I only have the one pic of these girls, first 5 days after sprout. Been dealing with some pH, and ppm problems; since I'm new to hydro, I thought it would be a good idea to keep a diary on these sorts of things 😁. I've grown this strain before in soil with organic amendments, so I thought I'd give it a shot since she grew relatively small last time but with some beautiful colours to her.
Starting to get a little bigger now, the girls are looking good. I've noticed a few taproots peaking under the hydro pellets and although I don't have the pH issue under control as of yet, she's still living life as much as she can.
Finally resolved my pH problem with the help of some friends and experiments done in some smaller reservoirs. My buddy came to the conclusion that the tap water was the issue I was dealing with, as I didn't bubble or let the water sit before filling my reservoir. Finally, I'm starting to see some new growth and some more chlorophyll return to the leaves. Though this problem hindered their growth quite some, I've learnt a lot about hydro in these past 3 weeks and I'm looking forward to flower!😁
Everything going smoothly so far this week, I noticed extra pistils starting to form on some bud sites since yesterday; as flowering starts I emptied my reservoir filled with Gro-A&B nutrients and replaced with Bloom-A&B nutes from dutch hydroponics.
Dropped the water level in my reservoir and added some more nutes as I was having some problems with droopy leaves as well as a N + Mg deficiency. Everything has been resolved and the girls are starting to stretch up and out 👌
Looking really nice this week, starting to form their beautiful purple pistils and sugar leaves. Gonna be some nice looking bud as they're going to start getting fatter now since the stretch has finally finished.
Defoliated slightly to allow some light reach the lower buds. They've been heavy feeders recently, eating up the all nutes from the res in no time, but I've been keeping up with their needs. This is one dark plant though, they have turned almost black in these past few days so I'm going to drop the temps in their last few weeks to really see their colours pop!
Left the girls for a week to see my family for the holidays and came back to some droopy, yellowing, necrotic foliage though the buds have turned almost black at this point 😁 roots still look healthy and the reservoir has been refilled, so they should bounce back any day now!
So far the ladies are looking good except for the largest one, it appears she's had some sort of nutrient lock since last week and I am now just dealing with it. I've never had nutrient lock happen on a plant before but I guess that's the risk you take with hydro. No matter though, the other 2 are looking quite nice and are chunking up every day and the other is hopefully soon to follow.
Still dealing with some wilting and drooping of the leaves. Just checked my ph this morning to figure out it had dropped to 4.9😓 I have changed the res and filled it w a small-medium strength nute solution. I'm getting my ro filter this week so hopefully I can flush with some water that isn't as hardy as my tap.
Found a thrip problem within my beautiful autoflowers 😪 thought I was only dealing with a lockout issue on the one plant just to realize I had a good sum of thrips I could see on the underside of some defoliated leaves. Not sure what to do at the moment as its so late in flower, and its only had some impact on a few fan leaves. Going to wait a few days and keep a good eye on them, hopefully I should be able to decide by then.
Cut down the largest of the Elixir CBD 4 days ago due to the nutrient lock she experienced. Not expecting much from her as I will most likely make edibles or hash out of the one, it does have some nice terps to her. The other two are looking very healthy and are coming down sometime this week I imagine.
Finally, she has come to a finish with the three ladies coming out to a total of 60.8G. I would say I'm slightly proud of this grow, if only it weren't for the hiccup I had during mid flower. The buds are a little airier than I like, however she smokes like a charm and I would definitely recommend this strain to anyone looking for a high CBD dominant strain. Thanks for all the support this run; seeing as it was my first attempt to hydro it is very much appreciated! Til' next time
I can't get over those horn that are sticking up from the black stems/leafs/wtf
It looks like a monster. If that is just one girl, please preserve it's phenome and get seeds from it :D
It would be monsterous for halloween partyes etc ;)
Hey where did you get those red plant trainer things? I have never seen those before. Wonder if there is a name for them that I can search for. Your plant is looking great by the way!
@CBDAutoGrower, Thank you! Sorry for the late reply😬, I bought these off of etsy, however I'm sure you can find them somewhere online if you search "90 degree plant trainers" 👍
