Would already like to have visible roots but not late, yet. 😐 Next cycle will probably be using R.O. water instead of tap. Reservoir amendments, Hades Down (NFTG) PH down to 5.9-6, 1 tsp of Extreme Gardening Azos (Azospirillum brasilense.) Reservoir kept between 68°F and 74°F. Water ppm @ 400 - due to phing. Room ambient between 72°F - 80°F.
Didn't hold much green in the leaves while in the cloning chamber, the roots were approx 5" - 7" in length at transplant. Forgot to get a picture of the chamber with all the dangling roots. Next time I won't forget.
Since they didn't have actual buttons for the lights I use.
HLG-135 B-spec for Veg tuned to approx 350 ppfd at 15-16" from the tops of the plants.
Entering Week 2 of vegging in the soil.
Started doing Bloom Khaos Foliar sprays on feeding day at full strength. On non-feeding days they get foliar of Dr. Growth. Following the Nectar for the Gods feeding philosophy of "Feed, feed, tea, feed, feed, flush." They get the tea's once every other week, a flush every other week, and two feedings per week. The feedings at teas are currently 16oz. Foliar Sprays three times a day and once and hour before lights on.
Planning to start LST in the next two weeks in preparation for mainlining.
The week of hell. Alternating Bloom Khaos and Dr. Root / Pegasus Potion for foliar feedings, about 6 times a day or 3 each. Applied HST late in week 2, and bent them to get my two main branches started. They grew to 3" off the edge of the pot so I had to top them. They're recovering from the stress nicely, holding a deep green and rapid top growth. Only drinking every 3-4 days still. Root development should be a week off to where they're drinking approx a quart every other day. Keeping the lights around 500ppfd. Their older aunts are maturing nicely at two weeks out from harvest, a little early November surprise, this strain has a bit of purps in it.
... but you'll have to wait until Week 6 of flower.
They've recovered from the mainlining and topping stress nicely. I'm not doing anything to them for the next few weeks but they will get lollipopped before going into flower. Currently running 3X a day foliar sprays of Pegasus, Athena's, and Dr. Growth. On feeding days they get and extra 3X foliar feeding of Bloom Khaos. The next three - four weeks will be nearly all vertical growth of the 8 branches per plant. The future mom hasn't been chosen yet, but it's down to two that have somewhat uneven splits. All 4 are healthy and happy. Anticipating between 3-4 weeks of veg left before flipping. I'd like them at least 12 inches off the soil line.
If they look a little shiny, they got a foliar feed about 20 minutes before pictures. Most the water dried up but I was hoping to get some W.A.P. pictures. I love me some W.A.P. Wet Ass Plants. 😻
It's been a hard week for all of us. Lost a family member to Covid-19 that's why I'm late with the update, still late week 6 but just barely.
Girls got a little bit too much light this week. A week before thanksgiving, I harvested their older aunts (first Think Fast harvest) and was quite happy with the yield. Move the girls all into the "flower closet' for the time being while the older plants dried in the veg closet. I put the HLG at around 800ppfd to see how they would react and I got a little leaf burn, so these girls do not like to go above 600-700 ppfd even in late veg. Continuing to lollipop the three flower girls, mom is completely done training and is producing the next clones for the perpetual cycle.
Probably going to flower in roughly a week to 11 days at most, they're putting on between .5 and a full inch every day and they're just going to take off faster from here. Other than some leaf burn that will mean nothing to the 2 foot tall plants I'll have in 4 weeks, they're quite happy. Sorry for the late pics and update. I was all happy and bouncy at my harvest dry weight at the end of the week and within an hour the phone ran with a kick to the gut, so things fell off the rails a bit for the update.
Fortunately the plants didn't really suffer from my other obligation. I had a picture of the dried bud but decided I'm not going to ruin how pretty these buds look before this journals harvest. 😇
Construction had needed to happen for quite some time, this diary was motivation for improving the conditions for the plants. For giggles I put a H.L.G. light sticker on the floor before pouring the epoxy. So yay Branding! Hey HLG wanna sponsor? Wink-WInk. I got the idea to do the epoxy resin floor from GrowMau5's youtube channel. The last video he posted before he ghosted, I really would have liked to see the conclusion of his grow room construction.
The plants are actually doing quite well. They're sitting at about 13 inches off the soil line. Recovering from stress nicely. I had to take the week and rebuild the flower side of the closet. Six years of plants had taken a toll on the floor. Continuing their foliar feeding (Pegasus and Kraken + Dr. Growth) and for the soil drenches they continue to get the Greek schedule.
Transplanted the girls into their final 5 gallon pots. Continuing to lollipop to 8 tops per plant. They're getting the "Late Veg" schedule from the greek chart + an extra 5ml of Gaia to get them ready for flower. The next update will be in flower and they will have started the stretch. Looking good, running a bit behind where I wanted due to the flower room rebuild. It's done and I'm very happy with the results. The floor is level, the closet is light tight at night, and the light is out of the old HID lamps position and put in a better position for the led throw. Cloning from mom is happening this week and she'll be chopped to pieces. I learned a long time ago that flowering 4 in this closet is nearly impossible so every cycle gets a sacrificial mom.
Flower Week 1 End
Started the week out with a dose of Cultured Biologix Bloom Tea, with the usual SLF100 as well as some Pegasus Potion and Mega Morpheus. Feedings are Greek Regimine +Tritans&Perseph. Tops have been bent to give the first flower branches plenty of light. Starting to spread out and fill the room nicely. Got the wire management done in the flower room and everything's wonderfully light and air tight now when I need it to be. Getting RH in the 40%'s and sometimes lower right now, light is hitting around 1500 ppfd and not showing any heat or light stress signs yet.
Plant #4 has been sacrificed as a mom and she's given 25 cuttings of which I will only need 4. Roots popped day 8 in the chamber, when the get a pot of soil they'll get a journal to Think Faster. 😏
