetativo “21 Black Jack Return” En esta semana hay pasos importantes en el seguimiento de los clones: realizo trasplante y poda. También indicar un poco el estado de los parámetros y las pautas de riego. Por un lado, pasamos estas pequeñas a tiestos definitivos con una mezcla de coco, perlita y arcilla expandida como comenté en el anterior post. El coco y la perlita se suponen que vienen a pH 6.5 asique humedezco con agua pH 6 y listo. La arcilla, sin embargo, trae pH 7 y es muy difícil cambiar ese valor y que se vuelva estable a 5,5, pues tenderá ir a 7 con el tiempo como la mayoría de sustratos. Para intentar revertir este efecto y dejarlas en 5,5 es necesario lavarlas durante un mínimo de 48h antes de usarlas. The amount of resin is insane, I’m already rubbing my hands together for the extractions I’m going to do, I’ve been really surprised by the quality of the ones I’ve made. For my taste, Black Jack is amazing for this purpose, and well, it’s good for smoking too... but the extractions are brutal. I’ll share a bit about the activities carried out during the week. It's the predominant strain in my stash and therefore, it will be the most significant grow for me in 2021. Well, it's been about 25 days since I harvested, and now it's time to do a tasting of the selected Black Jacks. Even though I already tasted them back then, I'm curious to see if the same characteristics have been maintained or if there have been any variations in the clone grow. I'll start with the two phenotypes that were first selected for the second part of the diary, and later I introduced phenotype 9 since I decided to expand the grow. There were 12 specimens and wow! the yield has been above gr/W so I feel super satisfied. Let's get to it. I did the tasting over several days to have multiple references, but I smoked all 3 on the same day since 3 joints aren't much effort for me haha. I did wait a bit between each joint to feel the effects a little. In any case, there’s plenty of Black Jack to go around, so if I find it appropriate to comment more about this wonderful strain, I'll leave it here in this thread. This time I did the tasting with herbal joints with cardboard. And it gave me a serious onion effect that you wouldn’t believe. BLACK JACK #PLANT1# -DESCRIPTION: As I could see in the first part of the diary, this pheno tends to branch a lot, and it was quite challenging to guide them since they suffered from excessive branching. Very green and vigorous plant. Clearly Haze dominant. Flowering 9 weeks. -AROMA: Very familiar smell, like the ones from back in the day. A bit muted, not skunky. I’d say it’s a very Haze phenotype. FLAVOR: A somewhat woody flavor with a spicy touch, gives a hint of hash. -EFFECTS: Very deep high, lots of thoughts, a strong desire to start things, I’d say it awakens a creative side. Sometimes a bit paranoid and can get into loops. Some tachycardia and euphoria. When it comes down, it leaves you very laid out. -PREDOMINANT TERPENES: Caryophyllene, Terpinolene, Carene, Myrcene BLACK JACK #PLANT6# -DESCRIPTION: Like its mama, this phenotype showed some purple hues but not as pronounced since the growing conditions were different in terms of temperatures.
