Mother #2 of Growers Choice white fire gelato, hopefully will be as good as #1
Clones where out in 7 days (a little longer than i prefer) using small cubes soaked in tap water, clonex, propagator 85% rh 26C.
Will be sticking to what i know as usual
Canna A & B plus Canna additives
Having learned quite a bit from an old timer i have adjusted how i mix my nutrients having always just added dosage to my 5 or 10 litre bucket and just mixed and tested.
As per the back of most nutrient lines i will be trying to stick to specific mix ratios ie 1/250 A & B and mixing separately.
Also will be concentrating on Vapour pressure deficit, i had a lot of problems last time with humidity, where i went wrong was drawing cold air which doesn't hold as much mositure as warm air which causes low RH which IMO slows down early vegative growth.
Starting to pick up now in week 6.
Raised EC level gradually to 0.6 and dropped PH to 5.5 to lower soil PH.
New growth after topping is finally starting to come along.
Start of week 3 today 25/11
#2 pheno smells bloody good so far.
Took a little longer to come round from being topped than i prefer.
So far so good 👍
Probably put them into 12ltr pots in a few days then another week until flower hopefully.
1.17 VPD average this week,
Had a few problems this week, underfeeding by the looks of it and also a lack of Magnesium
Slowed their growth down 👎 upped them to 1.0ec and added 0.5ml per litre of Canna's calcium Magnesium
They had me woried, never had to feed this high in Veg 🤷♂️
Noticeable growth every day now
I flushed them with PH water at the end of week 4 then gave them 1.1ec (from 0.8)
Added calmag at 0.5ml per litre
Last day of week 5, gave them a flush before flower, plan to hit them with 1.4ec ready for flower
They have had 5 week veg in total, i went from 3ltr pots into 12ltr at 3 week.
Temps have been around 25°C lights on
Lights off average is around 18 but somtimes dropping to 12 for an hour.
Pretty happy with the size now so hopefully positives from here on out 😁
Day 3, still at 1.3 ec, raised PH going in to 6.2 as i seem to still be getting Cal deficiency so hopefully 6.2 will be a better range for uptake of Cal.
Start of week 2 i flower.
These aren't far off double the size they where at the start of flower, growing quite copact, smell pretty sweet 😊
Happy days
Night temps ar a little low, dipping just below 12°C for an hour or so, they seem fine though.
Also im adding 1ml per 10ltr of PK 13 14.
I will up this around week 4,5 & 6
Day 9, had to remove the glass from the air cooled hood, in hope of lowering humidity and raising temperature.
Seems to be working so far, bloody cold
End of week 2 of flower, no complaints so happy days 😀
Upping the PH from 5.8-6.1/6.2 solved my calcium deficiency, perked right up 👍
Will be upping the PK 13 14 to 1.5ml to a 10ltr Mix for week 3
Start of week 3 of flower (day 15)
I will strip the lower 20-30% of the foliage in the next few days as these are getting really bushy now.
Day 17: defoliated around 25% from the bottom and removed a few from higher up which where blocking flower growth.
Day 19: Finally got a picture just as the light where going out.
Upped the PK 13 14 to 1.5ml per 10ltr
Uppes the total EC to 1.5
Still using rizotonic to up the PH from 5.8 to 6.1
Managed to get the night temps under control by adding another heater.
Start of week 4 and the girls are bloody thirsty!
Average lights on temp - 27°C
Average lights on humidity- 55%
Average lights of temp 20°C
Average lights off humidity 50%
Ph - 6.0
Week 4 ec will be 1.6
PK 13/14 upped to 1.5ml - 10ltr
Smelling sweet 🤯
Start of week 5 and all is good.
Kinda wish i had defoliated a 10% more but I'll pick off leafs if they cover flowers.
Ec of 1.5 - 1.6
Ph of 6.0
Drinking 2.5 litres per day with 10% runoff
Night temp and humidity 20°c 50% humidity
Added a little blow fan heater mid last week, costing a bit but has made my temps and humidity perfect.
Aptus Regulator, you get what you pay for I suppose, i can honestly say I have noticed they have grown really big and structurally strong, i feel i could push them harder whilst using regulator. I will run one plant without it next time with it being so expensive I want Just to make sure im not wasting money.
Day 35, mid week:
Sticking to 1.5ec, 6.0 PH as the girls are looking happy and aren't showing signs of bad health or lacking anything.
So tempted to strip them again but with this being the 1st time i have ran them I don't want to oush my luck.
Start of week 6 today.
I have been giving them pk 13 14 @ 1.5ml per 10ltrs from day 1 of flower, just realised this isn't stated in the diary.
I have upped the pk13 14 up to 2ml and on week 7 I will hit them harder with the PK.
Summary:
All is looking good, I've had the VPD at 1.4 but today humidity is all over the show.
These girls are real bushy, ive decided I probably wont run the mother again due to this. I've been stripping the smallest girl regularly too see how she reacts and also to see if she slows down.
Smell is pretty discreet, they smell sweet but nothing overpowering.
Day 40: we're now approaching week 7, girls are fattening up really nicely.
Growth with this strain is really impressive, I'm noticing changes every day, stems are very sturdy and tight, im putting this down to using Aptus Regulator. This strain would do realy will scrogged and LST'd 👌
Start of week 7 today.
Brought the mix EC down to 1.4 and upped the PK for week 7.
All good 👍
* EDIT
Re-uploaded some pics as the last one's wouldn't load.
Lowered A&B, Upped the PK to 5ml/20ltr.
Dropped the Aptus regulator and ill also drop the PK to 0 next week.
So far so good. Who said you couldn't grow nice fruit in an attic?
Start of week 8 today and all is good.
Maturing really quickly and all of a sudden.
Smell really sweet.
Lowering nute strength from today ready for water next week.
Half way through week 8 now, lowered ec down to 0.6 and now on water.
Looking like a 70 dayer
Start of week 9 today.
They have been on water @ PH 6.0 for 5 days so far (i have ran 6.0 all the way through flower as this seems to give me far less problems).
Lowered day time temps to 22°c and night temps to 12°c to try and pull some colours.
Not sure she will be a 9 week finisher, maybe 10 🤷♂️ only triches will tell. Magnifying glass at the ready.
She definitely smells now, as soon as i open the tent she's stinking, hopefully i will be able to dry them well and retain their sweet smell.
@Bdawg,easy mate.. i have another diary that i finished but only in a 2ltr pot as a test run.
This is a different phenotype from the same pack.
I topped at the 3rd node, topped and the 3rd after that and have been pinching here and there to try and get an even canopy.
Both have been really nice plants to grown, i also have a friend who is finishing up with a clone of mine and are pretty much done at 8 week.
Happy growing mate
