Fat Banana! I have heard good things! I'm such a noob but love variety so trying a couple strains over the course of the next 3 months to see what works.
All was well until my heaters thermostat malfunctioned and semi cooked the new seedlings. When I made my inspection, the tent was at 48C and 30%RH. They are growing in the same tent as my other diary. I'm trying a wild monthly harvest of 2 plants in an 80x80x210cm tent. Wish me luck.
As you can see one seedling looks a gonner. The other seems to have survived the shock. Ill leave them both a little while and see if there is any growth. Really hope they both bounce back.
Is it strange that I feel like a bad parent for not paying them more attention. I didn't check the tent for 2 days and could have caught the issue a little sooner alas.
Follow for more updates as I bundle my way through to harvest and hit me with any tips and feedback.
doesn't loo dead... keep it up and off wet soil and see what happens. don't know what options you have. another seed or cutting / room for 3 if it does survive etc... just cover your bases for the area you need to fill so as not to waste electricity=money or time/effort.
2 weeks in. Asterix died for sure. Such a shame. Have decided to let Obelix go on his own. Done virtually nothing this week except check Temp and RH. All fine just a little water.
Onwards!
Nothing to report. Little guy is going fine. Another week and I will look at re-potting into final pot.
Also decided to start nuits now to try and maximise yield. I'm normally a bit reluctant but going for it.
Onwards!
I missed a weeks updates, but not really much to say.
This last 2 weeks I have transplanted into the final 11L airpot. I have started feeding nuits and have topped the plant, twice (Second top not seen in photo). Ambitious I know. My other diary I topped a plant and it seems to be working a treat, so hoping that having 4 main colas will better the yield as the plants are responding really well to the stress. Not sure what will happen but it's all a learning curve for me.
I have increased the lights on time as-well hoping for better growth as my lights may be lacking oomf.
Onwards and upwards.
End of week 6.
The double top seems to have worked to a degree.
Delighted to see that Obelix is now flowering, and will revert to bloom nuits this week. I wish he was taller as I have lots of vertical space to play with. But I suspect that my light directly above is too weak (40Watt LED). I may need to invest in another 600Watt as I am working on 2 sides of my tent.
All in all looking good, just need to stretch him out.
Missed a week due to being ultra busy. Have just managed to get my watering in.
As with my other grow, I have had to deal with what I think is spider mites. I have sprinkled with Diatomaceous Earth, a little Neem Oil, a clean up in the tent and I have ordered a better fan.
Not overly satisfied with the size of him at this stage, looking like a few popcorn nugs to come. Maybe double top is not the one. But this plant seems to have flowered on time and might be a better option then the Northern Lights Auto which are taking their sweet time.
My only deduction for the lack of growth is the low level of light. It is currently sitting under a 40w Led tray which is not great. My idea was to harvest the other 2 plants and have him under my 600w light by this point but thats not going to happen, so have ordered an additional light to replace the 40w one. It might also be suffering a little from the 12/12 light cycle I have switched to for an accidental photoperiod in the tent.
Onwards and upwards.
So Obelix is benefiting from some improved light. An upgrade to 600W from the 40W that was feeding it before. It has only been 24 hours since so will hopefully see a bit of a stretch in the kext week or so.
He's not suffering from the pest issue as much as the other plants in the tent but I am using the fine earth and NeemOil to keep them off.
I have also improved the air circulation with a better fan.
Thankfully when I have really high temps and low humidity (30C and RH30%) he didn't suffer as much as the two 13week plants i have in there.
Onwards and upwards!
Not sure whats wrong with this guy. Hasn't grown or stretch an inch for the last couple of weeks. I don't think it will get much bigger. It has been topper twice and had some mites and over heating issues so not the easiest of lives, but in comparison to 2 others in the same tent, it's pretty stunted.
Will persevere and see how he finishes up.
Onwards and upwards
Week 11 done. Please excuse the shoddy photos. Still no growth but looks like the buds are developing. I have shifted things around and there is much better air circulation and less signs of pests which annoyingly I think are thripes not mites. But looks fairly under control.
I have been watering with fresh water and nuits alternatively.
It's not going to be the best grow but I have had plenty of issues.
Lets see what happens.
