All 4 seeds successfully germinated and popped into little seedlings at about 2.5 cm tall. This was after transplanting the germinated seeds directly into soil about a fingernail length deep. In 2 days the ladies were showing signs of pushing soil out of the way. Will post more pictures as the week progresses.

Week 2 plans are to water when dry between 6.2-6.6 PH, as nutrients are organic slow release. Plan is to also keep light height around 36" to allow some plant stretching. Environment 50-55 RH, temps around 23C. Making sure to water bottom of fabric pots to encourage lower soil to be moist for root development. Update pictures as week goes along, ladies seem happy so far.

Going into week 3 of vegetation. At this stage things are simple and easy. Watering when dry at a PH between 6.3-6.7, keeping an eye on humidity and temperature. Watering bottom of fabric pots so soil stays moist throughout fabric pot for roots. Add pictures as week progresses. If they stretch a bit more this week, plan is to LST by mid to end of week.

This week focused on low stress training the ladies. The Lowryder genetics seem to have it growing short, so trying to LST as much as possible. Things are green and healthy so far, environment seems dialed in. Next steps are watching humidity and air flow, while continuing the LST. Update pictures as week progresses. Was a bit delayed this week du to Christmas and renovations. Plant height is measured from base to tip, even though most are bent over for LST.

This week the plan will be to continue LST by tying down new shoots to encourage new flower sites. I am starting to see some hairs so I am going to call this week 1 of flower. I had hoped for a bit more of a pre-flower stretch on the girls, but hopefully they get a little taller during the flower stretch. At the same time, with continued LST, hoping to increase bud sites and increase overall light penetration. Keeping an eye on the water PH level as mine switches a bit in the winter vs. the summer time. Same system of watering thoroughly when dry, also adding water to the bottom of the fabric pots to be soaked up, to encourage lower soil moisture for root stretching. The Low Ryder genetics in the AK74 seems to be keeping to squat. Hopefully some of the AK47 bud structure comes through in some of these phenotypes. I've taken out measuring the plant height, as it is slightly hard to accurately describe that with the constant LST. I've also highlighted HST as a grow technique, but this is mostly just some simple Super Cropping on some of the bud sites that are a bit more awkward to tie down with soft ties. At the end of this week or early next week I plan to amend the top soil with some more Gaia Green Power Bloom, as the nutrients used during initial planting will be starting to be used up and we are entering flowering phase with more need for the bloom nutrients. I will likely also add a little bit of the 4-4-4 All Purpose as well, in case the plants still have a bit of nitrogen requirements for vegetation. Otherwise, things are green and things are looking healthy to date. I have some moisture gnats, but not enough for it to be a pain. I will be adding an additional dehumidifier into the environment as we progress into flowering, to make sure to discourage mold or mildew from forming. Additional fans are being added as well for better air flow.

This week will be mostly keeping an eye on tying down new shoots as we progress into early flower and things are still able to be bent. Also as we are going into a total of week 6 from seed, I am amending the top soil with 3 tablespoons per pot (7 gal) of the 2-8-4, for the flowering stage. Also adding 1 tablespoon of the 4-4-4 all purpose per pot. I originally messed up my measurements of nutrients. So the original medium had 6 tablespoons of 4-4-4 all purpose for a 7 gal pot with 1 tablespoon of 2-8-4 bloom. I have corrected those this week as well. As I continue through the week I will be keeping an eye on the environment, keeping humidity lower and watering top soil to keep moist. Also some light defoliation where necessary to increase light penetration while I continue to LST. So far things still seem healthy, aiming water to be with a PH of between 6.2-6.6 and dechlorinating for 24 hours. Strain is sitting lower and bushy, but quite a few bud sites.

This week was easy, just keeping an eye on the environment and low stress and high stress (supercropping) methods. Top soil was amended last week to keep the slow release organic nutrients for bloom going. The genetics are keeping it low profile, but I am able to spread it out with it's flower stretch. Have some decent top sites forming. Removing fan leaves from prime bud sites, otherwise defoliation is pretty low. Tucking fan leaves and other leaves as much as possible without removal as well. Ladies have been drinking water daily and seem to be quite healthy and green. Will be interesting to see the bud formation as it grows. I am curious with the Lowryder genetics seeming to be in stature, wondering if buds will be more Lowryder or AK-47 looking. Genetics seem resilient and quite happy with warmer and dryer environment. This week focusing on training more to get canopy how I want for final flower form. Defoliation as necessary, and keeping an eye on the environment. Things have been smooth and easy so far. The light measurements are using my phone, in a case, with LED lighting, so highly likely the readings aren't very accurate. But gives me an idea where my zones are for hitting most intensity where I need.

Things are still looking healthy and green. Seems either good resilient genetics or I have the environment where they like it. Hardly any gnats and no mildew or issues so far. One of the phenotypes is stretching quite a bit more than the others. Quite a few bud sites are now showing. Continuing to low stress train where I can and super cropping. Doing a bit of defoliation where leaves are covering other bud sites. Also removing leaves near the soil bed. Continuing to water when they are thirsty and focusing on keeping the lower medium moist. Constant fan air flow with ventilation and dehumidifier at 40%. Things have been easy so far, but they are definitely shorter auto flowers. 1 out of the 4 seems to exhibit a bit more of the AK47 heritage by stretching more. But this doesn't seem a constant in the strain. The tallest one I forgot to mention, was accidently topped early by my heavy hand dropping a tool on it. Not sure if this could lend to it being more taller or if it's strictly genetics. Focusing on same things this week and making sure the environment is dialed in. Will add more photos as week progresses.

This week I can see the buds fattening up on 3 of the plants. The taller phenotype has smaller bud progress, which may have lead to taller structure. Perhaps the accidental topping stressed it and didn't go into flower as early, not sure. Could just be the genetics too, but it has a lot of tall bud sites and more of a Sativa look to it. Watering when dry to a proper PH. Soil still has lots of nutrients. Making sure humidity is low for no mildew and making sure air is flowing. So far still quite easy. These plants are the least finicky plants I've grown in a long time. Hoping the more squat plants have big buds but we will see how it goes. Keeping the LST on the plant during its flowering and bending a bit if I can for more light exposure. Super cropping if necessary and defoliation of lower growth and leaves covering prime bud sites. Trying to encourage as much light to go to lower squat females.

Once again this week will be focusing on watering and keeping environment dialed in. Plants have some burnt tips from abit of nutrient burn, even though the fertilizer is slow release. Could have added to early into stage of growth. One of the three is really weird. It's buds are very small and there are a lot of them. Significantly taller than the other three as well. Not sure if it's genetics, or perhaps I messed up training it. Either way, doesn't seem very hopeful in terms of bud size. The other 3 are thickening up and are sticky as hell. The trichomes are coming in hard and the buds are getting weight. The smell is incredible, kind of a sweet sativa like aroma to them. Hopefully this week we will see more growth in bud on all plants.

Week was easy, just watering when dry and keeping the top medium a bit damp as it's dry during winter here. One of the 3 phenotypes is extremely strange. It's tall and slinky with very tiny bud structure. It smells extremely good though, almost like grape and blueberry. I don't have high hopes for it's buds, but it'll make good for cooking. The other 3 are doing good. 2 of them seem to be going hard into bud structure and really enjoy the watering. The other one has weird leaves, almost like they are bending up slightly. Not sure if it has some disease or if it's just a weird phenotype as well. They all have same environment, same watering, and same nutrients. All 4 seeds were in same package. It could be partly how I did training or maybe my environment is preferable to some phenotypes. Either way I've got to see some interesting genetics in these AK-74's. I have another package of 4 but not sure I will grow again yet. Plan is to keep watching and watering when needed. Things have been easy and the plants seem pretty resilient to molds and disease. I may grow the other 4 outside in the summer and see how it goes.

So this last week the 3 phenos have really grown in bud size. 1 of the 3 that exhibit similar genetics has some taco leaves going on. Might be too dry in my tent as my house is really dry and having a hard time keeping humidity up. Need to invest in a better humidifier, but most of my grow is done on a budget to see what is possible. The one tall stringy plant is weird, but smells fantastic. It's like a grape, blueberry smell. The sugar leaves are turning purple a bit as well. Not sure if this is just a genetic variation you can get, or if perhaps I didn't do a great growing job. Could be the environment, or perhaps the PH of the medium is off. Water is PH to 6.3-6.8 usually but winter can change water hardness here a bit. The other 3 seem to be doing great. The buds are good size with some nice hairs. The leaves are starting to fade a bit and I can see the pistils are turning more amber to brown. Trichomes are still clear in most areas with a little bit of cloudy. Smell great, like a very sativa like smell. Each one is slightly different scent. The tall stringy one is the exception with it's smell. This is the last week of flower on the label, but I will likely push them a few more and see what happens. I find with LED lights it can take longer than outdoor or better lights. Because the fertilizer is organic slow release, I won't need to flush. They will use up what is left in the medium as they begin to fade. I will likely still give them a good water near the end to flush a bit and likely 2-3 days of complete dark before harvest. I've done ice water shock at the end before and find it can bring out a lot of trichomes. None the less, things have been easy and I've really enjoyed how resilient the plants are. As I have another pack of 4 I may try my hand at it again next grow. Plan this week is to keep an eye on colors and trichomes, along with proper watering and environment management.

We are officially past the week of harvest on the label. 8 weeks total it says for flower, but usually I push it past the label, keeping an eye on trichome development. We have some nice fading coming through on the leaves as they finish nutrients in the medium. Seems the feeding at around week 6 was good timing for them to use it all up. The bud characteristics look similar to what I've seen on people's Purple Kush grows from Oasis Genetics. You get this kind of popcorn style bud development. The buds are definitely frosty and have mostly opaque trichomes now. Some plants are finishing faster than others. Overall the results thus far indicate an easy strain to grow, decent bud sites, kind of weird phenotype variation, and popcorn style nugs. It'll likely be one of those runs where I use all for cooking for pressing. Plan this week is to water, and keep an eye on the plants for signs of harvest. When I start seeing a few amber trichomes all over, I'll place in darkness for 72 hours. The smell is getting incredible, the delivery guys are smelling it at the door!

Sorry it took me so long to update, had a lot of personal issues. The harvest went well, it was a little trickier to get humidity up so I had to use jars a bit more than usual for drying. Weed is currently curing, we got little over 240 grams of dried product from 4 plants. The bud structure is not what I personally like. Very sativa stringy kind of popcorn bud style. This could be how I grew it as well, I won't rule that out. Plants were easy to grow and really resilient from what I experienced. I still have another 4 pack of these, so may try again to confirm that the strain is not what I would like to keep growing as a pheno. Haven't smoked any yet, as it's still curing. Smells very piney and yet some smell fruity. I will update a smoke report once I can.
