The Malasana cookies and the herz OG germinated within 12 hours under a damn paper towel inside of a half zipped up plastic bag. Then sat up upstairs in a closet at about 80degrees in darkness. This morning I just put into some "Roots Organic". I use filtered water about 6PH and <100ppm to wet the soil first before inserting seed with tap root down about a half inch beneath the top layer of soil. Then gently brush some already wet soil ontop , carefully not to push down . Now they are in the propagate for probably another week atleast . Then they will be taken out of the prop to enjoy the space with the White Runt :)
Topped and Mainlined the Runt, maybe should’ve waited a few days to tie her down, caused her to split a bit but already heading towards a full recovery! SeedlingS are almost ready for transplant into newly prepped fabric pots. Watered the large Runt lightly today (6.5ph 90ppm) because I transplanted it yesterday from the previous plastic pot into a fabric one, it was taking too long too dry (5days) off 1L of water In a 3gal lol, even with holes at the bottom. And I dampened the soil of the seedlings with some (6.3ph 70ppm) since I will be most likely transplanting into fabric pots tomorrow or day after, I want them to come out nicely in one solid piece. Also I added an exhale co2 bag so that I can make use of higher temperature In the grow room, it’s very hard to regulate in this room. And lastly, I added some black plastic totes below all my pots to collect drainage. Oh, andddddd, a fan in the top corner blowing down at my canopy, or what canopy there is for now lol.
Watered each plant with 3L rO water phH 6.5 70ppm . Drainage read 6.5 pH and 700ppm. Increased the humidity from 30s to 60s after learning about VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit. Plants were handling it well before, but are extra happy and bouncy now. Ordered a nice evaporative cooler / humidifier this week so I can further dial in VPD. These lights are gonna raise the temps inside this 3x3 tent significantly, 92f+ once I crank the lights , so the cooler was a must. Now just trying to maintain a very clean tent as well as lots of air movement and ventilation, got my air purifier in there too. Gotta keep the mold away with these high rH levels! But so far so good guys! Got another 6 seedlings germinating at the moment (3x Malasaña and 3x Herz OG), and a few more tents and lights on the way so we can start a perpetual cycle !
So this week I topPer the 4 smaller ones for the first time. The 3 Malasaña regrew normally, the Herz OG gave me 3 new tops instead of 2! Wooohoo! Not sure if I monster cropped it accidentally but i don’t believe so. On the other hand, my Runtz in the middle which has been topped 2 times so far is making a slow recovery. 1 of the new growth spots has 3 new tops instead of 2 , and the other only has 1, so its missing 1 :(. That’s ok , maybe just give it a little more time, seems to not like the lower temps as much as the others, I’m thinking due to it being a Sativa dominant, it was pretty vigorous in my last grow at temps of 85-92. Also, got an automated humidifier and IR thermometer fun so I can dial in the VPD perfectly . Currently at 75-77f with 65-70 humidity . I’ve learned VPD is key to maximizing your plants growth. The Runt does seem a bit deficient on something, I’m thinking it needs some CalMag, any suggestions would be great. Gonna get to the bottom of this now!
The “Trident”, has been topped, and will have an amazing structure , I can see it now. Nice 6 tops it will have That will hold some big fat buds, look at that knuckle ! So I had some more seeds sprouting and decided to fill in some empty spots . Same strains, 2 more Malasaña and 3 HerzOG. Not gonna top them so they can quickly reach the height of the others , topped some and heavily defoliate the largest one in order to slow growth . The tallest is a Malasaña, moved her to the corner and heavily defoliate her to slow growth while little ladies catch up. She is definitely the best phenotype , I will be taking a few tops later before flower. The White Runtz bag seed from my first White runtz bag seed grow is botched lol. Botched this thing, basically just experimenting now, I don’t mind . Lots of fun , very interesting. I think just a bad pheno from the start anyways. On top of my failed monster cropping whilst drunk lol. Also, I sacrificed the air purifier/ dehumidifier for rest of veg as I think it’s a waste of space for now. I want my RH to be 60-70% right now for perfect VPD, it is working wonders. Just topped last night already crazy growth from the new tops. Also have 4 different air streams in my tent as well as fresh air intake and carbon filter, so Botrytis don’t stand a chance ! Gonna wit to get another 12 inches on the tallest one and get the rest to follow suite, then switching to flower, scrog will go up I’m the next week or 2 before flower, then I’ll start bending and tying them down about a week after switch to flower. Also, I’m running 320/400 watts right now, gonna max her out during week 3-7 of flower then slowly taper down again . Anyways, Keep on keepin on friends! Thanks for keeping up with my journal! Best of luck to us all. And also any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Runtz got thrown out, found some balls and I quickly chucked it out the window lol 😂. Was growing oddly anyways, and not much room in here so that’s fine . Next change is that I took out the humidifier and put in a dehumidifier for the nights. The plants should be able to maintain a good level of humidity themselves now that they are larger . Need to slowly wean them down from 65rh to about 45-50rh before flower which I plan to flip to in about 7-10 days. I have also incorporated a foliar feeding with just water and kelp extract, once a day for past 3 days so far, they seem to like it, gonna do only once a week now though. I also have incorporated kelp extract into my feeding regimen , as well as unsulphured organic blackstrap molasses, to get the microbial life nice and healthy and thriving again in my soil. Also to help break down any salt deposits there might have been. I have been supercropping my tops on the tallest Malasańa in the back left corner , so that the other can catch up. I’m just waiting for the 4 larger (3gals) to penetrate the scrog a few inches before I send it into flower. Then after a few days I’ll bend them down and and tie them up nice and spread out on the scrog for a nice even canopy. The smaller 5 will be staked , though I do think there is a chance they will reach the scrog net , at least after the flower stretch . I keep watering at a steady 6.5ph, same with foliar feeding. Measured my RUNOFF PH 6.0/ PPM 1100. Watering with 6.5ph/800ppm. I did raise the lights to their maximum height, about 6 inches higher than before . Lights still at 85%. As they get taller the par values on the canopy will increase, by the time they reach week 3-6 flower they will be at 100% , and just the right height from the canopy.
Was out of town last ween so was not able to record it. Anyways, this grow is gonna be kind of packed but what can you do. Had to fit them or throw em out lol. Defoliated a bunch last week, filled out the canopy nicely, then defoliated again today before first flower feed. Gonna be foliar feeding some kelp and molasses for probably another week or 2, before bud sites starting forming. Turned the lighting to 90% from 85%. So far so good ! The center trident is growing so slow, I can’t put my finger on why though. I’m thinking just the shape is not the best for growing. All the leaves are very cramped together, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Been having my fresh air open during the night causing it to dip below 60s. Closing that off for the night now keeping it at 65-70 during night now, that should improve growth. Starting to drink lots of water the big ones are. Little bit of a stank building up . I introduced some Beastie Blooms by fox farm into the feeding schedule yesterday . Will continue with that until week 6.
Got some nute burn about 5 days ago. Did a flush of about 5x gallon size 5 days ago , and they have been drying up til this morning. The larger ladies rebounded quite nicely. Still growing strong. The small HerzOG’s were stunted from the beginning, or maybe just genetics idk. I noticed most of the Herz did not like the same environment as the Malasaña possibly. The 3 smallest plants left are all HerzOG, no other ones but those. I chucked another HerzOG because it was not performing well , and I figured more room would be more worth it . Now I have 5 large Malasañas and 3 measly HerzOGs left, which should yield me atleast an oz each I still believe , will be used for edibles and extracts. Did my last defoliation as well today after my first feeding in 5 days. Half nutes with just a bit of molasses and kelp. ALSO, I purchased a 26watt UVB bulb by Exo Tero. This is a bulb for amphibian tanks actually , supposedly it leaks some UVC as well, this was actually supposed to be recalled but they got mixed up and they still sending these haha. Good for the anti bacterial /fungal properties UVC has. I know there’s many better UV supplement lights but this was $10 and I found someone who swears by this light so I figure why not give it a shit lol. Maybe At least some UV will trigger a hormone response.
So week 4 of flower has come to an end. I have finally started feeding full nutes with 50% N this morning. Plants seem to be handling it well. The double cola Malasaña in the back has an amazing bud structure, and such a heavy resin production on her, I really wish I had cloned her. I include 3 pictures of that one. Also, I tied down a bunch of taller colas so I could turn up my light to 100% with an even canopy. Buds have not been swelling much this week ! But with the reintroduction of feeding at a regular level I hope to see lots of progress in the coming weeks . Also I noticed substantially heavier trichome production on the plants nearest the UV light, might just be coincidence though. Well have to see the outcome of future grows during a monocrop .
Week 5 has come to an end. Buds are really starting to fill out now, very dense and super sticky. Keeping temps below 80 now to preserve terps and will slowly lower to 70 day time and 60 night time in an attempt to bring out the purple in the Malasaña. As with the Herz OG, it is going to take an extra week or 2 to mature over the Malasaña it seems. Surprisingly though even the tiny HerzOG plants , front, center, and back right have been severely damaged from N toxicity , though still are producing massive dense buds. Largest out of all the plants. Pleasantly surprised. Will be feeding 1 more time full nuts with bloom booster tomorrow . Then last 2 weeks will be Molasses and RO water only . Happy Growing!
Week 7 has come to an end. This pictures are beginning week 8. 2 plants got harvested early due to toxicity burning off all the leaves :( still had 50% cloudy , will use as edibles. 2 others got fairly burnt but still have some thick smelly flowers, with a tight wet trim on those they should look nice still. The rest are barely burnt and producing some nice smelly nugs. One of the Malasaña on the right is much darker green, the flowers are turning purple and is fox tailing, also much more trichomes. This is the real winner , I wish I would’ve cloned this one. Finally the 3 Herz Og plants are starting to turn their pistils more and spitting out TONS of trichomes. Malasaña coming down in 5 days, HerzOG another 2 weeks .
Malasaña Cookies came down at 54 days . Seen 1 or 2 amber and put them into darkness for 36 hours, as well as lowered the temp to 48-55 degrees . Trichomes were frostier when I opened up, as well as dark purple Hughes more pronounced in 1 of the phenos. Hanging and drying in 55f/60rh, wet trimmed, hoping for a 7-10 day dry still . More pics after dry .
The HerzOG has about a week left so it was moved into my veg tent with my Zkittalicious. I flipped thst tent to flower so that the HerzOG can finish off in there.
@Exotic_Seed, Thanks ! So far so good! Any advice on training techniques for either the Herz OG or the Malasana that you know to work particularly well ?
Looks like a Potassium (K) deficiency on the center Runt. I determined this because of the lightening of the greenish color of the leaves towards the center and burned crisp edges . Ordered some Organic Kelp to spread on as a topper and leach in during watering.
Forgot to mention that the center Runt was topped a 2nd time, and the 4 smaller were topped for a first time, above the 3rd node and then stripped all growth beneath , except 2 fan leaves on the 2nd node to aid with the new growth . New top are coming in nicely on the smaller ones, but harder coming along on the runt, hoping for the best.
Looks real similar in build and bud size brother. Maybe she's just a little thinner by nature. She is a beatiful girl for sure and I'm presuming you're smelling them berries by now👌. Looking great man! Happy trails this week
@PlainFieldPuff, Dude, thank you so much for this🙏. Just got a personalized review and I'm seeing/smelling what you are. Don't care if she's thin now, lol. If she's like butter I'll take a lower yeild with a higher quality any day. I actually JUST dropped my temps yesterday... and will be running her another 1.5 weeks or so, pretty much exact same as yourself. I have confidence this will help now! Thanks again man. Really informative and it gives me a harvest window... Frigging Cheers😀✊
@JinksyGrows, I cut down a stalk 2 days ago to test how it’s gonna dry. 2 days in and WOW. The lowered temps immediately made them spew out resin. The buds are light green with bright orange hairs . Super sticky on the outside , melts in your fingers . And the smell of berries is overpowering . I couldn’t tell in the tent as much because of the HerzOG in there aswell . I’m blown away by this strain. I know what my first mother is going to be now . Can’t wait for them to ripen up this next 2 weeks still !
@PlainFieldPuff, I like how you think man... I'm thinking about keeping a jar of top buds but just squishing or washing the rest for dabs or hash. Probably hash👌. That resin Dev would make for some fine concentrate, regardless of where you're headin'. We'll see how this final 1-2 weeks go, but I'm with ya and leaning towards pressing
