Hi folks, here is some information about what I do and how... hope you enjoy my diary But first, a little about me... I'm a smoker for years and I decided to grow myself because I don't want to finance criminal networks. I started with random seeds found on my pouches. With paper towel and random soil. No nutrients, nothing. I never thought it would work 😌 But, cannabis is strong and I've got lucky 🙌 ==> I had 8/8 "FEMALE" plants from completely random seeds. I wasn't aware of what I was doing lol but it went ok. Even if I harvested waaaay early, it was smokable with decent THC. I don't buy weed anymore! 👌 My second attempt was with 3 skunk #1 feminized from sensi seeds, this summer. I germinated them like a savage (again), in random soil (again) 😫 and then put in the garden for 4 weeks... I think I'm very very lucky (again), cause they grew like champions. Once they begin to bloom, I've put them indoor, on 12/12 (HPS 250W RED spectrum), I defoliated, LST, like every day and used nutrients to get the best out of it. I harvested like a week ago and actually, I'm very happy with the outcome. It's more smokable and full of THC. But I know, I could do better. So this is my third attempt 😊. And you know what, I don't believe in luck! so from now on, I'm very careful. Especially, because this time I choose my strains, my lovely runtz and fat banana. And I've worked hard on my setup, on my soil, nutrients, watched hours of youtube videos on how to grow cannabis 😂 and I continue to learn every day from you guys! So, what did I do this time? here is a quick list : - First I put my seeds in a glass of water until they sink (16h) . - Then I put them in a paper towel, in a plastic bag, between 2 plates (in my case, I prefer to use a sterile, not knitted compress) until 2cm roots (12h) - When they are big enough, I put them in their first home, 4l pots (buried in the final pots, so it prevents the soil from drying fast) - I do my best to keep the humidity between 65-75% . I put a plastic bags on the pots so I keep the humidity high - The soil I use is composed of : Canna Terra Professional (60%) + wormhumus (5%) + peat (35%) - The light distance: 45cm (from bulb to sprout). I use a MH bulb 250W , for the vegetation stage - The temperature is constant between 22,5/24 C° at night and 27/28,5 the day - The extractor/intactor are always on (24/7) + 20w monkey fan always on I have a 60x60x160 box, so all my electronics and stuff are outside. I also made an external system of cooling/warming/humidifying with lots of pipes and probes. For now, I keep things simple and I wait for my girls to have their first leaves to add some root juice and auxins (from germinated and mixed green lentils) Until tonight, I'll check them every 3 hours to be sure of their wellbeing and then tonight I'll switch the lights off for the first time (for 18/6) Fingers crossed PS : please make comments if you notice something odd in my diary, I count on you!! My best regards

Yes, especially because you have the bags over the seeds. You want the lights on so humidity will be created! Good luck & happy halloweed 👻😎👍

DAY 0 : I was a bit stressed last night.. I had a doubt about the plastic bags over my ladies. I was afraid that the bags touch my seedlings. Indeed, 2 of the bags were in contact with my ladies. No worries though, now that I made a roof with a plastic cable tie, everything is fine. Watering : 2ml/L Root juice sprayed on the soil+ some auxins but really light they measure about 2 cm .And you know what? I never expected that the 4 would have germinated... So now I have 4 ladies for 60X60X160 tent... 😱 DAY 1: everything seems fine, they measure about 4cm now, except 1 banana with really curved leaves.. I don't have any idea why, hope it's normal DAY 2 : it looks ok, I sprayed the coco with root juice and auxin. I lowered the lights like 5cm and I placed the temperature probe in the plant bags instead of in the tent. DAY 3 : my 2 runtz and 1 fat banana are doing great. But one of the FB is very small... I'm happy to see that they didn't stretch. Instead, the baby leaves grew larger. I"m satisfied but maybe they could be greener... I don't know DAY 4 : nothing spectacular but it's progressing. My Fat banana is growing a bit slower compared to my runtz but I don't mind. DAY 5 : girls are growing well except the little banana. No stretch so far. I think I might fucked the light bulb though.. I'll add a question in my diary to expose the problem... EDIT : After searching the net, I decided to clean my bulb before it explodes :D First I sanded with ultra-thin sandpaper to get rid of the burnt plastic then I rubbed (with gloves on) with cotton and 90° alcohol It's all good now 😅 DAY 6 : I was surprised how the fat banana and the runtz had grown in only 1 night. Still no stretch, the baby leaves are growing fast. I installed the humidity probe inside the mini tent. First I thought I had low humidity but inside the mini tent it's almost 85%. I think its good ==> daily routine: check ladies every 3 hours, make sure they get enough humidity and warmth, spay with root juice and auxins if necessary. and of course, I take many pictures to show you my beauties

Hi folks, Actually, I might be in trouble... I germinated 4 seeds (1 of each strain) thinking that 50% would germinate... How stupid. They all germinated and doing really fine... My tent is 60X60X160 do you think that I'll be able to grow my 4 ladies in that? and How??

You’ll definitely be fine! I grow 4 plants in a 20inx20in grow box. I would just do some LST and keep their size managed!

WEEK 2 DAY 7 : my intractor is dead.. I'm waiting for the new one. In the meantime, the temp rises up to 32°C, I try to aerate every 30min.. EDIT : my intractor is more powerful than my extractor.. my tent is swelling. I let some air go from the windows below... Ill exchange places tomorrow morning DAY 8 : girls are in their final pots. Roots are beautifully grown. I've exchanged my extractor with my intractor, more powerful. Seems working fine for now. I'll let them settle and check every 2hours. I'm also waiting for my humidifier, which will be turned on by the humidity probe. It's a huge relief since the humidity is the most difficult parameter to maintain in a reasonable range. I didn't have all those problems with my previous harvest. It was in the summer and all went well. Now, I'm adjusting to the situation as well as my plants. DAY 9 : I had some humidity issues in the night, as it was too low. (54%) My humidifier was empty... I'm following very closely the Vapour-pressure deficit, which I'm aiming to keep it between (0,8 - 1,1 Pka) for the vegetative stage (1,0 to 1,5 for the flowering stage) I noticed a small issue with the leave color of one of my runtz. I'll post about it tomorrow if nothing changes. DAY 10 : humidity and temp are stable. One of my girls has a little decoloration on the leaves after the nutrient supplements spilled on her. I don't know if it's serious. DAY 11 : they are changing and growing rapidly. So far, I'm pretty happy :) DAY 12 : I noticed something odd with one of my fatty banban, asked some help. I don't know if I'll keep her. we'll see soon DAY 13 : I added some pebbles on the surface so the soil stays humid. Fatty bunbun keeps growing weirdly 😂 but I observe her for now. I'm also trying to count nodes so I can spot the best moment to top them. I never did that, so really I don't have a effin' clue on what and how to do it. 😅 Next step : Fimming/topping/LST/Defoliation ??? please feel free to help :)

Hi friend, You can top or fim when she has 4 to 5 nodes.I recommend to go for topping rather than fimming.Fimming will take some skills to be precised.Topping would be easier for you.As you are growing photoperiod, you can top and train her as long as you want. And then put her into flowering.Happy growing... ✌️

Could be genetics, could be a balance of nutrient issue. Have to consult a leaf chart. one is linked in my profile comment section. picture is hosted on this website too. for example, too high of P or K could cause thinner blades in this case i'd give it a moment before making and judgement. It's definitely not a big deal. No worries. If you see other symptoms appearing, then you can worry. save a copy of that leaf chart i mention... over time you'll get familiar with it. start learning what you put into your substrate.. how much of each nutrient? etc.. Your pH says 6. This is too low for a soil grow. Get it up near 6.8-ish. This could be the cause too - via impact on availability of nutrients. Definitely get that in order and allow some time to see what impacts it causes.

The time of toppings (nodes) don't matter. Can top on the single leaf if you wanted. Ideally all you want is to create 2 Cola's (tops). If you are waiting for the 5th node should be pinning down the top so side branches grow out more.

DAY 14 : girls rowing well. I'm waiting for the right moment to top or fim DAY 15 : I defoliated a bit my fatty bunbun, cause it's becoming very difficult to nurture her. They are growing beautifully. They aren't tall but, getting thick and leafy Tomorrow I'll lower the humidity from 70% to 65% , following the recommendations I'm still not decided whether I top/Fim today or not... EDIT : finally, "I think", I topped them 😅 DAY 16 : I pulled the lamp up by 5cm. I hope my ladies grow vertically a bit. I'm waiting for the moment when I can start performing some LST DAY 17 : I put back the lamp 5cm down, after recommendations (to limit the stress of topping). I also topped the last banana. I LST ed 1 runtz and 1 banana. They seem a bit stressed though, not chilled as usual. Their leaves are a bit curved and odd. I'll check every 5 hours and see what happens. DAY 18 : I might FIMmed one of my ladies, as I see 4 new growth instead of 2... 😂 I LSTed most of them, except the weirdo fatty bunbun. I let her do her thing, we'll see. It's getting cold, so humidity&temp is becoming an issue. EDIT : while LSTing my ladies runtz, I broke 1 of the lowest branches. I did first aid by putting some healing balm used for my trees and I cut the extra foliage to give her full power to heal. She seems to recover, for now, I'll tell more about tomorrow. fingers crossed DAY 19 : the broken branch healed. She's looking good and doesn't lag behind. I defoliated some leaves to have a better distribution of light. Humidity is still an issue. I'm now at 55% at best. My heater is working nearly non-stop...I soaked some tissue that I put in the saucer, at the bottom of the chamber, just in front of my air intake. It's not a real success but better than nothing 😔 DAY 20 : Now I know why it's called FIM. Actually, I succeeded 1 TOPping on 4. 😂 Yesterday, I had some light issues due to a blackout. My Intelli-plugs went crazy and started turning off every 3 hours... They got 3 hours less of light for 24h. Despite all the issues, those girls are toughs, especially Runtz, she is a killer. They keep growing and they seem healty Must read: https://www.santyerbasi.com/en/blog/cannabis-defoliation/

DAY 21 : shit hits the fan!! since the blackout, my smart plugs went fucking crazy. I don't even know how many lights the pants got for the last 24 hours. I'm afraid of an early flowering due to the stress.... I really don't know what to do. I bought 2 analog programmable plugs that arrives tonight. I just hope that the stress will not slow down their growth 😞 DAY 22 : the broken branch, apparently healed, is behind others, I didn't decide if I cut it now or wait ... my new analog timer arrived yesterday and working fine. DAY 23/24/25 : as usual, I keep it simple. I keep going with LST, I effed some branches tough. Ladies are growing so I pulled the lamp a bit to keep the safe distance of 40cm between the lamp and the plants DAY 26 : My plants are shaped as I hoped. I completed the LST on the top. I damaged some branches that I covered with the healing balm. They are doing great. I'm happy :) DAY 27 : I adjusted the LST this morning. The humidity was very low (40%) because I forgot to fill the humidifier last night. Regarding the LST, I definitely prefer the fat banana, more flexible and resilient than the runtz. although both strains are very resistant, for example to defoliation, to low humidity or to unstable temperature. .

DAY 28 : Today, I've finally put the net on. Hopefully, it's the last week of veg. I'll let my ladies rest for now. I've also started to introduce some biogrow. Once in flowering, Ill replace fishmix with biogrow+biobloom DAY 29 ; I noticed some burning on the tips of the baby leaves. I pulled up the light and fed as usual. DAY 30 : The same burned tips today but it didn't extend. I fed with a light nutrient mix (fish mix+activera+calmag). I had to prune a bit since the fan leaves started to swell and the humidity had risen up to 75%. DAY 31 : fed as usual. I pruned again... those girls are strong DAY 32 : fed with plain water and pruned again.. they grow quickly DAY 33 : STARTED 12/12 and fed with plain water. I pruned again. 💪 Now I'll let the MH buble for 1 week into flowering and then switch to HPS. DAY 34 : fed with plain water, pruned again some leaves that were hiding the light. Girls growing beatifully

Your lamp to plant distance is fine. Therefore I'm guessing it's a slight over feeding. Reduce your nutrients slightly, no need to flush its not that bad. Make sure you are not over watering and ph is all good as these can also cause certain nutes to lock out.

DAY 35 : fed with plain water and pruned some leaves. DAY 36 : I first fed with plain water then, added some light mix nutrients. I found some top baby leaves skinny and light yellowish... I don't know why yet DAY 37 : I'm afraid I might lose some of my ladies... Due to an(mine) error, my timer was on "always-on".. that means hell, 72h of non stop light.. I don't know what to think. I stopped pruning and the nutrients, just some little plain water to limit the stress but I might lose my fatbabana who seems not to enjoy so much light. The stems seem a bit limp, slack, soft I'm looking for people who experienced this, please don't hesitate to reply to my question on : https://growdiaries.com/grow-questions/26416-72h-non-stop-light thx PS : that means I didn't switch to 12/12 at all. I passed from 16/8 to 24/0 for 3 days... just before flowering... oh dear... DAY 38 : its a sad day for my fat banana, she doesn't seem recovering well from the over feeding followed by the 72h non stop light.. and I understand her :( she seems skinny with small yellowish leaves.. I flushed her extensively, pulled the lamp up a bit.. in the following days, Ill decide if I keep her my runtzs on the other hand, are growing well, nice dark green leaves with nice strong stems. I flushed them too anyway, in case of a late toxicity At the end, I'm a bit sad, because I don't believe in the other fat banana either, she seems weak and weird (genetically speaking), yellowish and slack... I'm affraid I'll finish this diary with 2 girls instead of 4.. ;( DAY 39 : as you can see on the images above, both of my fat bananas are dying.. I flushed them again today. Hope she gets better.. I also changed to HPS, for the flowering period...

just put it back to the regular schedule, the plants seem well, if you haven't flipped yet then they won't even care about the 72h day.
