Pure AK from female seeds, gonna pop one and see what I get. Havent had any AK in years, so this should be a fun little experiment for sure. New ladies are always fun!
Oct 12- its been 24 hours and she already cracked open. Awesome. In the dirt and off to her spot to grow big and strong.
Oops. Looks like I missed a week there....ak is doing great..shes to the point where I wanna put her into a 1/2 gallon or gallon pot. Let her grow and wait for her to sex herself and then I can clone and flower some pure ak!
Gave her a bigger pot. Moved from the solo cup to a 1 gallon. She looks really nice already. Couple weeks til she shows her sex, though she's feminized so 99 per ent of the time you'll get the female. Always gotta check though! Hermies happen sometimes, and though rare...it has happened where a male will still show up too. Better safe than sorry!
Looks really nice. She is starting to grow upwards a lot more now that she's been in her new pot for a week. Likes the extra room over that solo cup for sure. Hasnt shown her sex yet, but we're getting to that time so any day now and she should show her hairs!
Pure AK is finally showing her sex! Now it'll be a week or so until she has side branches big enough to make clones from and then she will.be going through the flower tent to give me some.delixious AK47! First run with her, hopefully she continues to be a breeze!
Taller and taller the pure AK goes. Shes shown her sex, has some good lateral branching that ill make clones from on the next batch. Which means shes closer and closer to getting her own spot in the flower tent. I was gonna do another run of zombie death fuck and a run of grandaddy confidential, but I think this pure AK might take one of their places!
Missed a few weeks, but pure ak is looking great. Was able to take a few clones off of her. Put her into a 7 gallon fabric pot, and gave her a couple weeks to vegg out. She got a bit taller that I normally let them get before the flower tent, so I may be in for some wrangling the next couple weeks. Stay healthy and safe yall!
Just started to show white hairs all over today! Thats exciting. Shes looking really nice, dark green, purple hies to her stems. A real looker for sure. Cant wait to see where she ends up!
There's a new king in the tent! Pure AK has really shot up the last week and is a good foot taller than the fire it up. I'm really glad to see her taking off. First time I've grown this strain and I was worried I let her veg too long. But its looking as though those worries were ill founded, as AK is doing and looking phenomenal. Cant wait to see what she does in the coming weeks!
Huge! Not as tall as say a golden tiger x Panama or an original haze, but still a big girl! Biggest in the tent easily. Looks like she will have big buds to match her big stature. I'm already impressed and she's only been going for a couple weeks!
Smells like ponesol while growing. She didn't stretch as much as I thought she would, so when I do another run I'll let her get a bit bigger than I normally let my sativa heavy strains get before I put her into flower. Breeze to grow, not a bug fan on nutes. Anytime I gave her dome.before week 4 of flower she looked like.she didn't like it much, or I gave her too much but I was down to.like ten percent of what I normally do and still burned tips! Gonna have to.do.someore runs with her to.figure out what she likes, cause I know I can get better results than I i got with this one.
Pure AK was super easy to grow. She gets this weird kinda pyramid shaped nug structure which I've never encountered before. Has a nice mellow high. Not overpowering so you can smoke and get some stuff done without forgetting what you're doing every 5 secs. Lasts a good couple hours too so.isnt the longest high, but isn't fleeting either. Has a nice citrus smell, like a pinesol cleaner almost. Good for bringing to a party cause the party keeps going! Does give you super cotton mouth and red eye like crazy 🤪😜🤪
Pure AK is simply fun to grow. It's also easy to grow, flowers fast, produces great yields, contains THC amounts that rival the medical cannabis I get from the dispensary, and is very forgiving. I make plenty of mistakes and Pure AK still seems to thrive. In fact the more I neglect it (within reason) the better it seems to do.
So what's wrong with this strain? My only complaint is the odor. It's incredibly difficult to control. I'm using multiple cannister air filters and it's still rather obvious I'm growing weed for anyone who knows what the flower stage smells like. I am on my 4th grow so obviously I am living with the strong smell and accepting the trade-off.
If you want to grow on the DL, this is definitely not your best choice because of the odor. If that's not a concern for you, I would definitely add this to your list of strains to try. It's also a very fast way to replenish your stash - the yields are just fantastic especially if you top it, train it, and SCROG. If patience isn't a virtue of yours (I admit to lacking that myself sometimes) this is a great choice because in 3-4 months you can be enjoying the results. Faster if you don't veg as long (but I would veg at least 4 weeks - I go way longer because one plant in a big pot can fill a 2x4 grow tent easily).
