Seed was soaked overnight and planted directly into its final pot yesterday. Took 48hrs to germinate under a dome. I have been a regular gardener for years and throwing caution to the wind on all these expensive substrates and nutrients. At the moment I am using a mixture of coco husk and all purpose potting soil with Giagreen 4-4-4 all purpose mixed in. I will also use a handful of potting soil with 4-4-4 mixed in a top dressing during the veg stage. No liquid nutrients at the moment

Want to increase the humidity in the tent slightly (10-20%)... it’s currently 35-45% depending how moist the media is. I tried a small humidifier on its lowest setting but humidity was too high (85%)... want to use what are the best passive methods to increase humidity?

First off, your grow looks great so far and plant is very healthy! Like you already said, potentially keep your medium specifically the top moistened a bit more can certainly increase the RH directly around the plant. Another option that can work for some people (depends on situation) is reduce the exhaust fan speed to allow humid air to build up a bit longer before exhausting out of the tent. Furthermore like people said, you can put bucket of water, or what I like to do, fill a shallow tray with small rock and fill with water. The wet rock allows more surface area for evaporation to occur, meaning water should enter the air quicker and raise RH. I usually top the tray with fresh water once every day or 2. Last option is what I eventually did to reduce my stress about getting the environment perfect.... (not saying i got it nailed by any means, but this strategy gave me more comfort). I too struggle with slightly dry conditions in my 2x2 for veg (35-45%), and encountered the same problem as you regarding a humidifier causing too much humidity (go figure). For me, it came down to purchasing a couple temp/humidity controllers (Inkbird has some nice ones and not too expensive). For veg, a cool-mist humidifier for babies turns on when humidity gets below 50%, and shuts off around 55%... Although the humidifier turns off, the RH continues to slowly rise over 5-10 minutes, before RH gets above 70% causing my exhaust fan to kick on and gradually bring it back to 55% where it shuts off, and repeats when humidity gets low again. Let me know if any of these tips help, and whatever actions you take I wish you the best of success! :D - GreenGrows

Beginning of week 3 I topped the plant. Bring on the haters 😂 I might not do this if I didn’t have height constraints — like outdoor. Open to insight on topping autoflowers if you have experience.

First indoor grow and is a stealth grow. I’m wondering if complete odour control is possible for one plant. One auto in the tent with a large carbon filter and appropriately size duct fan, walls are sucked in — I also have ona blocks to place around room during flower.

It can totally be done. I have an air purifier in the room my tent is in. It's got an odour filter, so it seems to catch everything the carbon filter doesn't (also catches the stink from opening the tent). My way probably isn't the perfect way mind you, but if you read around, I've seen different methods that all seem logical.

Looks like she’s just about to flower on Day 28 - pistils have formed on the upper leaders. I imagine she’ll take off this week and start to skunk up the funk up. I think my LED lights were too far away from the plant because they are not extremely high wattage. The plant seems stunted. Could also be associated with topping. It is extremely healthy though.

End of the first week of flower. I have finished LST the plant... judging by other grows of this strain it looks like mine flowered a tad early. Possibly topping triggered flower, in hindsight I would have waited for one or two more nodes to develop, but it’s still early. Definitely achieved a short bushy plant I was hoping for. I moved the LEDs a bit closer this week. Took suggestions to increase humidity using water poured over aquarium gravel and a small jug with a cloth half submerged. Worked perfectly. I like the aquarium gravel version the best. Day 41 - with the exception of some new tops extending from lower down on the plant, she has slowed down in terms of vertical growth and now the buds are beginning to swell slowly on the main tops. Definitely starting to smell a bit stronger end of this week.

Day 43 - Starting week 3 of flower. She’s drinking more water and smelling a bit stronger this week. Still not using any synthetic nutrients - I water the plant with water from my planted aquarium that I pH adjust with lemon juice. Finding it a bit difficult to keep the temperature up - as the tent is in my basement and... Canada - I do have the tent elevated off of the concrete floor.

4th week of flower and she’s not growing in height noticeably anymore. Buds have continued to swell by the day and pistols are changing from white to brown. I suspect there will be some stretching next week as the buds continue to develop. Day 55 - yellow tips on leaves developing. I’m guessing either nutrient burn or the lights are too close. Raised the lights a couple inches... I have been watering the plant with freshwater aquarium water, but I think I will start using just dechlorinated pH balanced water incase the nitrogen is too high there. Could this be pH issues at all?

Day 59 - Does she ever smell like stinky French cheese. I really didn’t think it would be so distinct, smells lovely. Buds are getting fatter by the day. Still just flushing with pH adjusted and dechlorinated tap water. The yellowing of the leaf tips has not gotten any worse.

Two main tops and a several smaller buds deeper in the plant that are not as far along in the flowering stage as the other six main tops. I’m wondering if I should harvest the mature tops when they come ready and let the others keep maturing or if this would be too much stress.

Yes, staggered harvests are possible, but be aware that the remaining flowers will take a lot longer to mature due to the removal of large sections of the plant causing a metabolic shock. Basically, this means there is less plant left to provide energy for the remaining flowers to ripen as fast as they were previously, when the plant was entire. If time is an issue, harvesting the entire plant is your only real option, but if you have time to wait, harvesting the tops and leaving the lower parts longer will be ok. In my experience though, the remaining flowers take 2-3 longer to finish than the expected rate of ripening. The second harvest flowers also never seem quite as good as the first harvested flowers and I suspect that due to the shock of half a plant going "missing", combined with the corresponding reduction in energy production (photosynthesis) and slowed metabolism, all contribute to second rate flowers that just don't have the punch of the flowers from the initial harvest. These days I just harvest the whole plant and deal with what I have got and not worry about "what could have been". Learning from this, it teaches how training your plant, combined with some "lollipopping" can result in a much more even harvest maturity, throughout the entire plant. I have also found that people generally are very happy to receive some free "not quite prime flowers" any time they are offered, especially some one who is a bit down on their luck at that time. It is amazing what some free buds will do to lift a persons spirits!! Otherwise you could make some cannabutter or various extracts with the "not quite prime flowers", but giving it away, really is a good feeling! Hope this helps,..... Organoman.

Day 63 - She’s deep into flower now, a little over half way through the flowering cycle I suspect. Buds are getting fatter by the day. I’m fairly confident it’s light stress that is causing the yellowing leaf tips on the plant. I raised the LEDs another couple inches today. The issue doesn’t seem to be much worse... will keep an eye on it. I’m hoping she will finish in the next 3 weeks so that my second auto can take over the tent after veg.

Day 70 - Starting 7th week of flower. There a few leaves starting to turn yellow now. Still have yellow tips on some of the leaves from what I think is light stress. Trichomes are still cloudy white, but a few are starting to go clear. Likely 2-3 weeks out from harvest. Continuing to flush with pH adjusted dechlorinated water Day 72 - The leaves are losing colour and the leaf tips have been yellowing for a while (including the sugar leaves)... not sure if this is a deficiency or light stress... or maybe a combination of both. I have a feeling it will be fine to make it to harvest, since it’s quite close. The smell is getting stronger the past few days - can faintly smell her through the tent at times. Day 74 - The leaves are continuing to yellow by the day. I did add a very small amount of K, Mg, Ca liquid fertilizer to the water the last watering to try to alleviate any deficiencies.

Are you flushing ? It's just the natural fade of the plant as it comes to the end of its cycle in flower. Nothing to worry about , it's just a lack of chlorophyll in the leaf as she fades out.

Day 77 - Starting week 8 of flower on this Canuk Cheese Auto. Canuk seeds say that this strain flowers in 8 weeks, which I would say is ‘optimistically accurate’ these buds could be harvested... but they are not quite ripe yet and the buds will likely grow the most in the next 2 weeks. The buds are very sticky and smelling stronger by the day. Looking forward to harvest in a couple weeks!

Landlord coming to do electrical for the second time this weekend... unfortunately I’ve had to cut this one a tad short. Starting to stink up the basement right where the panels are. She was ready enough though! Leaves we’re turning, nice purple colour to the buds. 134 grams (4.73Oz) of wet trimmed bud, and 51 grams (1.80Oz) of trim. I’m guess I’ll see a little over an ounce of dry bud — but we’ll have to wait to find out! Day 82 - Jan 26th
