New to coco, using mother earth coco 70/30 mix. Using natural bottled water for germ and initial watering (a small mistake). Then mixed a gallon of low dose nutrients, ¼tsp each nutrient into a gallon(no cal mag, a mistake), originally ph to 6.5-6.8 (that was a big mistake). Lights were hanging about 20" running at lowest dim (another mistake)

Oct 19th. I claim to be wk1 veg I've been using spray bottles for the weaker solution(and no call mag in it). When I bumped to higher dose I only watered a small area since it's a big pot(5gal) for a small plant(4"). Since I was not seeing any progression, I watered with a whole gallon to get some runoff and get rid of any potential salt build up from all the previous light feedings. I got very little runoff with very high EC. Next day or two once the coco was somewhat dry I did a water flush ph to 5.8. I have been feeding every other day with about ¾ to 1gal of mild veg solution.

Oct 27th I mixed a whole gallon of ph 5.9 water and flushed the plant to promote runoff and test. First portion of runoff was reading EC of 2.0 and 6.4 PH, the last of runoff testing EC of 1.5 and 6.0 PH. A lil concerning so I'm planning on a water flush every 2 feedings to remove build up Oct 28th fed ⅜ gal of mild veg solution to balance the previous day's flush. Oct 29th watered with remaining ⅝ gallon of mild veg solution the runoff was testing a lil better with EC 1.6 and 5.8 PH Oct 31st fed with ½ gallon of mild veg solution 5.8 PH looking very happy

A lot of growth, did some small defoliation (removed 4 or 5 large fan leafs) to allow light penetration. She seems very happy and will continue with more LST to stretch the branches outward. She is showing a couple of pistils on the top 2 nodes. Not sure to feed for flower yet. I think I should wait 2 more weeks until transitioning to flower feeding. Still learning, open to advice.

Big bud it's responding really well to the defoliation and the lst. Thinking of more LST. Big bud grew more and is shading another side, so a lil more defoliation. Fed with veg solution (1tsp of cal mag, flora trio Micro, Grow, and Bloom/gal) Runoff testing around PH 5.5 a lil concerning I think will water with slightly higher PH (maybe 5.9-6.0) Big bud more defoliating. I took more off (12 fan leafs) because of aggressive growth and pistils are showing up more Day 39 my runoff was testing at PH 5.5 EC 2.41 I think this is concerning, might be running into nute burn soon. Day 41 trying to correct the PH & EC watered ¼ gal plain water PH 5.9. No runoff occurred. Read next week for my continued concern

Day 42 Big Bud is liking the LST and started a transition to bloom feeding @ PH 6.0. I did not TDS test the solution before hand but after watering about ½ gal of solution the runoff testing at PH 5.5 & EC 3.09 very concerned for nute burn now. Thinking of watering again later with ¼ gal plain PH 6.2 water. We'll see... I'm not too concerned with a small patch of mold on coco (I believe it's from Mykos top dress) I have house plants with similar condition and don't seem to be affecting them negatively. But please correct me if I'm wrong!

My runoff EC keeps climbing, I've watered just plain water in between feedings to try combating it but it climbs back up. Am I doing that right? Should I be diluting my solution and keeping the ratios the same? Please, any advise is welcomed

Coco needs nutes every watering so don’t give plain water and your nutrient levels are way too high for autos, look at my diary for the nutes I’m using (also using GHE trio) and you can see how much less I’m using. The high levels could be causing lockout therefore increasing coco EC, that’s what was happening to me early on. Also your pH should be 5.8 for soilless in veg and 6.2 for bloom. Happy growing bro

In between feed charts, because my ppm/EC has been climbing really high. Reduced strength and increased watering frequency. Now showing signs of overwatering, but decreased ppm/EC to below target. Now PH raised to around 6.3 - 6.5. Now adjusting recipes for correct ppm/EC and compensate for current PH levels, trying to feed around PH 5.3 - 5.5

Finally got her PH down, still on the high side but manageable. I'm switching recipes from grow diaries to the GH chart online. I will have to stay on the low side of ppm since I'm using distilled water. I will also rinse every couple of days, might start spraying the outside of the fabric pot to remove salt build up within the fabric.

Dec 7th Day 63 now I'm reassured and started using GH feed chart. Dec 8th Day 64 still battling higher than wanted PH of 6.5 instead of 5.8 to 6.0. PPM is now dropping to wanted levels of 700. Dec 9th Day 65 started to flush again to resolve PH problems Dec 10th Day 66 still battling high PH of 6.5 and still feeding around 5.2 Dec 11th Day 67 high ph and ppm is dropping low 400 now Dec 12th Day 68 thinking my distilled water is not maintaining a stable ph. I will have to fortify my distilled water with natural water to maintain a stable ph in the root-zone, I guess. Dec 13th Day 69 continuing with experiment ph is now 6.3, and ppm is 423

Jan 11th forgot to water twice, only got 750ml that night. Starting to lower micro to force a lil extra bud growth. Jan 15th I had to raise this Big Bud plant, because My only Purple Hulk plant over grew this older plant. I was expecting Big Bud to be a monster, but it had gotten stunted early on. This is my first grow. So since then, I had learned some, this younger Purple Hulk really took off and is looking better and healthier than this Big Bud, my very first grow.

January 25th, my light can't occupy both of these bigger girls and Big Bud definitely looks stunted compared to Purple Hulk. I'll be feeding a couple more days but then flush and prepared a dark room/closet for her Dark period. January 27th was her last day of daylight. Moved her into darkness on Jan 28th before the light came on.

Hallo. Was hoping to get some advice. I have 2 Big bud fem autos in week 8 indoor, coco/perlite. 200 w LED Lumatek growing. Canna Coco nutrients. Seeds by MSNL. They are now 2m and 30cm tall. Still not convinced they are autos. Did your girls have obvious flowering signs in week 7/8? Notice your grow took 15 weeks. If I am to experience the same time scale it would make sense that they are slow showing flowering. Apart from the height they are healthy looking girls. I am worried i have to put them through a day or two of darkness to provoke flowering incase they are photos. Downside if I am wrong is damaging end result/yield. Thank you. Happy growing.

Hi @Jfmart420. Those are some very nice looking buds. I am also using General Hydroponics nutrients, and am using two Bloom Plus 1500 LED lights. I think these are great lights because the have a full spectrum, including Infrared, which most LED lights lack. The light is also water resistant, and very cheap. I began my grow with one of these lights, but later noticed that they are rated for 3'x3' for veg, but only 2.5'x2.5' for flower. I also found a youtube review video that shows the Par rating for this light which confirms this. I have included the link for the video for you to check out. I think these are great lights, but from my experience and the information I have seen, you may want to consider getting a second for your next grow. Actually, when I purchased my second light, it was $30 off on Amazon that day, so I was able to get it for under $110 with free shipping. I thought this information may help you make a good decision concerning your lighting for your next grow. Keep up the cool grows man! - Budders www.youtube.com/watch
