After weeks of being uncertain about my lights, I decided to bite the bullet now she's flipping to flower soon. Upgraded to 3 extra lights so another 70 watts the new lights are CFL 2700 K, should be the perfect time to do this Tonight when lights are out I'll be spraying her with Humic and Fulvic acid as she's not had this on the leaves for a while, I fed a TINY amount the other day and the tips started burning again, I fed, then flushed a little and had the correct PH at input and runoff and she still got burned, makes me a bit worried for when I start giving her bloom nutes Day 20 The new growth is starting to be a little bit pale, I think it's very early signs of a deficiency but feeding through the roots just isn't working she keeps getting nute burn, it's been commented a few times she might be low on nitrogen, especially after a day under an extra 70W of drawn light, I've decided to Foliar feed a little Diluted it down 1 drop of 1:1:1 and 1 drop of Bio Bloom in 20 ml of water (a whole 0.1ml) then that 20 ml of water was added to a 100ml of water and 5 drops of Humic and Fulvic acid solution, this was then sprayed all over the leaves which she drank through them in about 15 minutes after lights out, last time she got a foliar feed of Humic and fulvic acid the night time growth was crazy, but the next day was insane with the extra light and the Humic and Fulvic, I reckon day 21 is going to be such an amazing day for this little girl I can't LST her properly, the stem is so rigid, I basically pulled her over in the soil, there's another node coming through now so I might be able to pull this down and one of the bud sights is starting to grow up and out, might get a couple of Colas off her if they start growing and I can keep the main on under control Day 21: Humic and Fulvic acid worked it's magic once again, loads of new growth and the lights really seem to be ramping up her growth aswell, I've managed to LST her a bit better today to pull the top of the plant down to the same level as the rest of the growth, no Apical dominance anymore and the side growth is really exploding, there's a bud site that I can't get good pictures of that's stretched out of the shadow to reach light in the space of 24 hours it's gained about an inch in length! The foliar feed of Nutes seems to have not caused much of a nute burn, but it's levelled out her colour a little bit, I think tomorrow I'll need to water again as we're getting dry but still damp today, in the morning I'll give plane old Distilled water just to keep that nute burn away and probably start feeding her through the leaves it seems to be having a much better effect, I reckon another week until she starts to flower there's no sign of pistils yet she seems quite content to be focusing on growing new budsites nodes and grow a lot more apexs which I'm happy to let her do should get a decent number of Colas, if she keeps up this growth for another week before flower we're onto a winner here, can't wait! Day 22: Growth is continuing very well, this morning I woke up late and by the time I was awake the soil was bone dry, watered around the outside of the pot to really get those roots stretching out, PH at runoff was just below 7, gave about a Litre today her needs are certainly increasing, I also added generous helping of H2O2 to really oxygenate the roots following the drought, adding hydrogen peroxide always triggers a huge growth spurt in a couple of days, the roots must love it go nuts and grow then the above ground growth has the capabilities of growing a lot more! Dropped the lights even closer today because I'm conscious how bushy she's getting , CFLs aren't the greatest at penetration and my LEDs aren't the best lights in the world, but since introducing the new lights the growth has gone insane, thinking the short stature is due to genetics of the particular seed, there's a LOT of nodes now by week 3 we're looking at 6/7, and if I'm right we're looking at at least 3 possibly 5 unique colas, especially now I'm going heavy on the LST it's triggering her to grow all over, but the top needs tying down every day Really excited for this girl to flower! Today I mixed Citric acid and Bicarb of soda and added a shot glass of tap water in a small dish and sat that next to the plant, this creates CO2 (eventually) ramping up the CO2, light and adding water + H2O2 should give her everything she needs for another growth spurt in the next few days ;) Day 23: Seeing a lot of people suggesting to stop using H2O2, important to point out I'm mixing the Hydrogen Peroxide with water about 1 teaspoon for every 500ml then leaving it to sit and break down, h2o + oxygen are exactly what the plants roots needs Her stem has really thickened up over the past few days, I put this down to the new lights + she's probably getting ready to flower, LST has been quite successful in creating a very bushy plant , it's become pretty impossible to check how many unique nodes she's got on the main stem all I know is she's still growing really well, it's proving quite hard to feed her through the soil without almost guaranteed nute burn, Autos are obliviously very sensitive to burning , this + the Humic solution is making it hard to get the balance right through the soil, I've decided to start foliar feeding for the time being instead Few people said last night that she was looking over watered, I think they've looked at the picture and not the grow diary details, I'm giving 500ml every 2 days at the moment, in the past day the soil has dried out completely, I've been reassured that the droop 90 minutes before lights out is just the plant resting before the night growth begins no sign of pre flowers yet, we've probably still got another 5 days to a week of veg then I think flower will begin, she's starting to give a lovely smell already , the growth in 3 days has been crazy, she's become a decent sized bush Thinking I'm going to need to install a SCROG net, to help spread out the bud sites but also to support her, when the buds start coming through, looking like 4 decent colas might form when flower starts, which would be excellent Day 24: This girl is thiiirrssttyyy, I think she's getting ready to flip to flower, first few white hairs are coming through on the stalks, I had hoped we had another week of growth before this happened but I'm still happy with the size, over the past few days her main stem has grown really thick and the side growth is about as thick as the main stem was last week, yesterday I gave a second water because the soil is drying out very quickly, it's currently dry up to the first knuckle of my finger, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to water and probably feed as well It's pretty much impossible to count how many nodes she's got on the main stem because the growth is so thick! Hoping that she will stretch out quite a bit during the next few weeks to open up some of the bud sites otherwise I might have to consider defoliation, there's a lot of bud sites that are completely shaded by the top canopy I'm quite lucky that distilled water is cheap where I am, but tap water is really hard, Set aside 2 litres today ahead of tomorrows water, last time I used tap water there was a few issues, so I'm going to mix tap and distilled water to reduce the salt content quite a way, Day 24 update, we've 100% hit flower, she's starting to grow pistils on pretty much every single node, there's 2 hours until lights out and I could probably water her, but I've read that letting a pot get dry is what's needed for the roots to focus on growing out into the pot to find moisture, the soil is damp about 1.5 inches below the surface, I've noticed some surface fuzz growing on the soil, I know this isn't detrimental to the plant if anything it's a sign of healthy soil (H2O2 will do that to soil if it's used properly) but letting the soil dry out over night isn't going to cause too much harm to the plant I'm sure there's still moisture to be had, I'm tempted to give the leaves a misting tonight with humus solution, but she'll get a good water with Humic, fulvic and a single drop of bio-bloom tomorrow, 1 drop of nute in 750 ml of water, tomorrow I'm watering with 50% distilled water and 50% tap water, I need to be up early to do this at lights on instead of later in the day to maximise the benefits over the course of today what will be the nodes have started opening themselves up a little, what was once a very bushy plant is now already starting to stretch out, excited to see what happens next week! πŸ˜† Day 25: lot an awful lot to report today, growth is still on going, the side stems are starting to thicken up and stretch out, this morning the soil was bone dry and it was able to take 1 litre of water no problems with very little runoff, runoff did eventually come though which was at ph of 6 that was the driest she's ever been and seemed to be thriving this morning, today's picture is post watering and she was visibly sucking up water into her leaves for a hard day of photosynthesis! Watering this girl this morning has set off some serious growth! Giving her so much water was nerve wracking but she's suddenly exploded up top! Doesn't seem to be showing any signs of nute burn which is excellent and the Humic and Fulvic acids seem to have really done their thing! Exciting times ahead! 3 days until week 4! Looks like she's focusing on leaf growth for the time being, excited to see how much she explodes going into flower Day 26: I couldn't help myself, I had to open the grow room to have a look this morning even though I told myself I wouldn't but boy did yesterdays water send her crazy! She's really stepped up the leaf growth over the past week, and it's looking like 5 main colas, asking todays grow question to see if I can expose more bud sites early and will this make a difference, todays pictures look a little yellow, they're not in person but I'm thinking we're looking at a spot of nitrogen deficiency, she was fed minimal bloom nutes yesterday (1 drop in 1 litre lol) and doesn't seem to be showing any signs of burn which I'm happy to report, but I'm thinking I'll foliar feed her some 1:1:1 just to balance out those slightly yellow leaves Day 27: Today I watered again, after spraying with Humic and Fulvic acid solution last night, the soil was dry an inch down again (so water intake is increasing) just gave plain water 50% distilled 50% tap, I think there's some kind of deficiency starting but I can only see it under the grow lights now when she comes out of the cupboard so it's hard to say what it is, spraying with Humus solution triggered another growth spurt this normally takes 24-48 hours to take effect so maybe tomorrow she'll shoot up again, noticed some slight curling on the leaves which can't be heat but I think light stress, lifted the lights to counteract this

I think that growth is normal for such a early stage. In future i strongly recommend starting in a small pot and then proceeding to a larger one once it has rooted out. Be careful with the watering as it’s such a small plant and can be over watered easily. You can always add more but can’t take away. Hope this helpsπŸ‘

I've been slowly lowering them as the plant grows, now I'm starting to get nodes but they're pretty close together (see grow question image) Wondering if I should lift the lights to encourage stretching or leave them alone General health check would be awesome too πŸ˜„

That little girl is looking great! I'd say, your lighting should be fine at that height. She doesnt seem stressed at all. Some plants start out with tight internodes like that, even different phenotypes, under the same lighting, can produce vastly different spacing. I have 2 criticals from dinamed growing that show this off very well. Cheers and happy growing

I've not fed in 5 days and this discolouration only started 2 days ago, I'm really thinking it's light stress, I've already turned off one of the lights instead of lifting the lights, more looking for reassurance I've DX'd the problem correctly :D

Hi! In my experience light stress looks a little different. The leaves might start to droop and the green healthy color starts to fade to lighter green in the top parts where the light intensity is the strongest but I don't think it will make the tiof of the leaves yellow only. So i'd say it is something else but you should not be worried 'cos she's still young and fragile but I'm sure she will grow out of it if you just give her time and keep growing her like you used to!

So I know auto-flowers grow short, but she's still about 10cm tall and smashing lateral growth Do any auto-flower growers know when the height starts to come? I'd be worried she was stunted if it wasn't for the new node forming quickly once again looking for reassurance

Let's say she could be taller..... What about your PH? Sometimes the nature of the seed is like this but most of the time it is on us. In this case I see the light colour of the leaves that means nitrogen deficiency. Nitrogen needed to grow properly and in this case I think the problem is the nitrogen. She will flower soon. I highly recommend higher dosage of bat guano or whatever that can provide good amount of nitrogen. PH imbalance also causes this that's why I asked because the plant roots can not absorb nutriteint when the PH is improper. Hope helps. :)

Hi there, Maximizing yield is the goal of all growers. As you are growing Auto, they’ve very limited amount of time to maximize.LST for an auto is all I would do to make her bigger. The less stress the better for an auto.If you don’t have any plan to use better equipments, you can maximize your yield by nutrient.Proper feeding and use of booster can make you big difference. For now, stay on your LST track and spread the branches as many as you can before it shows any pre flower. When she goes into flowering circle, use flowering booster like P/K booster, big bud, bud candy, etc... to boost. At the end of flowering period, use nute like overdrive will make your plant, the biggest one.Happy growing... ✌️

After looking at your diary, I would stop with the hydrogen peroxide(!) and I would suggest never giving your plants distilled water. Distilled water has nothing in it, such as dissolved salts, calcium etc. and when applying it to your plants can actually "suck" these dissolved salts out of your plants cells via osmosis. If you are concerned with chlorine etc. in your tap water, just fill a bucket or three with tap water and let them stand for a couple of days before using the water. Leaving the buckets of water to stand will cause most of the chlorine and any other chemicals to evaporate, leaving you with well balanced and clean/chemical free water. Your babies will pick up in a few days and continue growing normally. If you are really keen, you could give them some sort of seaweed extract/tonic, as this will really pick them up quickly and is also good to use periodically as a soil stimulant. If you live where you get pretty warm in summer or quite cold in winter, using the seaweed tonic a day or two before the extreme weather hits, will help your plants battle through those temperature nightmares. Hope this helps... Organoman.

I've got 2 bud sites that are covered by 1 leaf, I'm itching to take that one leaf away to expose those budsites as I can't bend it out of the way because the stem is still too short, will this shock the plan at a critical stage? Am I better waiting a few days?

Your not in the flowering stage yet and that plant is gonna change it’s structure drastically between now and when those bud sites are gonna need light, that leaf is not gonna be there come bud time as the plant will stretch out. best to let her grow and do the pruning of leaves like this just before flowering flip or just after, but be very selective on what to remove, because these leaves do feed the bud sites there connected too later on in flowering. Cheers!πŸ’¨

More a question out of Idol curiosity, I've managed to train an even canopy with what will hopefully be 7 main colas, and there's a few sites that aren't in the top canopy that look like they could do well Will the stems continue to thicken with a fan on them when flower starts?

Is a night time temp of 15degrees the cause? I can't keep it up without making it too hot, or could this just be a phosphorus def.? I fed her well yesterday and yet to see any difference, as far as I can see this isn't typical for the strain

Many strain that don't have purple trains in them, actual have a little purple hue when expise to cool temps. Some nutrient becimes les available at lower temperature. A plant with temps below 20 degrees can express color change at the tips of theire growth going from cool to hot during night and light exposure.. has long has night don't get below yiur 15 i would nit worry esoecialy if day time is warmer. Since it can start affect growth eventually. Try to get something to raise nightbtemos in there 20 if you can. I tiny space heater on a control timer wirks great. You make it turn in when temps are below a certain temp and turn if when it reach a proper level.. you can get the heater for around 20$ on amazon. The temp controler will be a few more bux but well worth the $ in my opinion and can even be use with a cooler djring hit summer.

She is small, but only 3rd week of flower and an auto so no worries! I would recommend Defoliate some of the undergrowth, definitely the yellow leaves, and remove some other choice leaves that are blocking lower bud sites to allow light to access deeper and allow for buds to fill in more. To help with the same idea of letting more light into deeper parts of the plant, I would also use some ties to space the branches out as much and even as possible. Combination of those two should help make the most of this girl. Leaves should not be turning yellow as she is still early flowering. However your plant is pretty bushy so the bigger lower leaf might go, nothing to worry about as long as the other leaves are healthy. 8 weeks of flower is average. Hairs will go from white to orange depends on the strain, but it happens near the end of flowering, as that is the last stage for the pistils, but usually after 4 or 5 weeks of flower they will have a few, sometimes more and sometimes none at all, sometimes it takes 7 or 8 weeks. Depends on strain and growing conditions. For your girls here, I would guess pistils will start to orange over in another 3 weeks or so.

Totally normal! nothing to worry about its just residue from the stem's development. Plant looks great!! I'd suggest just increasing the amount of water you're giving her to reduce the salt buildup you have in the medium (make sure there's at least 20-30% runoff) Besides a little Phosphorous and Potassium buildups, which are probably due to the banana tea, your plant looks very healthy!! try not to defoliate any more at this stage of flowering since you need those leaves to produce energy which produces buds!! Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

@GreenFingeredLT, Yes I mean pistils, I noticed they are longer and get brown earlier than mine. The plant will continue to produce constantly white hairs, you have to trim when 75% of pistils are brown. In last 2 weeks I noticed that buds gets thicker, good luck!

@giggi, You mean the pistils? (the white hairs?) if so I was a bit confused they were going brown from very early in flower but she keeps producing white hairs daily so I think she's still in active flower maybe 2 more weeks? I'm just balancing a K deficiency at the moment so hopefully there's enough time for a good growth spurt, seemed like yours put on a fair amount of weight towards the end?
