Yo everybody! This is not my first grow, but it's actually the first one in which I put some effort into. I did 2 home grows before but actually never measured anything like temperature or humidity, no stress training etc if you can believe it... I learned a lot in the past weeks in order to have the best yield possible this time and wanted to share the growing process here so I can have live advice. I'm already on week 3 when writing this so please excuse the lack of pictures, i'll try taking one per day from now on So the strain is Critical Sour from Female Seeds : https://www.femaleseeds.nl/shop/critical-sour/ Now, I know it say it's an outdoor strain but fuck off. I plan 8-10 weeks for seedling/vegetative state and 8 weeks for flowering and i'm counting the days starting from when they we're put in the paper towel. I started the process with 4 seeds but I'll end up with only one. Decided that I will sell 3 of them since I realized my tent was kind of small for 4 plants and a ScrOG I used the basic method of germinating the seeds in a wet paper towel. On day 3 I had little sprouts and on day 4 I placed them in pots, 1 cm deep and gently watered them with tap water for the first time. The one I decided i'd be keeping was directly put in a 4 gallon pot while the others where put in cups. The soil I used was the most basic ready to go potting mix.

So everything going fine. I'm using a probe hygrometer to know when the plants need to be watered. I'm doing so around the edges of the pot so they stretch their roots to get to it. I decided to put them all in the same pot because I had them from previous grows and i'll be selling them as is, so I can get rid of the pot as well. I later plan to top my plant, LST the two stems, then re-top these two and re-LST everything. I also decided not to feed them already since i'm using ready to go potting mix and plan on feeding them for the first time on week 3 . Is this a good way of thinking? PH was still a mystery for me that week. I'm also sorry for the growlights in the pictures it'll be better next week.

Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20 - Miracle-Gro
Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20 3.66 mll
I decided to top the one I'll keep at the end of this week on day 21. I'll also be feeding it for the first time that day. I decided to go with Advanced Nutriments: Grow, Micro and Bloom to keep it simple and i'll be going with the recommended dosage. EDIT: Day 21, I had to top the plant I'll keep and wanted to start feeding her but the shipment of my nutrients has been delayed, so until they arrive I'll give her the basic Miracle Gro 20-20-20 water soluble I got left. 22ml for 6L. Next week I'll start bending. Some of them are growing faster than others and I really don't know why since they're all done the same way. EDIT: I learned about phenotype later I bought a light meter and optimized my lamp set-up to find the sweet spot for the 4 plants, that meant raising them to 60 cm from the top of the plant. Fortunately I have those locking hangers which makes the job really easy. I also bought a PH meter and discovered that my soil was at around 7.5. I say around because it's far from a precise one. I'll spend a few bucks to get a digital one and buy some PH down and up. EDIT: Digital meter came in and read 7 so I'm good, i'll try to lower it just a bit though I'm now trying to find a better home for my three offsprings.

Day 22: For various reasons I had to, again, raise the height of the lights to 85 cm. but it hasn't impacted the light level. My tent is getting hotter than I want it. I'd prefer having it at 75°F but the lights raise it to 85°F. Humidity is hard to keep balanced too, with watering, air circulation, humidifier on or off, etc, but I manage to keep it around 50%. I'm thinking about replacing my lights with a Mars TSW 2000, but I don't have enough kidneys right now so it's still just a thought. Topping on Day 21 went well and they're all recovering now with the nutes I gave them that day. Still waiting for the better ones to arrive. I'll start bending when they start rising up since they don't really need it now. They're getting bushy though, they'll need a small defoliation soon. PH is now down to 6.5 A very slight smell when I open the tent and the fan hasn't been running, or when I smell it close. Day 23: Didn't thought the leaves would start rising so quick, but they did so I had to start bending today. I did so by forming a small hook with floral wire that I put on the stem and tie it to a bamboo skewer in the ground. It's working great for flattening everything. I only did so with the top stems since they we're the highest ones. The good nutrients arrived today, so I'll be using them at the end of this week on day 28. Day 24: Did the first small defoliation today. Picked out 3-4 leaves and stems, only on the lower part Also tied other stems that we're rising up and tucked the lower stems between the upper ones so they get some light too . Day 25: the plant on the lower right is frightening me. It hasn't stretched very much so all its leaves are concentrated in the center and facing up so they don't get much light. It looks healthy though. Everything else going smoothly. Day 26: Somebody is supposed to come take my offsprings for a better home :) Nothing else to read. Day 27: Nothing to read. Tomorrow, we start with the better nutrients. Day 28: I cut the lowest layer of fan leaves and started bending the main lower stems. I changed the bending set-up on the plant I'll keep. I pierced holes in the pot to put the skewers through, that way, wires can pass under and stems can really be pulled down. For that plant, I bent all of her stems so she is really flat. I went with the recommended dosage for the nutrients which is 2ml/L. So 8ml of each compound for 4L of tap water spreaded on 2 days (Saturday, and Tuesday) which means 500ml per plant per feeding day. Later that that day the somebody came for the plants but only left with the small one. Still searching for someone else to take the others

Day 29: Nothing to read. The new nutes seem to be doing their job. Day 30: Change of plans, I decided to switch at the end of this week on day 35. Finding buyers is way harder than I thought. Switching now means I'll have enough room for the 3 plants. Maybe I should wait a bit more but fuck it, I also got other projects I want to try. I won't have the occasion to ScrOG this time. Since I'm keeping them all, I decided to apply the same bending technique as the other one and accidentally broke one of the stem of the farthest one. Didn't plan on HST so I repaired it with tape. I'll leave it like that for 5-6 days until it's fixed and try bending it again. So yeah, it's not what I wanted but next week, I switch to 12/12. They all look healthy. Day 31: Feeding day, and the one with the broken arm needs it. The whole branch hasn't changed color or anything so the cast I made seems to work :) Next week for the flowering stage I ordered ''bud candy'', ''big buds'' and ''Overdrive'' nutrients from Advanced nutrients. Day 32: Proceeded on another small defoliation on the 2 lowest stems, getting rid of all the fan leaves and little budsites that wouldn't get much light. In this case, less is better than too much so I kept the highest ones. Other small changes to the LST set-up. Day 33: Everything going well. I noticed some damage on 2 leaves of one plant. I won't worry until I see more. No signs of bugs. Day 34: I removed the tape cast on the broken one so she can recover on her own. Nature is truly amazing. Nothing else to read. Day 35: Today would normally be a feeding day but I decided to change them to Sunday and Wednesday, it's just simpler for me and for the precision of this diary. We switch for 12/12 tonight at 6. Tomorrow I start giving her the bud candy supplements until flush, as suggested. Nota: Pictures will be taken with grow lights from now on. It's easier for me and better for you.

Day 36: First day of flowering, I'll now try to take one close-up of a single bud site per day. The smell is getting intense when the fan is not running I also started the new nutrients mixture today, giving it 1ml/L more of each of the 3 compounds and adding 2ml/L of bud candy supplements from advanced nutrients. Still giving them 500ml each per feeding day (Sunday, Wednesday) and regular tap water on other days when needed. The broken stem is totally repaired now but I still don't think it's ready for bending yet. It's not too bad though, she doesn't block much light for others. I'll probably leave it like that. I also proceeded to another defoliation, this time getting rid of the top fan leaves that I left last time and also removing new leaves forming. Day 37: Budsites are turning yellow. Nothing else to read. Day 38: Nothing to read Day 39: Feeding day, same dosage. I noticed some very slightly burned tips since I increased the nutrient dose but I'm not worried and I'll keep it that way since the plant is getting bigger and starting to flower. I just learned about the solution temperature and I'll be lowering it for next week. Day 40: LST rearrangements as well as another, harsher defoliation. I also bent the broken stem very slightly as to not break it again. She took it very well. I also decided to cut the stems that we're facing down and only left the ones facing up. My fan is making a really annoying sound so during the day, I just open the tent a bit to regulate temperature and humidity. But sometimes I forget and close it completely, so humidity jumps to 80%-90%, one time for as long as 4 hours. It's in my plans to invest in a new fan, I'm just waiting for the black friday deals. Everything else looks fine. Day 41: I was afraid that my harsh defoliation might have been too much, but they're very happy. Just by looking at the pictures, I knew that the farthest one didn't have the same treatment as the others so I corrected that today. Day 42: Day after day, I'm removing leaves that I left the day before. Nothing else to read. Tomorrow we're adding the big bud supplement.

Day 43: Feeding day. Same dosage but adding 2ml/L of the big bud supplement from Advanced nutrient. They're getting big so I think I'll be giving them 1L per feeding day each as well as raising the dose to 4ml/l for the 3 base compounds next week. Solution temperature has been dropped to 70°F. Lamp to plant distance has also been lowered to 50cm. LST set-up has been modified to make sure every budsites was exposed to light. The stems are now long enough to be tied to the pot without the help of skewers. Day 44: Nothing to read Day 45: Plants are growing fine since I'm removing new leaves everyday. Nothing else to read. Day 46: Feeding day, nothing to read. Day 47: Nothing to read. Day 48: Throwback to the first week when I said that my tent was too small for a ScrOG and 4 plants. I realized how stupid that sound and understood the purpose of a ScrOG, so today I installed it and threaded my stems to the best I could. I don't have the nicest canopy but it helps flattening everything and exposing lower budsites to more light. I should've installed it sooner though. It's not as tight as it should be, I should fix this next week. I also removed the LST wiring on some of the stems so they can rise up. Everything else looks fine, I'm so excited for the harvest. Day 49: Nothing to read. We got noticeable bud formation :)

Day 50: Feeding day. As planned, I raised the dosage to 4ml per liter for the 3 base compound and gave each plant 1L. They drank it all. Call me weathercock but I removed the ScrOG netting since it was more of a handicap than anything that helps. I'll continue flattening everything with LST. Everything is looking good. Day 51: Another defoliation today, removing new leaves and smaller budsites. Nothing else to read. Day 52: Video update to show the flat canopy, budsites and how I LST the highest stems and redirected them to the center of the plant to expose the most budsites to the light. Day 53: Feeding Day, still 1L each. No burned tips or anything since last time so the dosage is alright. Day 54: I woke up to 2 of my girls praying to the light god. 50cm is the sweet spot. Day 55: Nothing to read. I don't have a microscope but I'm pretty sure to see the first trichomes :) Day 56: Nothing to read.

Day 57: Feeding day, same dosage. Nothing else to read. The recommended flowering time indicates that I should expect to harvest around the new year. What a great gift! Day 58: Nothing to read. Day 59: Small haircut and LST rearrangements today. We've officially hit 0°C, buds and leaves are getting frosty and the smell is getting more and more pungent. Day 60: Feeding day, this is the last week with the Big Bud supplement, next week we're giving them the Overdrive, again from Advanced Nutrients. Some pistils have their tip slowly turning orange. Day 61: Now starting to take angled pictures of the bud. Everything else is looking exxxtra fine. I swapped the 2 plants on the left because the farthest one was growing better and I wanted it closer to me. Nothing really important, but I also updated the composition ratios of my Miracle-Gro soil with what I could find on internet. Day 62: Nothing to read. Day 63: Nothing to read, but that smell... man that smell 😋

Day 64: Feeding day. I stopped giving them the Big Bud supplement and started feeding them with the Overdrive as recommended. Went with recommended dosage which is 2ml/L. There is 2 weeks of feeding left until the final flush. Day 65: Small problem this morning that looks like calcium deficiency on multiple leaves of the 3 plants. Not worried but I'll keep a close eye on this. I went and bought the Sensi CalMag Xtra still from advanced nutrients and plan on doing a foliar spray as soon as my lights turns off. EDIT: Lights are off, I sprayed only one plant, the worst looking one, just to see if it would do any good. If so, I'll apply the same treatment to the others, if not I'll find another solution. I added 1ml to 500ml and gave her 5 good sprays, enough to simulate the evening dew. I know I shouldn't spray during flower but I need it to act quickly. --- 4 hours later, it seems to have at least stop the spread, will confirm tomorrow. Day 66: So it stopped spreading because the lights were off. It looked worst this morning but only on the plant I sprayed -_- the 2 others seemed fine and recovering. I would normally feed tomorrow but they need it fast so I'll add 2ml/L of CalMag today and then 1ml/L after that on other normal feeding days. Also, I figured why the problem happened. I learned that you need to calibrate your measuring tools once in a while... The pH of my solution was way off down to 5.5 when I thought it was good. So yeah keep your tools clean and calibrated! A bit later after feeding, I was wondering if adding the CalMag was really necessary, since the 3 parts nutrient should already have what the plant needs and now that the pH is set well, it should take it in nicely. I'll monitor that very closely. Perhaps I fucked everything up. Day 67: Everything is kinda fine. The farthest is still the worst looking one with a bunch of brown spot on pretty much all of her top leaves. She's not dead but in bad shape. I know I shouldn't expect them to disappear instantly but it makes it hard to say if the treatment was effective. At least I don't see any signs of toxicity. The others seemed to have stabilized too. Day 68: Video update on the calcium deficiency. Deficiency? Well... turns out it's quite the opposite and I'm actually facing a lockout. I should've known since like I said, the 3 parts nutrient already has what the plant needs, and also the fact that I've never flushed them. Experience they call it... So I flushed them with water pH 6-7 until the runoff was in the same range. FYI the first runoff measurement I took was at 5.5. Next feeding will be on Day 71. I really hope that this is actually the problem and that they can now recover for real. Buds are getting fatter by the day. Day 69: Nice They still seem to get worse day by day :( I don't know what to do. Day 70: Fucking Christ!!! I'm this close of throwing everything away. The farthest one is looking terminally ill and I'm pretty sure I see new spots on the 2 others. WTF is going on!!! The soil is still very moist from the recent flush.

It's been 6 days since I noticed the problem. first thought it was a deficiency but really is a lockout. I flushed 2 days ago but she keeps getting worse. Am I being impatient? I flushed with tap water pH 6-7 until the runoff was in the same range and haven't fed her for 4 day.

Stop flashing. And feed her bloom nutrients. Perform a slurry test and figure out what your soil ph is. You might have to feed at low or high ph to accommodate and bring your soil ph back to normal

Day 71: So I asked for help to the community and I don't think anyone really gave a clear solution to my problem. So I took a bit of everyone's advice: I trimmed the dead leaves, I reduced the dosage of the overdrive to 1mL/l and now more than ever I'll be checking the pH before every feeding. Thanks anyway to everyone who tried to help. The soil is still pretty moist so I gave them 500ml of nutrient solution pH 6.2 and see how they react. I performed a slurry test and if I did it correctly my soil is at pH 6.7 so everything should be good, should be... Day 72: I'm scared of saying anything because the past proved that I was wrong 80% of the time, but I think they finally stabilized for real. I removed every dead leaves yesterday and didn't find new ones this morning. Fortunately, day 74 should be the last feeding and on day 77, I should perform the final flush. Nothing else to worry about after that :) Day 73: Nothing to read. Day 74: Last feeding! Still giving 1ml/L for the Overdrive but I added 2ml/L of CalMag to help with the final sprint. Everything else running smoothly. Day 75: Nothing to read Day 76: I'm watching the trichomes everyday and decided that I'd be flushing when I see the first cloudy ones so maybe it wasn't the last feeding after all. Day 77: All the trichomes are still clear so no flushing and an extra feeding tomorrow.

Easy strain to grow and had no problem with diseases. The smell is the best feature of this strain and it holds it's name very well. I personally prefer dense buds and these ones are quite fluffy for now. Nice amount of trichomes on buds as well as on leafs so keep those trimmings! Overall a nice strain for anyone who likes those sour aromas that sticks to the nose.

First off, that mf holds it's name very well. The smell on that strain is phenomenal. Much of fruity citrus and earthy notes and that's without the curing. I smoked a bit to get a taste. Smoke and taste quite harsh but that should go away with the curing. I harvested 634g wet, including a lot of stems, and ended up with 121g dried. they lost 80% of their mass and I might have over-dried them since I expected to get more tbh. However that's more than enough to get me through next harvest. The 3 plants turned out to be pretty different phenotype. All over pretty great but one could have used denser buds. They don't have the same maturity which means I got buds for all occasions. Kept the trimmings in the freezer for an hour and also harvested 0.67g of kief with a 220 micron bag. A lot of impurities but that was to be expected. I don't think the calcium problem has had a significant impact. Overall very happy with the product and the experience.
