My main question at this point is should I be defoliating some of the fan leaves to expose more bud sites or just leave it go? I've read opinions on both sides, some stating that autoflowers don't particularly respond well to defoliation and others think that it is critical

Defoliation will prevent mold, it will help you to have a better control on your LST and setup a beautiful canopy. It will also increase the air-flow around your stems/buds, it will dramatically increase the speed of growth and create a more compact plant. Judging on your last pictures I'll say that defoliation is already possible, even more, it's required/highly recommended : your plants are healthy, they developed several nodes, they're bushy and it looks like some bottom branches can't get enough air & light. Go for it, keep us up to date and good luck with these beauties!

HickNella All the buds on plant 1 seemed to have doubled in size this week. She's also starting to get a very sweet citrusy smell. I'm loving how sticky and smelly everything is, especially after trimming.

HickNella These ladies have been brilliant so far. They don't seem to be stressing out at all whatsoever from the defoliation. After trimming there is resin covering my fingers, clippers, and anything else the plant touches. Super smelly

Most, if not all the stuff you can do to improve yield is done in the vegetative or stretch phase. At this point the best you can do is to not be anxious and let the plant finish. What you can do is to remember that the most weight gain happens in the final 2 weeks of flowering, so be sure not to harvest early.

HickNella Plant 1 is really starting to bulk up, I'm thinking 2-3 weeks before harvest. I've been gradually reducing nutrients to prepare for flushing. Starting to see the fan leaves turn yellowish around the edges, but it's not too noticeable with all the trichome coverage😁

HickNella Still no amber trichomes yet, so I'll continue feeding until I see a few. The scent has changed from a sweet citrus in early flowering to more of a skunky scent with citrus undertones. Hoping she can bulk up a bit more as there is still lots of empty space between buds

HickNella Spotted some amber trichomes this week, so I started flushing about halfway through the week. For flushing I've eliminated all nutes but terpinator. A lot of my branches on plant 1 are starting to lean quite a bit and shes bulking up still. Going to harvest in one week.
