So first week down and have learned so much already.
Both girls were different shades of green, Halle being lime green and Nina a dark green. Neither were the vibrant green I was looking for.
Started to suspect they weren't taking up nutrients from the soil as efficiently as they should and this was proved right when I checked the runoff water for the first time.
It was 5.2 after I'd watered with 6.3. Should mean that the root soil PH is around 5.75, (water in + runoff) / 2 = root PH.
My growing medium is 35% Terra Aquatica Light Mix, 30% peat moss, 25% perlite and 10% vermiculite.
Little did I know that peat moss acidifies the soil. Made the rookie mistake of not checking this before I planted.
I've ordered some garden lime to try bring the PH back up and am watering with a higher PH water between 6.5 and 7.0 in the meanwhile.
Hopefully this will fix things and am happy I realised early into the grow.
Have also ordered a soil PH meter to help monitor the issue and prevent it from happening in the future.
Despite this, the ladies seem to be doing decently, although Nina is a little bit stunted and isn't keeping up with Halle's growth.
Halle did germinate a day and a half before Nina though and is more vibrant.
Will see how things go in week 2. Planning on starting nutrients when they've developed their 3rd set of leaves.
U should try blue dream autoflower from humboldt in pure coco. Super easy and yield go over 100grams easy with your light. These blackberrys are very sensitive for first time growers in soil
