Harvested 1.38 Oz of dried bud from this Canuk Cheese Auto. Did steal a couple grams pre-cure to try out the smoke. It is pretty smooth even before the cure. It has an earthy taste typical of skunk strains but doesn’t have a tonne of flavour, this will improve with cure. I was most impressed with the high from this strain, I was expecting more of a couch lock indica effect, but the high is lovely euphoric and energizing. Clearly the buds have fairly high THC content, the high is quite strong and long lasting even for a veteran like me... and the buds are absolutely coated in trichomes. It was a great little plant to test out my grow set up. It’s a small plant even for an auto, so might be good for a micro grow setup. It is quite fragrant during flower, I was able to keep things under control but it may not be the best stealth strain. Overall I really liked this strain. With the exception of some tip burn on the leaves it was a hardy and easy to grow strain with high THC. Knowing now how small the plant is I would grown two plants in a 2x2 tent in the future. I may try this strain again, but for now plan to experiment with a bunch of varieties.

This has been a decent low budget tent. I will likely go bigger at some point in the future, but it worked well for stealth. The some light escapes through the zipper. This is the only tent I’ve ever used, so not much to compare it to. It’s fairly well made and great price, kept the smell in. As expected.

Want to increase the humidity in the tent slightly (10-20%)... it’s currently 35-45% depending how moist the media is. I tried a small humidifier on its lowest setting but humidity was too high (85%)... want to use what are the best passive methods to increase humidity?

First off, your grow looks great so far and plant is very healthy! Like you already said, potentially keep your medium specifically the top moistened a bit more can certainly increase the RH directly around the plant. Another option that can work for some people (depends on situation) is reduce the exhaust fan speed to allow humid air to build up a bit longer before exhausting out of the tent. Furthermore like people said, you can put bucket of water, or what I like to do, fill a shallow tray with small rock and fill with water. The wet rock allows more surface area for evaporation to occur, meaning water should enter the air quicker and raise RH. I usually top the tray with fresh water once every day or 2. Last option is what I eventually did to reduce my stress about getting the environment perfect.... (not saying i got it nailed by any means, but this strategy gave me more comfort). I too struggle with slightly dry conditions in my 2x2 for veg (35-45%), and encountered the same problem as you regarding a humidifier causing too much humidity (go figure). For me, it came down to purchasing a couple temp/humidity controllers (Inkbird has some nice ones and not too expensive). For veg, a cool-mist humidifier for babies turns on when humidity gets below 50%, and shuts off around 55%... Although the humidifier turns off, the RH continues to slowly rise over 5-10 minutes, before RH gets above 70% causing my exhaust fan to kick on and gradually bring it back to 55% where it shuts off, and repeats when humidity gets low again. Let me know if any of these tips help, and whatever actions you take I wish you the best of success! :D - GreenGrows

First indoor grow and is a stealth grow. I’m wondering if complete odour control is possible for one plant. One auto in the tent with a large carbon filter and appropriately size duct fan, walls are sucked in — I also have ona blocks to place around room during flower.

It can totally be done. I have an air purifier in the room my tent is in. It's got an odour filter, so it seems to catch everything the carbon filter doesn't (also catches the stink from opening the tent). My way probably isn't the perfect way mind you, but if you read around, I've seen different methods that all seem logical.

Two main tops and a several smaller buds deeper in the plant that are not as far along in the flowering stage as the other six main tops. I’m wondering if I should harvest the mature tops when they come ready and let the others keep maturing or if this would be too much stress.

Yes, staggered harvests are possible, but be aware that the remaining flowers will take a lot longer to mature due to the removal of large sections of the plant causing a metabolic shock. Basically, this means there is less plant left to provide energy for the remaining flowers to ripen as fast as they were previously, when the plant was entire. If time is an issue, harvesting the entire plant is your only real option, but if you have time to wait, harvesting the tops and leaving the lower parts longer will be ok. In my experience though, the remaining flowers take 2-3 longer to finish than the expected rate of ripening. The second harvest flowers also never seem quite as good as the first harvested flowers and I suspect that due to the shock of half a plant going "missing", combined with the corresponding reduction in energy production (photosynthesis) and slowed metabolism, all contribute to second rate flowers that just don't have the punch of the flowers from the initial harvest. These days I just harvest the whole plant and deal with what I have got and not worry about "what could have been". Learning from this, it teaches how training your plant, combined with some "lollipopping" can result in a much more even harvest maturity, throughout the entire plant. I have also found that people generally are very happy to receive some free "not quite prime flowers" any time they are offered, especially some one who is a bit down on their luck at that time. It is amazing what some free buds will do to lift a persons spirits!! Otherwise you could make some cannabutter or various extracts with the "not quite prime flowers", but giving it away, really is a good feeling! Hope this helps,..... Organoman.

Are you flushing ? It's just the natural fade of the plant as it comes to the end of its cycle in flower. Nothing to worry about , it's just a lack of chlorophyll in the leaf as she fades out.

@@BeachGrower, I was struggling to keep the humidity and temperature up early on. Thanks for the tip.

@TheChronicHunter, thanks mate. Not sure about the light since it's a cheap one. But I kept a good 65% humidity in the tent while vegging and high temperature (up to 25c) with fresh air pulled from the outside. I think that was the key more than the light...

@@BeachGrower, thanks. You were able to achieve a much longer veg cycle and larger plant. Quality of lighting perhaps or variability in the phenotype.

i'd love to try canuk cheese auto...would you recommend it?
TheChronicHunter
TheChronicHunter
@CachimboDaPaz, this is just my first indoor grow, I’ll for sure review the strain after harvest and cure... that a ways off. From what I understand this is supposed to be a auto version of Exodus Cheese. Should smell like cheddar cheese at some point here. It’s a skunk variety so will be higher THC couch lock style chronic.

Curious to see how canuk cheese auto reacts to topping. Just got another freebie. 😉
TheChronicHunter
TheChronicHunter
@coriander, I may not have topped the plant normally, but my tent is only 48 inches, so I’m aiming for a plant <2.5 feet tall ideally. I’ve seen other grows on here where this strain untrained and untopped reached 3 - 3.5 feet. In hindsight, I might have just gone with LST to deal with the height issue. It has taken a couple days to recover from topping, but the lower branches have taken off now and the top is starting to as well. We’ll see! I’m used to photoperiods plants outside 😅
