Looked to be a slight nute burn? Otherwise looked great bouncing back from heat stress last week. Also transplanted to 10 gal pots with living soil.

Plants seemed to adjust well into the soil mix in 10 gal. I ran short on the soil so I only managed to fill about half way in the pots. I still grew out cover crop because I figured I would be better off building up the humus layer early. Beats mixing soil after pulling my back lifting up a bale 🤪 Topped after seeing new growth. Water pHed to 6.2 to 6.5.

Plants are growing well after the topping. As the soil stays relatively moist all the time, gnats started coming around. I've ordered some beneficial nematodes to try to get it under control before too late. Left out sticky traps to monitor population. No special watering recipe, just a wee bit of kelp juice to bring pH down as my water reads 7.8pH after the carbon filter. Slight variagation on the leaves of Afghan Kush but it is minimal.

Missed taking photos last week and most of this week due to busy work schedule. They grew without issues all two weeks. Ended up feeding with an aerated nutritive and enzyme tea. Roughly 1 gal each plant, once a week. Also moved the pots to the bigger flowering tent as the space was getting tight. Small tent will accommodate the new plants which can be found in my other journal! Enjoy the video of pre and post defoliation of the Afghan Kush!

Plants are loving the bigger tent with temperature being easier to manage. I have been light on the defoliation, keeping branches I want to take as clones in the coming weeks. Blue Cheese 1 is looking stunted but I'm told this line is a stretcher so I will keep out for surprises.

Got busy with work and forgot to keep track with photos. Took 2 rounds of clones but didn't make it to the grow store to get Rockwool cubes. Stuck the clones directly into a perlite peat mix. Clones seemed to wilt heavy in the first 24 hrs. Wonder if there are any methods for high rate of success as I'm losing about half of them this way.

I am cloning with about 50% success rate. - I used perlite/peat mix as a medium as I am lacking the Rockwool cubes. - Temps remain steady at ~24degC/75degF - RH range from 75-90% - Considering heat mat, wonder if this will help Would love any recommendations/tips for cloning!

I get over 90 percent sucess and all I do i cut the branch I want to make a clone put it ro water cup make 45 degree cut under water dip into cloning solution place in rapid rooter. Into the dome with a heat mat and a week later they have roots coming out the rapid rooter. I use them for all my seeds too great product. You can also shave a bit of the stem before dipping but I've done without with no visible change. Cut cut dip plant dome and done.

Defoliation this week! Just getting rid of leaves & nodes getting in the way of future bud sites. Plants were flipped to flower and started showing pistils in 4 days. Trellis has been set up in time for the stretch period in early flower. Gnats are proving persistent although populations are managed with my second application of nematodes. Feeding nutritive teas as I am now feeling like there may not be enough in the soil but we'll find out come harvest!

Plants were in full bloom this week and although I was expecting a more of a stretch, I instead started seeing tighter internode spacing. Let's hope these plants hit a growth spurt once they start budding. Smell wise, I'm a terrible judge. I am in the tent too often to recognize the smell of early flower. Looking forward to smelling some gas in a few weeks!

Plants are cruising through and stacking nicely. Brewed & fed flowering tea recipe & plants responded with some smell starting to feel up my tent. Blue Cheese definitely has some funky cheesy & earthy aroma. Afghan kush smell is the most exciting to smell these days as its aroma is something akin to a perfume. Can't wait to see what the rest of this week looks like.

Another easy week. Just more flowering tea but starting to taper off. I have been just plain water for every other watering. I know I went living soil to make it easy but this feels too easy. Afghan Kush: Despite its discolored leaves it's.cruising along and buds are starting to get frosty and adding volume each day. I had already noticed the variagation (discolouration) on some leaves of this plant in the first few weeks of veg. Some research led me to believe this may be TMV (tobacco mosaic virus) with very similar Google images. However for a virus it doesn't seem to spread very easily as it hasn't infected other plants or other leaf sites in in proximity. Bud development seems to be largely unaffected except for the obvious pigment discoloration. Blue Cheese 1&2 are cruising along and stacking nicely. I am always finding myself drawn to the aroma of something similar to berries or mango. This strain seems to be a great candidate nfor SOG style next run on my 2x4 fabric bed.

A bit of panic this week as I started noticing some deficiencies with the 2 of the bigger plants (AK & BC2). I suspect it's due to in part being the first run in the soil & not enough time to breakdown some components in the soil mix. Hit with some nutritive aerated teas & EWC to hopefully offset the damage into the later weeks of flower. Next run I'll try hitting the plants with teas prior to the flip. I will be easing off the teas starting next week to straight water until harvest. Otherwise, buds are getting frosty and getting fatter, 3 more weeks🙏

One strain has been battling a deficiency and popped what looks to be a in-bud manner. Please let me know if this is a confirmed hermaphrodite🙏

Yes, male flower. Even if it does shed pollen, there will not be enough time for seeds to grow and if they did, they would be female seeds. This is a last ditch effort by your plant to reproduce and is common in older unfertilized females. For pictures of what they will grow into, go to my Sweet, Sweet Seed #3 diary and pictures 29, 30 and 31 will show you. Unless your plant is infested with them, there is no real need to do much, but it is probably safer to remove any you see. They are still 2-3 weeks away from being able to release viable pollen and then it takes another 4-6 weeks for the seeds to form, so unless you are more than 6-9 weeks away from harvest, I wouldn't stress too much. Just pick them out as you find them and all will be well. If you are really keen, you could let one grow until it sheds pollen, fertilize a flower or two and this will stop your plant from producing any more male flowers. This is due to the plant "recognizing" a change in hormones associated with seed growth and this will "tell" her there is no more need to produce male flowers, as success has occurred and seeds are being made. These sneaky male flowers are also the reason why one or two seeds show up in plants that were nowhere near any males at any time. Isn't cannabis so clever! Hope this helps,..... Organoman.

Well as you can see lots have happened 🤪 [Afghan Kush]: After showing strong bud development early flower it looks to have stalled this week. I noticed it was also not drinking as much. 2.5l, every two days as opposed to 4l every two days with the blue cheese. I am 80% sure it is a VPD issue as I may have been overly cautious in fear of mold with RH hovering in the 30%-37% with temps at 26c-27c. Will holder steady around 45-50% for the remainder of grow. Also hit with WCA solution made to offset the deficiency that ravaged all my fan leaves. [Blue Cheese 1]: This strain was the embodiment of the folktale, 'Hare and the Tortoise'. She was a slow starter, most stressed, and most stunted looking plant. Clones have not rooted well (1/10 success) and I had pretty much written it off. However it bounced back strong from all my mistakes as an inexperienced grower and continued showing bud development into this week. This pheno must be able to withstand the ranges in humidity in my tent environment. Looking forward to her finish as she is definitely more Blueberry than the cheese! 🍇 [Blue Cheese 2]: This pheno was also able to handle the humidity but I believe the deficiency hasn't quite been overcome yet. Unfortunately with so little time to go in flower there won't be much left for me to do but to let it ride out. Damage seems to have stopped and hasn't progressed as much as the Afghan Kush. I would have loved to see her in full form but sometimes it's just the way it goes! Happy growing!

Blue Cheese 1 still putting on the size! And same with Blue Cheese 2 doing a late push. Afghan Kush has completely stalled and I would guess because it's lost so much of its canopy to the extreme calcium deficiency experienced. I will get my opportunity for redemption on these same strains as I have clones that are getting ready to be transplanted as soon as these are harvested. Happy growing family 🙌
