Very pleasant Sweet, Cereal smell. Lots of very sticky trichomes. Smooth taste. Using for day time smoke, prolonged use may cause drowsiness in new users if grown to high potency. I have insomnia and high tolerance so no major ill effects from all day use. Plant grew like a weed, expect heights upto 6 feet tall or more without training. Overall strain grew as expected with high nutrient requirements. I put it as "Hard to Grow" simply because it has high requirements and many growers may find it tricky to figure out exactly what the plant needs. A big help was regular addition of Epsom Salt in my water. This prevented all major yellowing. Once you have a handle on what it needs it just grows and grows. An experienced grower could expect to get 200-300+ grams from one plant.

Reviews. Nutrient
No Opinion. Not enough use to say good or bad.

Reviews. Tent
I love the tent due to how the intake/exhaust holes are done. No tent on the market can compete in this aspect of design. Has proper true no light leak holes when using the optional filter baffles. Could be thicker, poor availability in Canada, new versions unavailable in Canada. Can get expensive with all the accessories and additional baffles/flanges.

This Gelato grew very aggressively, I attempted at least 2 major bends to break dominance that did help slow growth of the main Cola but it still wanted to stretch. Finishing at 39 inches tall with aggressive training I suspect it could have easily been over 6 feet tall if left to grow on its own. It had high nutrient requirements including adding healthy amounts of Epsom Salt regularly to my PH'd water which prevented yellowing. This strain was almost impossible to over feed. Near the end my run off PPM was over 5000 and the plant showed NO major signs of nutrient burn. Comparatively the Do-Si-Dos reacted very negatively and pretty much stopped growing after the nute burn and heat/light stress. I DID find 2 tiny "bananas" (hermie seeds?) from what my eye could see. It was one of the first buds I trimmed and I never found anymore after that. The last 3 weeks very overly stressful for the plants and I am surprised how well the Gelato handled it. I would suggest heavy LST/ HST / Scrog. Topping optional if you can break dominance. Do not veg much longer than 3-4 weeks if you have a small space. A single plant would work well for my 3x3 tent with good training I had a significant amount of stretch which needs to be accounted for in early flower. I would consider using a 3 Gal pot next time. I had lots of even root growth throughout but it was certainly more soil that root. This could have been from my damaging the roots or not having enough healthy biology in the soil not sure. The Gelato did very well in regards to heat and light stress. Only suffering some minor damage from lights being to close. Recovery was overall very quick and no long term problems after removing the leaves that had yellow and adjusting lights. The smell while growing was a Sweet, Cereal, Cream smell. Very pleasant for me. That smell has mostly stayed while mellowing slightly near the end of the grow. I grew this to press into Rosin and so far it is working very well even on a Hair Straightener. I suspect the returns and texture will improve over the next few weeks of pressing. Overall I am very happy with this strain as an amateur grower and I would definitely try to grow it again trying to increase yield and quality.
