Pumped out 1/2 gallon of water and replaced with nutrient solution. 11/17 - Switched to 1000w LED light. 100% white, 100% red, 60% blue. 28" from top of seedlings. Setting to 16 hours on, 8 off. 11/18 - Switched back to the Aerogarden lights because the 1000w was too strong and I can't get the plants further away from the light. Will switch back once flowering starts 11/19 - Raised the lights to 5.5" above the larger plant (#1) 11/20 - I had the plastic dome covers over three of the empty holes in the Aerogarden top. I placed foil and tape over those holes to eliminate the light and possible heat getting into the water tank. Tank temp is currently at 70 degrees. 11/21 pH 5.7, PPM 778 11/22 pH 5.7, PPM 779

11/30 - placed viparspectra light at 27" above plants (noticed some tip yellowing on the top leaves and think it might be light burn.) 100% veg, 60% bloom. 6.01 pH, 818 tds. Topped both plants above 4th node. 12/01 - Lights are now at 25", but had to lower intensity since top leaves started curling from too much light (70 Veg, 42 Bloom). 5.9 pH, 795 tds. Flushed tank and replenished with 850 tds, 5.9 pH water. 12/02 - Lights are 24" above (plant grew nearly an inch yesterday). Increased bloom to 80%. Actual values are 70% Veg 56% bloom. 6.1 pH, 835 tds. 12/03 - Took two of the bottom leaves off each plant due to damage. 12/04 - 5.9 pH, 756 tds. Performed lst on top two nodes of #1 and #2. Rasied lights to 27" above canopy. Still at 70 % veg, 56% bloom 12/05 - 6.1 pH, 759 tds Plants came alive this week. Lots of defoliation and LST.

12/15 - Flushed tank and replenished with nutrient water. 6.05 pH, 815 tds. Also lowered the light amount to 75 % Veg/Bloom because of leaf curling on younger top leaves. 12/18 - 6.2 pH, 480 tds. Added 24 oz of water with pH of 5.5, resulting in 5.9 pH, 400 tds. 12/21 - 5.0 pH. The lack of nutrients seems to be driving up the pH in the water. tds as at 240. Flushed the tank in the evening and replaced with pH 5.9, tds 1050

Grow Questions

When feeding plants, the pH will increase after feeding (e.g. go from 5.8 to 6.5 overnight), but start to dive after about 4 days (go from 6.2 to 5). Should I be feeding the plants around the time the pH takes a dive or just maintain pH until next weekly feeding?

You need to find out why you have such wild fluctuations. This starts with a full on res change. You also need to measure EC regularly. Google "EC pH hydro chart" and it should give you a good idea of what your issue is based on these two reading. Organic nutes tend to be less stable as far as pH goes, so that could be your problem. Good luck either way, message me if you hit a dead end.
