>> SEEDS << FastBuds - Auto OG Kush This was a free seed that came with a different seed order, so I popped it without much knowledge of the actual strain or seed, other than recognising the OG Kush name. Here is FastBuds official blurb: "The most powerful autoflower strain from Fast Buds Originals! She is easy to grow making her a wise choice for beginner growers. She has an extremely loud terpene profile consisting of pine, citrus with an overpowering pungency. A true expression of the world-famous O.G Kush, this autoflowering hybrid will test up to 23% THC making her a contender for the strongest strain on our Original Line. Thanks to her Californian heritage, this lady is used to hot days and cold nights so will perform with exceeding exception results in all types of climates. Due to her highly potent and sleepy effect, she is best suited for smokers with a high tolerance and those who enjoy long-lasting couch-lock effects." I recognise the name from a good couple of smokes I've had before, so I was pretty happy to have got this seed as a freebie and am looking forward to the grow. As this is my first grow, I'm not doing anything special, no LST or anything. I just want to take a plant from seed to jar, keep it simple and build up some experience, so completing the harvest is my only real goal. >> EQUIPMENT << I keep things pretty Lo-Fi: 7 Litre Plastic Pot Cheap potting soil from B&Q Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed Bio-Bizz Grow Bio-Bizz Bloom Fecida CR600 125w LED I grow in the Space Cupboard, a broom cupboard in my kitchen with the walls wrapped in survival blankets. It's small, but it's stealthy and convenient. >> GERMINATION TIMELINE << Germination for this girl was a bit different.. I dropped her straight into soil which is not my usual but since I hadn't done much growing before this, I just went with it. After 4-5 days of not seeing a sprout, I thought she had not taken, so I dug up the seed and tossed it to one side and forgot about it. Two days later, I opened my cupboard to find that the seed had somehow still managed to sprout into the soil where I had discarded her, so she didn't have the best beginning! Still, since there was a sprout I figured might as well see where it leads...

I was late to finding GrowDiaries, so hadn't documented the early weeks of this grow well, but I found some old photos so I can add a few to this week.

I feel like this girl is doing well despite having the worst possible start to life. I'm pretty impressed honestly. She has a quite interesting mutation on one of her side branches, where she had a triple leaf freakout, but that's kinda cool and she appeared to have righted herself after the next node.

Day 22 - This little beast is still going strong, I really like how healthy her fan leaves look, especially given her poor start. Not doing much special right now, she's starting to show the first signs of flower, so hoping she'll stretch a bit over the next couple weeks. Day 24 - Pretty much on auto-pilot with this girl now. Her flowers started really popping up now and the last couple of days she's stretched a fair way, vertical growth seems to be full steam ahead. Just feeding her, alternating between plain water and the Maxigrow Liquid Seaweed. Day 27 - I introduced a low dosage of Plant Magic Oldtimer Bloom to her feed today in prep for next week where I'm going to drop the liquid seaweed and ramp up Oldtimer Bloom. I'm still really amazed at how strong and healthy this plant has become given how she was such a runt in the first week or so of her growth. She's stretching a fair bit, but nothing like the Devil Cream I'm growing alongside and she seems to be staying much bushier and stockier. That said, she's got some nice side stems that are growing to a decent size which is cool, considering I did no training whatsoever. I really like this strain to grow so far, so easy its ridiculous.

Start of the week and she seems to be getting right into flower now, there's a fair few bud sites popping up all over. She hasn't stretched near as much as the Devil Cream, but still doubled in height over the past couple weeks. I actually prefer how bushy she is. As for What I'm doing, pretty much on auto-pilot now, just watering once every day almost, or every day and a half. I've switched her over to Oldtimer Bloom but rather than worry about starting it at half strength, thought I'd just go in full whack and see how it goes. She doesn't seem to mind it at all so far. Day 31 - Still going really well and super easy to grow. She has a few mutations that she's carried since day 1 really, the latest is a weird 11 fingered leaf that has three fingers from one space. Otherwise seeming really healthy though and flowers are coming on. Day 33 - Still really loving this plant. Her stretch is staying low and bushy which is real nice for my space and she seems like she's not going to go above 90cm as she's already slowing right down in the low 80s. She's been developing a really nice scent these last couple of weeks and it's getting a really traditionally pine-skunky type of vibe, which I love. Its mad how much more she smells than the Devil Cream growing right next to her, that's covered in bud and trichomes but almost scent-free unless you get your face right up in her.

Day 35 and her flowering is coming into full effect. She seems to have slowed down her stretch quite quickly after she hit 80cm+, so she is still quiet stocky. Looking forward to this plant as she stinks already! Day 40 - Same old same old at this point. I did prune off 2-3 of the smallest, lower bud sites that had branched off the main stem but were just tiny and not going anywhere. Currently looking a bit yellow, but I just changed nutrients this week so probably need a little time for me to sort out proper amounts to feed and such. I love the way this plant is growing though, she's got a really cool symmetry all over.

Day 42 and she's continuing to be the smoothest grow ever. Kinda hard to believe how she started off all runted now. Her leaves have gone a bit yellow which I feel like it might be a bit early, but she's gaining bud really healthily so I'm not too bothered just yet. This week coming should be pretty dramatic for this girl I reckon.

Week 8 Starts.. This plant is still being a complete pleasure to grow. It just looks better and better with every week that passes and never seems to give me any problems. Day 49 - She looks good, a little pale perhaps, but I have been feeding her very lightly up until now, so I might try upping the nutes maybe 1 or 2ml per Litre this week and see if she improves. I'm not too worried honestly because she's growing really nicely. Day 56 - She can't hold herself up anymore under the weight of the main cola and none of the side branches can support themselves either, so without any support sticks, I had to make some holes in the pot and use wire to tie her to each side so that she can stand up straight. I made a ring of wire to pull all the side branches in too, which actually works nicely to condense the footprint in my grow space, so thats a benefit. Aside from that, she's basically hit auto-pilot now. There does seem to be some small spotting on the leaves which look a bit like they might be calcium deficiency? She's so late in the life of the grow though I'm not too fussed. I'll watch her and see how she progresses and use the experience for my next grow.

Starting to get more orange pistils now and they're beginning to retract whilst the buds fatten up. This girl has a few problems, there seems to be some yellowing going on and some weird light brown spots on some of her leaves. I'm not sure of the cause, but she's only going to be a couple more weeks for this world anyway, so I'm turning a bit of a blind eye since she seems good otherwise. Day 63 - Pretty much started flushing her now. I'm not sure about flushing, I've read a lot of arguments for and against, but I've basically gone with a flush for this grow, simply because I was too lazy to make up her nutrients when I got out of bed the last two waters.. So yeah, we'll call it the start of her flush! Pistils are turning orange by the day now and the buds are swelling up nicely, can't be long now!

Day 64 - Start of the week, not much to say now, just checking trichomes daily. She has majority milky, a few clear and very, very few amber here and there that I've seen, but not any significant amount. I think she has 7-10 days left but we shall see! Nothing else happening, just coasting to the finish now.

Will update with the dry weight in a week or so but the wet weight was pretty good and I'm really pleased with the outcome. The main cola for this girl was an absolute beast. Update: Dry weight as she went in to cure jars was 98g, all trimmed, which I'm really pleased with. Also filtered a bunch of kief from trim as a bonus. I couldn't decide if I wanted to dry or wet trim. Since my room is a little warm I wanted to try and slow down the dry a little, so I went with a sort of 50/50 effort, trimming off a lot of the leaves wet so she was just left with the smaller sugar leaves that sit well in the bud, then trimmed them off after 3 days to give her a more tightly manicured vibe for the last part of the dry. I smoked just a little test bud and its fantastic, smells and tastes great, really nice stone, even without a cure. Cannot wait to try it properly in a month or so with a good cure behind her.
