I just dropped the seed in the water today. My MSG Sour Diesel Fem Auto had a baby from grow 2. This is that baby, so it probably is Fem and probably Auto, thus the ?'s. The seed is in a shot glass with 10ml of distilled water inside a dark black paper bag on a stereo. I'll check back in 18 hours and then straight to soil in a compostable .01 size gallon container, must stay in the same measurement preference. The soil is the same as before, 50% potting soil, 25% compost and 25% perlite. I'll be spraying with distilled water until she's a week old.
Week 1 is Nov 11 to Nov 17. The seedling came up with the shell still on. After 3 days I removed it since it didn't fall off. I put a small shot glass on top to soften. Then she got too tall for the shot glass. The seedling still has shell membrane on one of the embryo leaves. If seed shells are left on the embryo leaves sometimes refuse to open. If that happens the plant could die. It needs the light to grow.
Week 1 is Nov 11 to Nov 17. Note this is 100% compost tea roughly 5 ml per day. The clover gets watered about 10-40 ml per day. I sometimes use rain water.
Week 2 is Nov 18 to Nov 24.
Week 3 is Nov 25 to Dec 1.
Week 3 is Nov 25 to Dec 1. Second leaves are showing. Clover is popping up all over. I took some from my yard and needed more so I went to the dispensary at 10 pm after they closed and dug up some of theirs on the strip of dirt in front of the shop. Clover is a good source of Nitrogen.
Next week 4 is Dec 2 to Dec 8.
Week 4 is Dec 2 to Dec 8. Third leaves are showing. Clover is popping up all over. I've upped to 10ml of straight compost tea or rain water every day.
Next week 5 is Dec 9 to Dec 15.
Week 5 is Dec 9 to Dec 15. Fourth set of leaves are showing. Instead of 1-3-5 I got 1-3-3 on the third set of leaves. They didn't turn out with 5 points oh well. I've upped to 20ml of straight compost tea or rain water every day.
Next week 6 is Dec 16 to Dec 22.
Week 6 is Dec 16 to Dec 22. Fifth set of leaves are showing. Fourth set of leaves turned out with 5 points yeah! In summary I got 1-3-3-5 instead of 1-3-5-5. I've upped to 30ml of straight compost tea or rain water every day.
Next week 7 is Dec 23 to Dec 29.
Short for the age. Oh well. And worse yet had to go out of town for a funeral. Dog/cat/house/pot plant and curing sitter LOL.
Week 7 is Dec 23 to Dec 29. Sixth set of leaves are showing. Fourth and fifth set of leaves turned out with 5 points yeah! In summary I got 1-3-3-5-5 instead of 1-3-5-5-5. I've upped to 50ml of straight compost tea or rain water every day.
Next week 8 is Dec 30 to Jan 5 she will be in flowering mode by then.
Week 8 is Dec 30 to Jan 5. Eighth set of leaves are showing. Six and seventh set of leaves turned out with 7 points yeah! In summary I got 1-3-3-5-5-7-7 instead of 1-3-5-5-5-5-5. I've upped to 80ml of straight compost tea or rain water every day.
Next week 9 is Jan 6 to Jan 12 she will be in flowering mode by then.
Week 9 is Jan 6 to Jan 12. At the beginning of the week Sour Diesel was no flowers, and 12 inches tall and 8 inches from the light total 20 inches. Towards the end of the week, I lowered the plant another 8 inches by removing a box, since she grew closer to the light. For some reason I've been recording the measurement at the start of the week.
Five pointed leaf pairs are showing up on the trunk in 3 spots. Six and seventh set of leaves turned out with 7 points yeah! In summary I got 1-3-3-5-5-7-7 instead of 1-3-5-5-5-5-5. The eighth and ninth set of leaves are emerging as 7 points.
Next week 10 is Jan 13 to Jan 19 she will be in flowering mode by then.
Week 10 is Jan 13 to Jan 19. At the beginning of the week Sour Diesel had flowers, and 20 inches tall and 8 inches from the light total 28 inches. Towards the beginning of the week, she was growing 2 inches per day, I lowered the plant another 11.5 inches by removing a table.
There are now 11 flower sites.
Next week 11 is Jan 20 to Jan 26.
Wk 11: Jan 20 to Jan 26. There is 2 locations with 8 pointed leaves. The 7th set of leaves has one and the 8th set of leaves has one too. The 9th and 10th are 7 points. I lowered the height again. She's still growing at times at 2 inches a day. Not much change with the flowering. I clearly would have had more yield more bud sites evenly distributed to the light if I had topped at week 5. At that time she was 5 weeks old out of the theoretical 10 weeks that is 50% and only 3 inches tall and had only 1-3-3 pointed leaves with beautiful 5 pointed leaves coming in. So I don't regret it, hard to see the future this plant might hit 4 feet soon. To combat the high height I've lowered her one last time. The only other thing I can do is move her to the side where she will have to bend over to see the light.
Wk 12: Jan 27 to Feb 2.
Wk 12: Jan 27 to Feb 2. I had to raise the lights today. Completely given up on the measuring. She was is close to 4 feet tall and -2 inches from the light. All scrunched up into the light. I tried some stretching today. Moved her down about 2 inches, wasn't worth it. In about 3 days when she gets near the ligth I'll have to stretch her and that will help. I also don't have any compost tea because the dirt outside is frozen. I'm still watering 1/2 cup which is about 120 ml and about 1/16 of a gallon. Also all that moving around, she emitted some strong smells momentarily. Wk 13: Feb 3 to Feb 9.
Wk 13: Feb 3 to Feb 9.
I'm still watering 1/2 cup which is about 120 ml and about 1/16 of a gallon. I went back to using compost tea.
Wk 14: Feb 10 to Feb 16.
Wk 14: Feb 10 to Feb 16.
Used melted snow for the compost tea. Heart shaped bud for V-Day, see picture. She grew 7 inches this week.
Wk 15 Feb 17 to Feb 23.
Wk 15: Feb 17 to Feb 23
I can't believe she's 5 foot 4 already. I did some major bending to keep her in the space. My green house arrived, although she is too fragile to move outside.
Wk 17 Mar 3 to Feb 9.
Week 16: Feb 24 to March 2. I'm not measuring any more. After all that bending she is surviving and growing about 1/2 inch closer to the light every week. About 5 weeks ago I got new light bulbs. I replaced the 40 watt pair with a new pair of the same size.
Wk 17: March 3-9. Still growing 0.5" closer to the light every so often until she is too close. I had to do a major bending. This plant is 4 months old and losing a few leaves.
She has a strong smell of melted butter on pop corn. I did quite a bit of bending this week as she keeps growing to the light. Looks like I might have damaged the plant and she is falling. We will have to wait until next week to see what happens.
The bottom leaves are starting to fall off. This is the 9th week of flowering. Looking forward to a harvest around May 10. Unfortunately I'll run out of current supply before then. Figure 4 weeks of curing, if I dry for 2 weeks and I'm not ready to chop yet. Might have to put this plant outside for her last couple of weeks when it gets warmer. Still testing out the greenhouse.
Still pretty much the same. She's emitting an aroma that practically gives you a contact high. After a 3 day cold snap I might consider putting her outside in the green house. Then I can straighten her up and harvest her. I bet if you weigh the stalk she weighs a pound.
She's been moved outside. I've managed to keep her alive another week. I'm using a wire to clip her to the roof. She's permanently curved. I'm thinking about harvesting a small piece. Then I'll dry and weigh her outside in my dehydrator for 7-10 days. I doubt I can go all the way to 14. I've done some measuring and that area is 60-90% humidity and also about 60 degrees. My dehydrator is in the garage and when it is unplugged it gets very humid. Then I'll cure her for 28 days or until the bud has been smoked. Maybe I can cure the weed outside. Especially if it is 60% and in a drawer. I'll have to measure the temperature and humidity of the drawer. Since the weed is a Sativa that will be perfect to go with a bike ride starting in the garage.
Most days it is about 75 in the green house and maybe 65 during the night. One time the air humidity was so high my glasses steamed up. She's on the 21st week not sure how much longer I can go before harvesting. Anyway I harvest a 2gram bud and it is hardly noticeable that it has been removed. Then I put it out to dry for a week now. Hopefully I can stretch the drying process out for 2 weeks. I also cut a small bud and gave it away. I forgot to weigh it so I will assume it was also 2 grams. What would that be in dry weight? Certainly 0.2 grams? Is dry weight after the curing process is complete? Does it matter? Just smoke. I'm going to run out of weed shortly and then I might just harvest this plant 2 weeks at a time and keep a pipeline of fresh weed coming. Eventually some of it will make it through the whole 6 week dry/cure cycle.
I had to post 6 pictures instead of the usual 4 because so much needs to be photographed. The first harvest as dried for 11 days and is super sticky. It went from 2.31 grams to 0.65 grams. The plan is to take this next bud that was harvested and let it dry for 14 days.
Trying to do mostly harvest picture before and after drying amounts. In this picture I went from April 19 to May 3. I dried 4.49 grams, my prediction of 1.23 grams was pretty close. It went even lower to 1.16 grams.
Holding steady with 4 grams wet to 1 grams dry. Here are some harvest pictures. One picture is 2.4 gram bud I gave away, so that will dry down to about 0.6 grams.
I took 7 pictures which is 3 more than needed. My predicted yield is now 20 grams. For this harvest I show a before and after picture. There might be another 22 grams wet, yet on the plant. I still won't get my first ounce dry plant. That is what I get for not topping. The harvesting as you go is needed to replenish my supply. Now at this point I got one jar curing as of May 14 and one jar curing as of May 21. The last batch dried for 7 days and went from 14.82 down to 4.13 or a 3.59 wet/dry ration.
She is still going.
There was some mold issue. Prior to that by about a week or 3 days the top turned extremely dry and brown, so I unwisely left it on. I didn't cut the top cola off and I missed an opportunity to harvest that part mold free. The moldy weed I kept wasn't worth photographing. I weighed it after it got rained on and it was 10.49 grams and after 1 day it was dry and 4.04 grams. I separated the brownish weed from the green weed. The greenish weed is definitely not dry because it accounted for. 0.71 grams of the 4.04 grams.
I removed the cast from the first bend. Neat to see the knuckle she made.
The last batch dried for only 5 days and went from 21.75 grams down to 5.87 grams.
To keep the math simple and to shoot for a June diary of the month I plan to say 25 grams dry and 100 grams wet.
She's still in flower because I left one bud at the bottom. I've photographed the muscle at the top. The top cola was so heavy she bent over about 6 inches from the top.
There is nothing left. Just finished drying for 13 days the last harvest. I saved the stem. She stopped flowering and the little 1/4 inch bud fell off. I dug her up and there wasn't much root.
Smells like melted butter. Come July 14 the last jar will be done curing. Ended up with about 1 oz dry. Had to show it in grams. Roughly 7 of the eighths made it to full curing.
