-Seeds were germinated directly in soil 2cm deep with 60ml of pH'd mineral water and covered with cling wrap for humidity. -Lights cycle: 18/6 - Seeds popped after 3-4 days, 100% germination -Cling wrap removed after germination -Day 1 of grow is 8/10/2020 -Day 1-4 seedlings were feed pH'd mineral water -Seedlings received their first nutrient feeding on day 5 -Nutrient water pH'd at 6.3 and oxygenated with air pump + air stone -Mycoroot was fed via top dressing Struggled to get the pH with in range, I had to mess around with pH up and down to get it in the range of 6.3. The growth looks good so far just a bit worried up about the colour of the leaves. Temp varied from 26C-28C and humidity ranged between 42-52%. I had to play around with the oscillating fan speeds and positioning as well as the amount of air inlet vents. I found that just having one opened helped get the humidity up and the temp had only a slight increase. I let the oscillating fan run on its lowest setting and put off its rotating function, I also made sure the fan was not directly hitting the plants which assisted with the humidity micro-climate. The distance of the HPS was at 90cm from top of plants after the popped out of the soil, this was readjusted to 60cm once true leaves were showing. They got the first nutrient feed on day 5.

things are right where they need to be, she is right on track. as far as what to do to make her better, i would say sit back and watch the show, just make sure not to over water during the first 3 weeks as this is where the roots develop into a small subway collect moisture so they grow and stretch. so no worries, your doing a good job

Start of Week 2 - Seedlings have stretched a bit (~8cm) due to the light being 90cms away from the plant the first to days of growth I adjusted it to approximately 60cm - We have 2 set of leaves at the start of day week 2 (day 8) - The humidity seems to be doing much better after adding extra containers of water and lightly misting the the top of the soil with pH'd water - I mixed my 2nd batch of nutes with no need to adjust the pH (6.2) - Last week added the amino-mix to my nute solution after already pHing the solution and struggles to adjust it after this week was much easier - I up'd the dose of Biogrow and Topmax as the plants seem to take well to the initial introductory feeding - Water has been bubbling for 2hrs - A day after the nutrient solution feed, please appear to be responding well 😁 Mid Week 2 - plants started showing signs of heat stress, leaves felt like paper, unhealthy yellow green -I moved the fans and misted the surface of the soil but showed no real signs of improvement End of Week 2 - I read that humic acid and kelp in combination help recover plant from heat stress so I added kelpak to my feed as top max already has humic acid - I also contacted Kelpak directly, (they manufacture kalpak in my city and export it world wide) - I installed a 300m^3/hr fan to replace the old one 90m^3/hr - I fitted a cool tube to my grow light and shorten the distance of ducting to the exhaust window - I added a cheap 45ml/h humidifier which runs while the lights are on - Temps dropped from 27- 31 C to 21-23C - Humidity increased by 2-5% - Plants are now showing a healthier green and do not feel like paper although they may need more time to recover.

Looks fine to me. You RH could be a bit higher during early veg. At 25c you can sit at 65%RH and the ladies will like it. Could be the reason for the leaves being a bit hard to the touch. Good luck the rest of the way.

- Managed to keep temps below 30C - Temp. ranges between 24C and 27 with lights on - Temp ranges between 20-24C with the lights off (during actual day time and its summer) - Gave its feed increase dose of nutrient solution, the response is good - After installing the cool tube and little humidifier as well as spraying the top soil lightly I managed to get the humidity up and temp down A little worried about the growth to be honest seems a bit slow but not 100% sure, I feel the stuff up with the temps and low humidity slowed the grow by a few days. Will be LST shortly.

Week 4 day 2 update: Growth seems to be very slow this week not very happy with the progress. I have ran into a number of problems since starting this grow but this is my first indoor setup and I am adjusting as I go along. I applied LST to the plants and by now I would of loved to have a few more branches ready to be trained however its not the case. I ran into what I think is a cal mag issue judging by the yellowing between the veins of the leaves. My 20L airpots are showing some thick and firm healthy looking white roots so I am very happy about that. My personal goal I wanted to achieve for this grow was to grow healthy roots. Now with regards to the leaves.... I feel that high temp and low humidity and calmag really hit me hard slowing my grow by 4days - 1 week. In my defense I was away for 4days and was not able to act on making any immediate amendments. I based my grow on the growweedeasy 250w tutorial but if you were to compare mine grow is trail behind by a week. Day 5 Growth has seem to increase, new growth looks much better than 3 days ago. I added CalMag to my feeds and reduced Nitrogen of my feeds I also altered my pH to 5.9. I am alot more happy with the feel of the leave and colour. My mistake was that my worked out nutrient schedule incorporated CalMag a week to late. My LST was terrible (just pulled the highest branch away from the light) so I corrected that by trying to keep the lower section of the stem up right and bend the highest branch trying to get a 90 degree bend of sorts and it worked more light has been exposed to the lower leaves and a canopy is beginning to form! Week 4 is about to come to an end and they are looking much healthier, I have already premixed my feed for week 5 and added some microbes they are bubbling away for tomorrows start of week 5. I will be revisting the LST and begin training other buds site to get a nice even spread of a canopy

Hi Martian_D, first of all, I noticed you already put some top-max from biobizz and that's an error. Top-max is for the flowering time. On the nutrients schedule from Biobizz, flowering time starts at week 3 but it actually just means first week of flowering. You wrote you grow soilless, it looks to me you are using soil no ? if yes, please write what soil you use please. My first though for the way your plant looks like is overwatering, it overall doesn't look healthy and the leaves are "droppy". According to you, they get 1.3 litres of water a day! With the current size of your plant, she definitely can't drink that all. It's a common mistake to overwater at the beginning (I did it too 😉). How often do you water the plant and how much each time?

Hi friend, I wouldn’t recommend you to defoliate your plant.I would say for auto flower the less the stress the better. You can still tuck in the fan leaves. You can exposed your lower bud sites by gently press the fan leaves and tucking them underneath the lower bud sites. All you have to do is do it everyday. You can also check in my diary.I didn’t defoliate my autos until week-7.All I do is LST and tucking leaves.Happy growing.. ✌️

- We hit signs of pre-flower mid to late of week 4 so we are full steam in the transition phase -This week I have adjusted my nutrients to accommodate for the up and coming flower stretch and general flowering but I have increase the veg nutrients by 1ml/l as from what I read the auto-flowers continue to veg in the early stages of flower - Revisited my LST and readjusted - Did a very slight defoliation will be removing 2 lower leaves every 2-3 days - grow environment seems to be stable with temps ranging from 25-27C and humidity ranging from 55-60% Nearing Week 5 I noticed some signs of over feeding so I, - Let the soil dry out a little bit -Toned down on the CalMag nitrate, TopMax and Biobloom I also revisted my LST doing my best to open up the canopy for undergrowth to rise to the top and to even out the canopy its self. They look good! I have been removing 2 leaves every 2-3 days from the bottom of the canopy. End of week 5 Zkittlez 1 is ahead in flowering but 2 and 3 have much more veg growth and size. I used a phone lux meter to help position the plants better. The lst has been doing nice soon an even canopy of bud sites will be present. Nextdoor neighbour has a plant growing but they don't know what they are doing it's just a seed thrown in a pot of random soil hardly watered, I am super scared it hermies or turns out male

Hey friend, I would say you are right on the track.Advice you to always maintain your pH and ppm(EC) all the times. In your diary, your tent humidity is about 60% and it’s good for vegetative stage. For flowering stage, you should lower down. That’s all I would like to suggest.Happy growing...

Added some lady bugs to the grow have about 7 of them, was a real mission hunting for them. The plants seem to be done by well. Zkittlez 1 is ahead of the other plants by 3 days easily, however they seem to be catching up to it and are much bigger that it. I am constantly having to adjust my light height each day. Tucking leaves has now become a daily task and a real mission the canopy is thick and some bud sites are covered I am hoping there is still a bit of stretch left in the plants regarding the lower bud sites.

This week we saw a good amount of stretch. As it stand zkittlez 1, zkittlez 3 and zkittlez 2 it terms of which would finish first. I feel that week 5-6 more defoliation should have occured tuck leaves has become a daily mission. I have did my best to make light for as many bud sites as possible. In future I need to work more and my lst training to get the canopy look much better. Zkittlez 1 seems to be ahead but is the shorter of the two. My total canopy is to big for my light to adequately cover it. The next three weeks should be the fattening and rippening stage of the grow. I plan to decrease veg mute and increase flowering nutes. Temps and humidity seem to be under control and I am feeding her between 2-3 times a weeks. There are roots from the surface of the soil to the bottom of the pot.

Definitely got some droopage going on.. if not watering habits... 35-40cm for some lights may not be enough. heat and humidity seem fine enough in diary. Unless you've changed any other cycle lately. for example, if you increase # of hours of light, this may cause that sort of reaction if it's too much or simply a big change... it would recover from the latter as it acclimates.

Spend a lot of time bending bug fan leaves to open up the canopy. Local pipe cleaners really helped. Zkittlez 1 calyxes are starting to shrivil inwards and change colour. Looks more sativa Zkittlez 2 calyxes are just about starting to thin. Looks more sativa Zkittlez 3 calyxes are thicker than the other two. Looks more indica. Lowering veg nutes and upping flowering nutes. Stopped feeding cal mag. Roots are boosting the entire pot is filled

This week was easy all plants are no longer stretching and guess full on into fattening. Packaging says plants should finish in 70-77 days but I'm doubting it, zkittlez 1 might finish on time. Zkittlez 1 and 3 are giving of a guava smell and zkittlez 2 smells very piney. Crystal production on zkittlez 3 is noticeable but not really on zkittlez 1 and 2, previously I did say that these to seem to be more and the sativa side of things compared to zkittlez 3

Those should take a while before flushing, btw flushing has been debunked, it causes nothing but the starvation of your plants near the end. Probably ready in a week for flush or about 3 for harvest, but it really just depends on the type of high you are looking to get from your buds. Stay lit growmie.

Can't get an exact date, but i would estimate about 3 weeks to go based on photos for mainly cloudy with some ambers, but it may happen faster, so ask again in a week or 2. Since u're in coco just keep the nutes at the current dose untill you know you only got 1 week to go and stop giving nutes by that point, stick to water only from that point on. Try to find a way to stabilize the camera and get focus on the bud to take a really close up photo and check if the cristals appear more detailed than in the picture in the growdiary, its hard because buds are really complex for a phone's camera but keeping the proper distance with the right zoom can do wonders, altho a macro shot would help out a lot more. You can let them get a lil bit more thristy next time at around week 7, just not dead, but a bit thirsty and it will help the plant produce more cannabinoids, terpenes and oils, and can get you an increase of thc of up to 50%. You can still do it but it would basically be like a trial, so if you do it do in just one and keep the others as a controll group, then check wich is the most potent and more intense version. You can also supplement with uv-B on further grows and it will also increase ur thc, just gotta take it slow or you risk burning the plant and the thc. https://journals.ashs.org/hortsci/view/journals/hortsci/54/5/article-p964.xml (published by american society for horticultural science) Stay lit growmie, them beauties are looking perfect, and getting even more ready by the day. 😀

End of week 11 not much bud growth going on. Plants took in notably less water this week. The fade is progressing with lower and mid fan leaves yellowing and a slight purple colour change for a few sugar leaves. Each plant has there own scent to them from an over ripe guava, pine and citrus. The "hairs" range from 50-60% and crystals are cloudy with some clear no amber crystals as yet. I started only feeding pH water to one of the plants and in week 12 I will be feeding all only water.

Every few days I have been taking off dying or very faded leaves. Plants have been drinking less than when they were paying during flowering. Plants dried in the pots for 2days then hang for 2weeks at 60-65%rh. Buds were dense in most cases, they ended up being three totally different phenos but over all the smell was strong and taste was sweet. Smoke was very smooth and the high was long last with a more cerebral effect and slight body buzz. There was an energetic but clear high with a bit of hd vision. The grow went well overall but not with out hiccups. 1. I ran into a calmag issues 2. I had a little heat stress 3. I added calcium magnesium nitrate which cause a bit of burn unknowingly 4. My LST was wack and so was my defoliation. My solutions were 1. Epsom salts 2. A cool tube and bigger extractor fan 3. Read and understand what I was putting in my soil 4. Watch and read up of proper LST... PRACTICE My next grow will be a fastbuds run very excited.

@Frenchie @DoDrugs420 and @GMSgrows I tried sending a DMs but not sure whats up does seem to be adding to my chat. So basically I am following a schedule based on Duckcommaders feeding chart for auto flowers using biobizz hence the use of the top max. The medium I am using is a coco-coir mix based on the description growdairies uses for soiless coco fell under it. I am from South Africa so there are not many choices regarding soil. I am using a Coco Coir, Worm Castings, Perlite (30%), Volcanic Rock Dust, Bone meal, Gypsum, Fermented probiotic bran mixture. Watering wise I water twice a week @1.3L per watering at a time (works out to 370ml per day) and wait for the soil to dry out to about my first knuckle, when I water there is no run off but the bottom of the fabric pot feel slighly damp to the touch. The pics you are seeing are taken with the lights off, I run them during the night to reduce heat problems RSA can get very hot and it is summer time this side. When the lights are on they are not droopy, also I am tucking my fan leaves. The plants are about 25cm long, I have noticed that the roots have grown all the way to the bottom of the fabric pots, they are a firm, thick and healthy looking white root, looks like the first tap root when germinating a seed maybe a bit thicker. I ph between 6.1 -6.5 and calibrate my pen before every watering, my water also bubbles for 2 days before I use it. I did have an issue with high temps and low humidity 31C and under 40%rH before I installed the cooltube. @Frenchie @DoDrugs420 and @GMSgrows please could you guys send me a dm if its not to much to ask🙏 and HIGHly appreciate your help thus far. @Martian_D, good decision, u may even notice how plants sweat some unprocessed chem nutes thru the leafs wich then dry out there and stick there for ever, giving for a really harsh smoking experience, its nearly unnoticiable in low dosages, but once u go over the limit you can clearly see how they act on the plant as you start noticing a clear shine of micro dots. Wich extra nutes are speaking off? Regarding your nute plan, looks good, just make sure u keep the top max out of the equation untill ur into 3rd week of flower, of mid of 2nd week of flower, when i use flower boosters i use them in really small proportions. Remember autoflowers require less nutrients than photodependent strains. Think of nutes as steroids for plants, u don't want to start off with a huge dose, u don't want to use too much overall, and giving too little nutrient dosages is better than giving too much. If u give too much u might overdose the plant, and you will have to run some plain water waterings inbetween feedings, but if you give it lower dosages you can sort of climb up slowly and once you find the sweet spot you just need to maintain it and choose to give just water or not depending on how she reacted to the last feeding.

So I decided to take a day time pic as it was confusing to some, thinking that the plants were to droopy. I took a pic of Day 26 the lights were on for about 30mins before the photoshoot. I also reduced my watering amount, dropped my pH to 5.9, began feeding CalMag, redid my LST and tucked away shading fan leaves the plants look much happier than on day 23. Thanks to @GMSgrows @DoDrugs420 and @Mrs_Larimar

Martian_Dcommented4 years ago
@GMSgrows, checked my plants and you were right little to hot for the plants. I had a few yellow tips. Good learning and will lower for the next feed, at the end of this grow things will be much better in tune for the next grow so I am happy

@Martian_D, When they actually start to flower is the first week of flower, so the 3rd to the 6th week, last 2 are late flower.
Martian_D
Martian_Dcommented4 years ago
@GMSgrows, sure will tone it down a bit , the plants so far do seems to be okay with it . Would mid flower be considered from week 6?

Next grow u might want to give a go at 9 pots of 11l/15l volume, up to 33x33 cm will fit perfectly, if its a little less its also cool, you can then add some tupperwares or something to create more space near the walls of the tent. If ur confident that they won't grow too much you might aswell go for 16 pots of 10l up to 25x25 cm so you get the training with multiple plants giving u more experience and you improve yields by A LOT. You can apply training techniques like topping, fimming, lst, hst and having multiple plants will help you se the difference, usually people dont supercrop auto's but check early weeks of "six shooter" if u wanna see a autoflower getting double suppercrop, pretty detailed description in week 4, ended up giving her away because after noticing the output of katana roots thru the leaves i did a early harvest in a branch and notice how harsh the smoke was so i just gave it away for a friend to dry it and smoke it, thus the unfinished diary and the 2 missing branches on the last week before harvest. They're looking good btw. P.s. u might want to drop that RH from 72% to any value between 62.5% and 52.5%, based on ur temps, this just to make sure she gets optimal transpiration for the stage shes at wich by now is late veg.

@DoDrugs420, 100%. This setup will be a constant working progress. Next steps are a EC pen, LED light and a dehumidifier. I have built a humidifier in the past for growing oyster mushrooms so it just needs some minor repairs and it will be good to go. The cooltube and having lights on at night is helping out at keeping the temps below 30C. Here is South Africa we can get up to +35C easy during the summer time and even late spring time

@Martian_D, if the humidity is only set for the night, i wouldnt bother with it, had humidty at 99% levels all the nights thru winter and gettint back at it now as winter sets in, the thing is, during the night they dont do photosyntesys, so they dont transpire, therefor as long as during the day you can get to the needed conditions of RH there should be no mold or fungus type stuff coming onto ur plants, u can just leave a heater on even if at a low level near the inlet during the night to dry the air a lil bit right before it enters the tent. Dehumidifier id a great idea, got one for 50€, went back the next dat and bought a 150€ one, don't regreat it one bit. Dehumidifier or not you can defenitly scale up your grow.
Martian_D
Martian_Dcommented4 years ago
@DoDrugs420, after the lights are on for a while the humidity drops to about 60-50%. That photo was taken roughly 30mins after the lights had gone on and the humidity slowly started coming down into the range that you suggested. Yes that is a great idea my question is would I not run into some high humidity with so many plants? Still have to buy or make a dehumidifier. The plants have just started showing signs of pre-flower. Thanks for the complement hopefully they start filling up the space and I get a nice canopy of bud sites!

Hey Martian_D. Yeah for some reason trying to PM new people isnt working. No messages coming through and when I try to pm the message just dissapears. So may have to just help you out in the question section. I'm on in the mornings usually, if I see a question, I will give you my 2 cents. Cheers my friend

@Martian_D, it all depends on how fast they grow out, how big they get and how vigorously they flower. I would have some flower nutes on hand just in case you need them. I myself am not an auto fan as running my lights an extra 6 hours in flower time would cost way to much for this guys pension.

@GMSgrows, thanks for the info. I am planning on doing my next grow using this mix. I will be sticking to autos as they are less forgiving if not done right imo and more challenging, I do not even smoke I just want to grow for the love of it, experience and experimentation. My wife and friends get the buds. I thought of doing them in a solo cup planted directly into the soil so that the have time to grow in a seedling mix and there after as they mature make their way into the nute dense soil, like an intra-transplant of sorts. Do you think that this soil may need additional nutes or amendments? I do not have a ec pen as yet so I am a little blind regarding ec.
GMSgrows
GMSgrowscommented4 years ago
@Martian_D, Sounds like a good soil with plenty of food for some time. I found using similar product you need to put a plant into that mix after they have developed some roots and starter leaves, otherwise it's to hot for the babies. To hot meaning to much nutes. I always start my babies in nutramix hp because they need fed after the first 3 days of life. After a week or two of being fed at 400 ppm 0.8 ec I would then transplant the babies to their new home., if I didnt choose to grow them out in the nutramix. Growing in nutramix is a form of hydroponics, very quick turn over compared to soil growing. Cheers

it's looking good. For the flowering time announced, I nearly every time have to wait at least a week more. At the end, look at the trichomes production for best appreciation of harvest time.

Looking great. One thing i will say is it's not a good idea to add PH up and down together so it's best to get it right to start with. An easy way to do it if you're making up small batches is to add a few drops of up or down to 1lt of water, and use that water to adjust your PH levels so that you're using a dilute version of up or down. Hope this helps
Martian_D
Martian_Dcommented4 years ago
@HighFromHome, that is actually a great idea. Geez I never thought of a diluted version of the pH down! Shot a lot for that one. I also read that I should give the pH + or - 10 to 15mins to do their thing before checking the pH levels.
