Shooey Week 1 Francoβs Lemon Cheese. Another new one this season, a sativa to go with the pineapple chunk indica, so will be good to compare the two as the grow goes along. Two made it through, both about the same as each other. I really only wanted one of each but seeing as though itβs nice and healthy I think I will keep the 2 of theses. Topping up with a couple of hours light each evening and will continue this in coming weeks to make sure they donβt think about flowering early. Thanks for visiting π»

Shooey Week 2. Lemon Cheese is really tall and leggy due to the height of my indoor light, so I have fashioned some supports from chop sticks and garden wire. They are growing nicely and getting some great weather at the moment. Will be good to get through the next few weeks when they are more durable and I donβt have to fuss over them as much. Shooey Week 3. Lemon cheese were transplanted into 5l pots today, which gave me the chance to bury them a bit deeper and get back to a more reasonable height. All went well and they seem to like the new home. Decided to chase up to the bigger pots rather than put em straight in. Itβs nice being able to move them easier for a while. So far so good. π»

Shooey Week 4. Lemon Cheese is motoring along nicely. They seem to love the pot upsize and havenβt really stalled much at all. I made a nice batch of worm tea for them this week and started to feed some fish and kelp and bio vega. Still topping up the light at night for a couple of hours which I might keep up for a couple more weeks seeing as they are easy to move around in the little pots. So far so good, thanks for visiting π»

Shooey Week 5. New tops are growing back nicely and branches are coming out from everywhere. Of the 2, there are noticeable differences in some of the new growth and the overall growth rate. One is a bit better than the other, but they are both in excellent shape and pumping along nicely. Lots more topping on the cards for these as I canβt afford for them to get tall as my place doesnβt suit. So far looking really nice. π»

Shooey Week 6. This week has not been good. I repotted into nice big pots and some brand new organic βsuper soilβ I bought online. Although I cut the soil back with coco coir and peat, itβs way hot, and plants are showing some bad burn. Iβm now not sure whether to persist and hope they get used to it, or to dig em out and repot into some simple bag mix again, throwing away about $200 worth of soil and amendments. I gave them a huge soak today and will again tomorrow in the hope I can rinse the mix down a bit. Iβm shattered really because they were going so well before this. I wonβt ever use anything like this again, and will now stick to my tried and tested simple premium bag soil and perlite. Keeping it simple seems to deliver the best results. Will see how it goes but man, I am really not happy at the moment... π

Shooey Week 7. Both plants seem to finally be in recovery mode after last weeks disaster. The burn seemed to get a bit worse for a day or two. Then plants seemed to have a bit of shock and didnβt really change much at all. Finally they seem to have kicked in again. The new growths are looking really nice with no damage, so I topped for a second time yesterday. I didnβt want to add any more stress, but they were getting a bit taller and were due for topping. It feels like they are adjusting to the soil now and are close to back on track π»

Shooey Week 8. Lemon cheese is flying along. At 41cm last week, I tied the big girl down this week and the new growths have stretched out so well itβs still 2cm taller than last week overall. Itβs a real rapid grower. I clearly have 2 different phenos. In the smaller pot, much more indica, topped twice, I wonβt tie her down, just let her go from here. In the bigger pot a real sativa. Very branchy and busy after tying down. All going well this could be anything. Just gotta get through the harsh summer which is easier said than done. π»

Shooey Week 9. Lemon Cheese is in full stride. Plant 1 is 58cm tied down. It grew 14cm and would have been more had I not decided to top the highest points once again, in the hope that they will stall for a while and allow the lower branches to catch up. Plant 2 is also 58cm but not tied down. It only grew 5cm this week. Itβs in a smaller pot and Iβm starting to think this is the ideal size for my place as it is more discreet and easier to move around. Both plants are showing preflowers on the main areas. I had to move them all inside for a few days as we are experiencing some serious wind and rain due to a low pressure system. Iβm not sure how much longer I will be able to move the big pot on my own. Itβs nice having a potential beast in the yard, but in future years I will curb my ego and choose the smaller 25l pot and plant a touch later in the season. I donβt really need bucket loads of bud as itβs just for me and mates. Until we finally wake up and go legal in this country, I will need to favour discretion especially if I want to keep in the wifeβs good books ππ

Shooey Week 10. A great week for Lemon Cheese. Plenty of rain, followed by high humidity and the whole garden is beaming. LC is absolutely bursting with new growths. It only grey 8cm taller this week after topping, but it got a lot wider and fuller. So I did a big clean up around the bottom, and came up with this idea for a support, made from a few wire garden supports I got from the hardware store. I bent them and cut them and tied them together and came up with this cage style support. I feel itβs gonna work out ideal as a support and an outdoor scrog. Plant 2 is in a smaller pot, but is taller and had great growth this week. Iβm just leaving it to do itβs thing, but the super cropping experiment was a great success, with new growth and a quick recovery from injury. So I will definitely try this again on a future grow. A few hairs here and there but really still branching out at this stage. Itβs summer solstice here in 2 days, so flowering shouldnβt be far away at all. Thanks for stopping bye π»

Shooey Week 11. Lemon cheese is cruising along nicely. Plant 1 grew 19cm this week and started punching through the top of the supports. I pinched a couple more tops after the success of my first attempt earlier. By cropping rather than topping I have managed to fill some of the areas that didnβt have any tops coming through, and it has helped to even out the shape nicely and create new bud spots. Still no sign of flowering, which normally would be fine, but plant 2 is well and truly away, making me wonder why they are so different. Plant 1 is clearly more sativa so I might put it down to that for now. Days are getting shorter from now. Plant 2 is looking really full and nice. No tying with this one, just topped 3 times and leave it. It looks to have been in flower for about 2 weeks already. A good feed of worm tea this week, made from castings, molasses, coconut water, aloe and seaweed, and aerated for 24 hours. Plant 2 is getting bloom feed from here on out. Merry Christmas and happy new year to all of my GD mates ππ»

Shooey Week 12. Lemon cheese is doing really well. Only 9cm vertical growth, but I did top the three tallest tops in an effort to slow them a bit and even out the canopy. It appears to have worked well with the new tops surging back and most of the spaces filled with growth now. One side gets more sun than the other side at the moment, so I may try and even this out next time I move them. Plant 1 shows no signs of flowering yet, and continues to branch out all over the place. Plant 2 has been flowering for at least a couple of weeks already and is vastly different to the other one. Iβm expecting it to finish before the end of feb, but there is no telling how long plant one could take. Wishing you all a happy new year and best of luck in the gardens this year. π»

Shooey Week 13. Cheese had a growth spurt this week stretching 13cm in 7 days. Iβm almost positive itβs about to flower with the stretch and more preflowers on each node. Iβve already introduced some bloom feeding as I would like to get things moving with this one. Iβve got a feeling it will take forever to flower out,
With a week of showers, i have fed them a bit less this week. Plant 2 is well and truly budding, but no smell or resin at all yet, which is a bit strange. Iβm gonna try moving it once daily from now on to increase the amount of direct sun it is getting. With the smaller 25l pot itβs so easy to move if I need.
All in all they are healthy and happy at this stage. Thanks for checking in π»

Shooey Week 14. Cheese is about to start flowering!!
Finally. 14 weeks of veg is the longest I have done yet.
It looks unreal. Nice and even and full, and rods stretching through the top just as I had hoped.
Amazing how different the two plants are, with plant 2 well and truly flowering already, and very different shape and smell.
A bit suss really, if you were looking for a particular experience or grow, you would need to pop a few and find the one you want.
To be honest Iβm not wrapped with the smaller one. It doesnβt smell much and has a lot of leaf shuffled in the buds at the top.
I reckon the big girl is gonna be a lot better. I can already see those sativa rods taking shape.
Another week of lovely weather, and no real dramas, so all is going well at this stage. π»

Shooey Week 15. Finally cheese is flowering and I can see the finish line. Even if it is still around 10 weeks away!
Itβs a long ass grow but this is the one I wanted I suppose.
Stretched another 11cm this week to 130cm now. Itβs formed a great shape now thanks to the supports, although I would have liked the middle to come through a bit better. Because of my shade, the outer branches have done a bit better and crowded the centre ones a bit.
Iβm not that worried though, I feel as though where I may lose in some areas, I will gain back in others and it will even out in the end.
Plant 2 is about 3 weeks ahead in flowering already, and I reckon it will be a faster finisher than this one too.
I canβt say Iβm super impressed with plant 2. It might blow me away in weeks to come, but for anyone considering trying this strain, you really wanna get the sativa one, which may mean a popping a few seeds to find it.
All in all, another good week of weather and another week closer to the goal of getting these through without too many issues.
All the best guys, thanks for checking out my rant π»

Nice bud growth this week. A good week of weather and the buds are really starting to line up the branches nicely.
Stretched another 11cm this week to 140cm. This seems to be about the same growth for the last few weeks in a row now.
Iβm pretty excited about how this one might turn out. It sure has potential, but that doesnβt man itβs gonna be a show stopper.
But for now everything is where I would like it to be. No major food changes this week.
Plant 2 is budding away, but Iβm not sure if itβs gonna be top shelf. Lots of leaves shuffled in around the buds, and slow to gain weight.
Still, it will be worth the effort in the end Iβm sure.
All in all very happy with the way things are going along at the moment. π»

Shooey Week 17.
Not really an eventful week for lemon cheese.
Grew another 10cm so still stretching. Buds are slow to develop but are getting there.
A good week of weather with a bit of rain at night and humid days.
I moved it a bit, to where the chunk was before, as I suspect a street light may be slowing the bud growth a little, especially the top bits.
Plant 2 is still not getting me super excited, although it is finally getting some nice smell, despite it being slow to bulk up.
Not real sure about this one yet. The jury is out a bit, especially since I just harvested the awesome pineapple chunk next to it!
Will give it a few more weeks to show me something awesome. Cheers all π»

After another good week of weather, both lemon cheese plants are doing really well.
Plant 1, the big girl is starting to put on weight and look the part.
The stretch has slowed with only 5cm vertical growth this week, to 156cm.
A couple of the tops are slow to push out buds, where others are much more mature. Not sure how this happens,,,
Plant 2, the smaller one, is pretty close to finished already. The buds are really finishing off well.
I didnβt have the best opinion of this one, but it may just surprise me in the end.
Another week down, another week closer to harvest. π»

Lemon Cheese is killing it. Iβm just loving this grow.
Itβs very slow and steady with the big girl. She just takes her sweet time doing her thing.
Itβs like I donβt notice much for a few days, then it comes on for a while, like growing in pulsesπ€
A bit unusual, but I donβt mind cause it looks like a pearl.
Even the smaller buds are already dusted in resin.
She also seems to concentrate on certain parts at a time. Like some of my tops are nicely developed,
others hardly at all. A couple which had hardly any flowers have all of a sudden started catching up nicely,
so Iβm not worried at all.
As for the chillis, they are for my SAF mate @Epokwan
The birds eyes are too hot for me and could even make the grade with some of yours!
I think, the others are bell chillis? Not really too sure,, do you know?

Shooey Week 20. The longest grow I have had yet.
Another slow and steady week this week.
Very warm weather, and evening showers are creating very humid conditions.
She is loving it and looking good, but just taking her sweet time.
This is my longest grow yet, and itβs still gonna be quite a few weeks away from finishing.
The good thing is the humidity should ease a bit in coming weeks.
Easily the biggest change this week is the smell, it reeks!! Dank weird skunk smell, especially if itβs wet.
Scary what it might be like incoming weeks.
Plant 2 is cut and dry, so much quicker than plant 1, crazy really.

Shooey Week 21
An uneventful week. Itβs taking itβs sweet time for sure this one.
Iβm starting to wonder whether I will get those nice fat chunky buds at all, as it seems to be just cruising along.
Although it feels to me like itβs hardly moving, I can see a bit of difference in the pics from the week before so maybe Iβm just impatient.
Smells unreal, and has a nice dusting of resin along the buds.
Some of the buds are getting quite chunky, others are really only just getting going.
Itβs crazy that the other one of these I grew, and planted at the same time, is now already in the jars and being smoked!
Hoping for some good weather now, as the next 2 to 3 weeks will be crucial. π»

Shooey Week 22.
Lemon cheese seems like itβs finally getting a move on.
Buds are getting a lot fatter and some great colour coming through with the red hairs.
Unfortunately I have had to bring her in for a while due to a lot of rain.
We are expecting a good soak for at least a week, likely more, which is not ideal at this stage.
I will alternate between inside and outside when I am home. If I can get a few precious hours in the sun here and there I might be alright.
Iβm mostly worried about branches breaking as the buds get heavier.
I noticed in the rain, they get a bit soft and sag a bit. With a bit of wind they rub against the support I made. I didnβt anticipate this.
She seems to handle being inside for a day or so at a time. Usually we get great weather from now through winter, so hoping for some luck soonπ»

Not much to report other than rain rain rain.
Lemon cheese has been stuck in the shed all week. Not ideal at such a crucial stage for the buds.
But it couldnβt leave it out. The branches get soft and sag, and the risk of mould increases.
Expecting better weather this week so hoping to finish strong with this big girl π»
Lemon Cheese gave me plenty of highs and lows for sure. I was set to score it a bit lower, until I finally tried the big girl and she was immediately upgraded. I give Lemon Cheese 8/10 because...
Seeds - 2 for 2 which germed easily and grew nice and evenly.
Grow - I got 2 very different plants. One short and compact, finished in 16 weeks and gave me 3 and 3/4 ounces. The other plant was way biggerand took 23 weeks. It gave me just short of 6 ounces.
Vast differences in smell, grow, taste and quality. The big sativa girl is markedly better than the small one.
Got a bit of mould in the end, but after the rain we had, almost all growers I knew got it too, so give a pass there.
Buds - Pretty nice, not real dense but plenty of resin on the big one. Solid yield too. Smoke varies so much. The little one is nice and smooth, and distinctly lemon tasting.
The big girl, not so much lemon, but some beautiful earthy cream flavour and much more kick!
If you decide to grow this one outdoor, you definitely want the most sativa one, but prepare for a looong grow!

Shooey This was so interesting, in that it was my longest and biggest grow by far. I learned so much about various different stages and how to be patient over such a long grow. For me the lemon cheese is really good, but I also got an average smaller pheno as well, so you need to plant a few to find the diamond. Thanks for all the support along the way my GD mates π»π»π»
Big wide bush! She is spreading. Great work.
Silica additive and Mycorrhiza helps with the heat with the heat. Silica makes plants stronger and lose less water. Mycorrhiza increase plant capacity to pull in more water.
Another one is humic acid. It improves water retention in dense tight soil.
These three are my heat care kit.
@Shooey, at the moment it costs me 22c a week to replenish my reservoir with the bacteria. I got nothing to compare the roots against, but for newbie, even i i can tell a massive healthy root ball thats loving life
Hope you are still in the bosses good book mate. πππ
This Lemon Cheese is so big. Soon, the plant will smell. My boss is pouting every day with only two plants in full bloom. πππππ
@Med_in_Tropic, it's a battle mate for sure. I think she is mostly worried if friends come over and see the backyard. In future i will need to be more stealthy and keep em smaller... βΊοΈ
@Shooey, my opiniated in law's visited us this holiday. They came and admire my flower trees, house color scheme. And they did not notice my ganja patches at all. To them green's are the plants. All plants are the same. Beside, nobody know what this eccentric bloke does. πππππ
If asked, I'll them them these are maple leaves spinach. π
@Med_in_Tropic, π lucky you! Yes you never know what in laws you are gonna get! Mine are cool, Japanese, but they still know what it is i think. Honestly i am sick and tired of hiding another life. I just want to be honest and tell everyone this is my love and passion, and i dont wanna be judged for it. I think its time to be accepted and not considered criminals. In AUS, people glorify alcohol abuse like how many drinks you can have means how tough you are. But its me whi is doing wrong??? Uninformed hypocrites!!!π π
@Med_in_Tropic, thanks med. it looks like the support will be just right. Iβm really proud of it to be honest. Iβve seen different scrogs, trellis and chicken wire ideas but none like this.
I had this idea to make a 360 degree scrog, and enclose the plant, with the wire thick enough to support long buds as well as keep them nice and even. Also I can keep it for future grows! Cheers
The Francos LC is looking good mate!!!! I reckon it would do well in an even bigger pot
maybe 75L Keep up the good work I have these seeds and I may need to get past my bad experience with the wonder pie
so I can try some too π
@Hemp4humanity, thanks mate! I had to improvise with the supports here and tied down early on otherwise it would be too hard to hide from the neighborsπ but that's life when growing in a city... cheers Hemp ππΌ
@Shooey, yeah it's an unfortunate thing about the ridiculous laws we have to live under. Can make for some unnecessary anxiety. Great to see you making the most of it π²ππ
@Med_in_Tropic, yeah thanks med. This one would be a tangled mess if left to do its own thing. In my head i think it needs a support, then i come up with these crazy ideas like this one. I hope it works!!π
Your girls are coming along beautifully. Getting close to full flower too. The shortening daylength should get them moving along soon. Im also dropping the N and upping the P and K in my weekly fertilizer. Hope your getting some nice sun this week ππ²π
Stakes should be enough to keep them from breaking in the wind?
Even 25-liters pot is heavy when wet.
In future years you will have 100-liters pot because there wonβt be any moving at all ππππππ
@Med_in_Tropic, it does seem like GHS cops a fair bit of bad publicity from growers necause of this "pheno hunting". Now i see what they mean. I dont mind variation but i can see how some guys looking for a classic might get a bit pissed off
I think stable strains are too inbred. I rather have a strong one and then clone it a few rounds.
Actually mate, @Shooey, this would be a good time to take a few cuttings to clone.
@Med_in_Tropic, I never thought of it like that,, makes sense though.
I will try clones at some stage mate for sure, at the moment I canβt have any more than a couple at a time here, and I have
all these other strains I want to try too!
@Epokwan, thank you my bro. It is a good tip, the humidity is like i have never felt before. I have to give lemon cheese its dues, as it has handled a tough outdoor season well.
