Week 1 begins.
Oct.15/20 Seeds in papaertowel method.
Works for me.
24hrs and I can see tap root beginning to expose itself.
Day 3 - Seeds into solo cup for seedling stage. Sunblaster T5 Greenhouse.
Out of town this week, therefore, I'll soak them well and return with update.
Oct.23
All is well since return from week away at work.
Typical growth with lanky beginning as they stretch towards light.
Solo cups topped up with peat and coco.
Oct. 28
13 days from seed. Progressing well.😀
Slow and steady.
Have since changed from Sunblaster T5 Greenhouse to MarsSP3000 24" at 75% power.
Roots beginning to show on solo cup base.
Transplant upcoming soon.
Transplanted to 1 gallon transplant pot (see pic of pot: found at walmart).
These babies are short with extremely tight nodal spacing. 3 inches and 4th node set beginning.
Week 4 starts.
Nov 12/20
Plants are healthy and will likely be given this week to recover from topping before transplanting to final pot with lst training. Still debating smart pot size. 5,7,10
Supersoil is the goal. Made a few months back in preparation for desirable buds for me.😀
Nov. 19/20
Transplanted these 2 beauties into 7g smart pot. Roots had filled 1g transplant pot nicely.
Using supersoil filled 3/4 of 7g, rest with base leaving some room for topdress later. About 3inch.
Mars Sp3000 appears to be a great light. No complaints at this point. Still running at 75% during veg.
I will soon begin low stress training as the days progress along with some defoliation.
Nov.28/20
This week started with topping and a defoliation. 2 days ago.
All is well, no signs of any concerns and both plants appear to have accepted the training well.
Dec. 4/20
All is well. Healthy!
Growth is steady for nothing but amended soil/supersoil and just plain old well water.
Absolutely no complaints.
3rd node beginning on tops, every couple days I make sure tops are equally close in height train as needed.
Wont be too much longer till flip.
I may brew ACT this weekend, simply to add some kick in preperation for preflower.
Dec. 10/20
So another healthy week has passed.
Switch to flower has begun.
I will continue to train during preflower stretch and nurture as required.
I've read that allowing this strain little extra time in veg is beneficial, however, as this is first time LED grow I'm going with the flow and not worried about quantity and moreso curious of the quality and outcome. Light intensity will gradually be increased over next week.
As we progress, I will obviously gain a better knowledge of this strain and its capabilities then maybe put the next 3 seeds into production.
Still water only, no signs of concern.
Time will tell.
Dec 17/20
Another calm, kosher week.
Some plain H2O as usual.
A defoliation is due in the near future as they bush up with their short/stout stature.
Updated.
Removed larger fans. Dec 19/20
And we're focused on the left and middle. One on right is freebie from Attitude - G13 Maltezerz.
Dec 24/20
Start week 3 flower
Another amazing week. Things are beautiful.
I realize that yes, this strain is one to veg out longer.
Plant on left just has next to no stretch and the middle stretched very little.
Decided finally to add a little boost Top dress 2 tbsp of UCann Abundant Bloom. Recommended for my pot size is 4tbsp but I've yet to see any deficiencies. Just keeping my plants and soil happy.
Light is 100%, 20 inches+
Week 4 flower start
Dec. 31/20
Absolutely enjoying this! Easy care and maintenance. Awesome crowning beginning around colas.
I did give a compost tea last watering to boost soil properties, and keep everything lush. Bloom tea is a recipe found online/in a book.
As first time LED user, I must say, I am quite impressed thus far with the Mars SP3000. Enough so I'm considering a 2nd (2 in 4x4)
Happy New Year.
Jan. 7/20
Another week passes and another begins.
Well, focus here is the kerosene on the left. The runt on the left in previous weeks was gifted away leaving room for a freebie G13 Maltezerz to offer variety and space. Sucks, but I enjoy variety and finding that potential go to and these weren't the cheapest. .
As for my krash course, shes slowed down growth for sure, but appears to be thickening up. Slowly ofcourse.
Dutch Passion has done a great job describing this strain.
Regular watering maintenance.
Jan 14/21
Week 6 flower start.
Things appear to be going well.
Kerosene Krash is thickening up. Definately happy about that since this pheno stayed squat and should have been veg'd longer.
She's putting on some nice glitter.
I believe shes beginning to get fall color on leaves. Nighttime temps are down but root zone stable.
And my freebie filler G13 Maltezerz is just doing fantastic as well.
Top Dressed with half dose Ucann.
I figure about 3 weeks to go.
Jan 21/21
Week 7 flower start
Things are progressing extremely well.
Pistols changed fairly quick last week.
I will be keeping on eye on her as it shouldnt be much longer.
Plain water given at time of photos as we can see they are thirsty.
Update Jan.25/21
Carson microbrite and a phone are hard as hell to get a stable pic...LOL, but she's pretty much ready.
If you read DP's description , it's so helpful and true I wish every breeder did that.
Based on what the makers suggest, I am gonna let this go a little while longer anyhow.
Jan.28/21
Week 8 start.
So this baby is getting yanked in the next day or two.
I checked trichs tonight and were looking about 30%-40% amber.
Nugs are rock hard.
The only thing I could have wished for was a better understanding of the size.
Next time, there will most definately be a longer veg time to increase overall yields.
.
This was definately worth it. Although this was a straight up learning experience, I do not regret it.
All the years of reading, seeing, smoking and now growing indoors with the help of diaries, and "guru" articles, I'm hooked and this.strain will be grown again!!!
This was a tiny plant in shear size but netted 44g of what you see (tight, frosted, chunky little nugs).
Diesel and earthy taste, and the exhale has like a sweet/tropical vibe. Excellent smoke. For an every day toker this strain is great, solid balanced high.
Let the adventures begin.
Good Luck All!
44g of great quality bud.
Harvested on day 53
Dried 7 days at 67degrees 30%humidity
Jar with boveda
May 30th- still smoking some of this and it's fantastic. Taste and potency combined are top notch.
@MangoDudu, the method works indeed. but the mistake made here is that the plants are grown in plastic pots first. I dont know if this grower has cut the bottom of them, or just put them there.. No matter what he did, its not sooo great.. The grower should have started in textile pots and then put those inside a bigger textile. I do that. I start with 3 gallon and set them into 15 gallons. If you look at my diary (also growing this cultivar from Dutch Passion) then you will see how it works and how well it works. I had roots growing out of my 15 gallons in just 2 weeks.
When that is said.. This growers main issue, is very poor light, in my opinion.
@Eclectic_Bloomz, I think the only convenient way to use them is to open it and push the plant out with your hand from the bottom hole and not tilt the plant, certainly not to put two pots in one plant
@Eclectic_Bloomz, have watched it, and i’ve do some irony don’t take it personally please. But i will cut rhe tongue of the guy who invented a shame like this, ok maybe it can work but u go against nature and against phisics to get a good root ball and good results.
If u want an easy transplant take airpot, unroll them and put the plant into the next pot, thing like this are only marketing. What is difficult in a transplant? Why people don’t just cut the bottom and put in another pot? It will root bound in the smaller pot , watering will be a finger in the ass. Not a good deal
@Eclectic_Bloomz, I just bought one too. Paid similar enough €400, which should be about €550 CAD give or take.
Coco for cannabis is really good. I appreciate the scientific ethos they use, no bro science there 😂
@GuerrillaNo_4,
I'm impressed with it mind u I have only hps to compare with.
I ordered a 2nd for an upgrade to bigger space/more plants/ridiculous light coverage
Here in Canada, I got it for about 525.
I was hesitant to buy at first also.
Check out cocoforcannabis' light review, after all my searching, this was the light I bought.
it says you water them almost 4 liter per plant a day.. watch out, i would assume that was too much and that they pots would stay wet for at least 3-4 days after that volume is fed to them.
@Smokenhagen420,
Thanks for catching volume error and yes I do weight check with pots.
As for the pots, yes, bottoms were removed.
As for lighting. First time led user, and I read lots about led being brighter/intense which is why I'm running at 75% roughly 20 inches above canopy. All reviews seen about this light say par test is ideal 20inches at 100% power.
I'm open to suggestions/advice most definately, so thank you.
