Pre-chop update - so here we are, super fast forward to the finish and all the girls are done. At least for the most part. The outdoor at our other property is just do’n it’s thing. No idea what we have there and haven’t seen it all season. Not expecting much as the growing conditions are pretty tough around there. As far as the others are concerned;
- the Cali-orange is by far the biggest and a monster of a plant at that. She’s been colouring up on the fade for a few days now and while I would’ve like to push er a little more, we can’t risk the potential frost and we’re already battling the start of a late stage aphid infestation. Got lucky there for the most part - they arrived much later in the season than they have in previous years. Just a gorgeous plant this is, with a ton of massive buds.👍😎👍😎
- the big bomb was suppose to be the signature mainline of this years outdoor. While it was a successful grow overall, we were battling a heavy nitro deficiency almost from the very first week of transition. The biotabs regimen + compost tea just couldn’t keep up and we ended up spike’n er with whatever tomatoe nutes we had kickn around the garden at the time. She made it to the finish but also ended up catching a little bit of the late stage aphids too👎.
- for being the smallest of the lot and only contained in a 5gal pot the Pure Africa put out some serious weight. Pretty green buds with a piney sorta profile. Should be interesting, she’s touted as a pure sativa.
- oh the sugar breath. This plant was a deformed mutant pretty much from day one. A lot of people (including me) woulda tossed her for something that grew a little more normal but I was lazy and let er live. What a great indecision. This girl, despite her weird leaves is a resinous beast of a plant. Probably the fattest bugs of the lot and definitely the prettiest to boot I think👍😎👍😎. Either way, we might have something special here but only the smoke will tell.
Now it’s to all the work washing and trimming. We’re gonna assembly line it this year and hopefully it’ll be a little less tedious. Here’s to beers and shears y’all🤟. Fuckn jazz hands!🙌
Background
Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! It’s been a shit fuck of a summer, and year for that matter - so haven’t had a ton of time to get at this diary. Pay no attention to the nutrient amounts - it was supposed to be an organic biotabs grow but the medium shit the bed by early flower and we had to supplement with whatever was available.
That said, it’s one helluva line up this year with a couple from HSO and Seedsman, mixed with a sprinkle of OSS and BombSeeds👍😎👍😎👍. We’re runn’n the BigBomb on a mainline that we expect to get super tall. We’re also topping the Sugar Breathe. Other than that, everything else is au naturelle😎😎😎. If just half of the crop is successful this year, we should be set in terms of variety and stock for the next year. That includes offloading free green to family and friends. As always, what would the outdoor season be without the blatantly obvious, half exposed plant at the side of the house (that’s also as tall as the roof)😬😬😬. Here’s hope’n for a quality season y’all.
@NatureBoyNeo, it was always the plan to do that but never really materialized. We start most of our outdoor stuff including veggies and tomatoes inside each spring so we find ourselves timing every other indoor cycle against that. Still runn’n the indoor year round, just not exactly perpetual. 👍👊
