buds forming nicely. gonna stay small but also sharing a 2x2 tent with a bunch of pants ready for outside once it warms up enough. starting to get a nice smell though, and at least its staying in the area i want it to fit in.
finally has some space to spread out, as mostly everything else has gone outdoors. buds are forming nicely but not quite to size yet. im hoping they get alot bigger over the next few weeks but i doubt it, some hairs are already turning amber. trichomes are still clear and small though so hope it has about 3-4 weeks for buds to thicken.
hairs starting to get red. think this might be the last feeding. possibly 1 more depending on how it looks. buds arent huge but they look nice. hopefully they get bigger and get more trichomes before its done
Pistils / Hairs are not the best way to tell when your flushing window is open. You should wait until all of your buds have gone fat & rock-solid, check the trichomes with a magnifier/hand-held microscope, and start flushing when the trichomes are turning from clear to milky. Then, watch carefully everyday and wait for all the trichomes to be milky (some may start becoming amber, you're good to go!). I'll be around, keep us up-to-date and good luck with this beauty!
did some major defoliation this week and gave her another feeding, see how she looks next week before i say for sure if this was her last feeding, buds are looking nice and frosty. pistils are about 30-40% amber. trichomes are still clear / cloudy, no amber yet.
pistils are mostly red. trichromes are not turning yet. starting the flush now. 1 branch broke while i was away so im drying it to see how it is. this was alot longer run than expected
flush is going well. some purpling showing. trichromes are still milky but some are starting to go amber. waiting for 50% amber before i harvest but want a long flush.
ok im on day 88 and only maybe 5% of my trichromes are amber, but the rest are milky. not sure what the inside of the bud is like but thats what i can see outside. strain info says it shouldnt pass 90 days. should i keep going for 1 more week or should i harvest?
Hi there! I'd recommend to harvest as soon as possible. Amber trichomes are signs of over-maturity, THC production has reached it's peak and is now lowing down. On the other hand, waiting a few more days after amber trichomes has appeared, will give you more CBN&CBD. Two important things to consider : the strain you're growing + the effects you're looking for. Considering you're currently growing an hybrid that is known to have a ‘couch lock’ effect, you shouldn't wait too long otherwise it will only be good at making you sleepy! harvested the tops. took the rest out of the tent today. gonna leave it in my bedroom with the ac for 2 days before i havest the rest of the bottom buds. dry buds are just beginning cure. very airy buds but has the true northern lights smell. tryed a bud before throwing into the cvault and the effects were nice. hopeing for a bit better taste after cure. harvest update will be next week
not a bad turn out, could have been better with more attention and space but not bad considering how crowded it was throughout most of its life. buds are very airy but still good. probably wont grow this one again but was fun while it grew0
