This week was good, great temp but the humidity was pretty low down in the low 30s at one point. Aside from that I defoliated all the lower growth and FIMMed most of the tops that I wanted to see more growth happen on.

Grow Questions

How many times can I defoliate during flower or how often can I do it? Beginning of week 3 and I've defoliated heavily twice already but the canopy is overly thick again. Will I stress my flowering girls if I keep the defoliation at every 10 days?

After week 3 I would try and not remove anything unless you have too. Tuck, tuck, tuck...lol you will stress your plants and slow them down ultimately defeating your purpose in the first place. I try not to take anything after week 2 of flower. Hope this helps, Cheers💨

I think something went wrong with this grow, or perhaps it was a bad pheno. Im currently running the big bazooka strain and it should not have taken so long for your flowers to appear. In my case pistils started appearing by the end of week 1 flower, and by day 13 I already had some bud set and went in and did a full defoliation. By the end of week 3 Ive almost got buds the size of your final shots here, although they are not nearly as mature as yours look. At the same time, we have vastly different lighting and medium and nutrients so maybe that made a difference as well. Im running a 1000W HPS that was set at 600W through most of Veg, 750W through stretch and now running the full 1000W in week 4 of flower. A friend of mine is growing clones from the same mother as I am and is 3 weeks ahead of me with buds around 2inches wide or more. As for defoliation, in my case I tried not to defoliate much at all until close to flower when I did my lolipopping a little bit at a time while following a modified Kyle Kushman style of removing the lower bud sites, but leaving some of the lower fans to try to stress the plant less during week 1 flower. I then fully stripped all but the uppermost fans at the end of week 2 and the plants bounced right back and by the end of week 3 I had 2 cm flowers on all my tops and they are just getting fatter by the day.

@Greenbum, I was thinking the same thing about a possible light leak. It would explain both the hermies and the slow flower development. Thanks and I hope you have better results in March. Good luck with your harvest. Cheers

@xtRaCorTx, The pistils took longer to appear on mine than expected but I have no idea why. I didn't flush before switching to flower or maybe there was a light leak I overlooked which I will be observing next time I can sit in the tent. I didn't defoliate as heavy as you did which also may have made the difference. I am trying different techniques each grow to see how they react. I will be growing this strain again in March so we will see if the heavier defoliation helps. I will be watching your journal. Hope you have a clean grow.
