RQS Easy Bud - First Grow

Day 34: As is tradition started the new week a day early ;) I woke up at 6am to feed her this morning (yes I went back to bed after lol) last night the soil was as dry as a bone, I wanted to give her another drought just to push her roots to grow that last bit before a big flower feed, she was starting to show some early defs. over the past few days, foliar feeding did seem to hold this back but giving her a good feed this morning and after 3 hours her colour has gone back to being incredibly health, gave her about half a litre of water today and got zero runoff (seeming to be quite hard to get runoff at the moment, I'm conscious that giving her too much water just to get runoff might be a bad move) Flowering seems to be going well, I'm hoping now she's had a proper concentration of bloom feed it might amp up flowering a little, but we shall soon see! Day 35: No real need for pictures today she's not done too much except stretch a bit, I'm noticing a little bit of nute burn forming after the feed but it's very minor, I feel that if you've fed enough to slightly burn the tips you've given a plant just more than enough was needed, her colour is very health today except those slight tip burns, Expecting a decent growth spurt today so by tonight pictures will be uploaded Day 36: She's really starting to flower now, I'm noticing Calyx all over the plant, lots of bud sites deep in the plant that aren't getting much light but are on the stems of what will be the Colas, the main cola is of course starting to stretch out higher than the others but I guess that's natural, last night I spotted some very small fungus gnats flying around the cabinet, I gave a good dose of Neem oil to the leaves, tried to avoid the buds but then after the leaves have dried I soaked the whole plant with a good dose of Humic and fulvic solution again Struggling to keep temps up at the moment, we're having a cold snap and it's had to keep it above 20 degrees, it's getting very low at night which I'm hoping won't last but I've got a small heater on standby if needed The spraying seems to have sent some of the little white hairs brown, but I can't see any boy parts anywhere so I'm confident she's not hermied and self pollinated 🙏 I also sprayed the soil with a mixture of water and H2O2 again today to upset any fungus gnat eggs that might be in the soil, she was due a water tomorrow but I'm going away for the night tonight so gave her a light water earlier than I would have liked, just incase something comes up and I'm late back Currently watering with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and our quite hard tap water, there's tons of salts in our tap water including calcium and magnesium (so no cal mag suggestions ;)) The nute burn I mentioned yesterday hasn't progressed any further than the tips, I didn't use any nutes at all today just water and the natural salts in the water, definitely going to be a January Harvest, makes me feel better though because all those colas will have some serious time to grow! Exciting times! Day 37 - Seeing zero signs of pests after the treatments, but i'm spotting lots of the pistils on the Calyx deep within the plant have turned brown, they're not swollen at all so I presume this is damage from the Neem oil? There's lots of Calyx forming everywhere now and they're starting to develop that sugary appearance we all look and dream for, soil is drying out quite quickly but it's getting hard to actually check without finding roots! The Root ball on this girl must be huge by now, they say as above the same below so if that's true, well I'm excited to rip her out of the ground to take a look! The smell is getting stronger (I'm smell blind so can't smell it but the GF says so anyway) I've got a jar full of Ona Gel by the front door to stop the smells escaping as she grows I'm thinking today she can dry out a bit more, conscious of over watering at this very crucial time, every single day the main cola is getting taller, some of the other colas aren't getting so big but it's early days of course. As much as I had hoped for a Christmas harvest this is looking very unlikely Day 37 update: I relented and gave her a good water, still really struggling to get any run off. Today was another water with just distilled water, in another 2/3 days I'll feed again and up the nutes a little bit more see how hard I can push her Day 38: PESTS! ARGH! This morning I spotted some little bratty fungus Gnats jumping around in the soil! How did the neem oil soak and spray not kill the little blighters?! Gave the top soil a good dose of Hydrogen Peroxide watered down into a 1:3 H2O2:Water ratio (3% H2O2 at bottle) and this definitely killed off the adults I just hope it killed off the larvae as well! I'll be giving that another damned good soaking of Peroxide in 3-4 days to kill any remaining critters! Other than this minor problem (From what I understand Fungus Gnats won't be more than a nuisance at this point in the grow, they're not going to get deep enough to do any real damage to the main roots) things seem to be going really well. Flower growth is going well. There was one top that I was worried about because it only had one fan leaf but it seems to be catching up quite nicely, nothing is as tall as the main cola but that's to be expected! Today should have been a drought day, I don't think a small spraying of the top soil will set that back too much. I think I'll give her another 24 hours without watering now, so the next real update should be on day 40! But I can't help myself most days, I love checking on the little girl! She's getting so much bigger than I had hoped and dreamed of for a first grow! I'm so lucking forward to getting this girl chopped, but patience is essential I know. Christmas is a little over 3 weeks away, by Christmas Day I expect this girl will be showing exactly what she's capable of producing ;) Day 39 - My night time temps are getting far too low 😩 dropping to 15 degrees at night and naturally because of this the leaves are starting to take a purple tinge, looks like it's time to rock the heater at night time today is a drought day she's drying quite nicely, I've been keeping my water warm to offset the cold temps Day 40 - Night temps are back up nearer a happier temperature (18 ish according to the hydrometer) but the plant is still growing purple leaves, I'm thinking this could have been a combination of cold temps and a phosphorus def. Today she got a GOOD feed of 1.5ml Bio Bloom in about 500ml of water, followed behind with another 300ml of water with 1ml of humic and fulvic acid solution to really help her beat the stress, monitoring closely to make sure nothing goes to wrong. I also noticed a few more little pests jumping around in the soil after the watering, even though the top soil was dry, they got blasted again with H2O2 + distilled water to try and keep them at bay no signs of other pests just yet, hoping the colder weather is keeping them back in general Day 41 - Night temps are really struggling to keep happy, I'm installing a heater tonight on a timer to fight this, but I'm noticing today the buds are starting to thicken up and become buds instead of little balls of white hairs! She also needed more water today! Bone dry almost overnight, think I need to up my watering a little bit, today was just a plane water day but I mixed Distilled water with tap water and balanced the PH, did this to get some mg and cal into the soil, PH of the soil is about 6, really starting to smell now :D Purple leaves addressed in the grow question I don't think this is from over feeding I really think the cold temps are doing it 😖 week 6 starts tomorrow! Count down really is on!
