Now at half strength nutrients. Gave some cal mag for the first time. Had issues with it in my previous grow so I made sure I had some on hand. A fair amount of growth this week. I will be doing some lst later this week but am debating whether I should top or not. I think I will just use lst this round and maybe test next round with 2 plants. Top one and not the other to see the results. Also I set up a wicking watering system so the plant (yet to be named) can take water as needed. I also did this on my last spacebucket grow and it worked very well. It certainly helps with the fungus gnat issue as the upper layer of promix hp is never wet. Never saw a gnat. I'll take that as a win.
Is it worth topping auto's? If I were to top, I was planning after the 4th node which is coming in now. Can anyone add some personal experiences? I curious if it has been worth it.
Lost a branch while doing some lst this week. Grrr. So, I am now trying to fill the vacant space with the top cola site. Bending it back in a C shape. Lots of growth this week. The roots are sprouting out the bottom of the fabric pot all around. Started some big bud this week to gradually increase each feeding of 3 liter increments. Currently Vanessa is consuming 3 liters every 3.5 days. She like her nutrients as well. I wasn't planning on going over half strength this grow but she is doing well at 75%. I hope she stays on course and I do not screw up any more.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone is safe over the holidays. Lots of growth this past week with one huge problem. Pretty sure my cat got to Vanessa and broke off her main cola. My cat gets jealous if I spend time with anyone but him. Needless to say it was a big disappointment. The final yield will be affected so I decided to sprout a random autoflower in a solo cup. Just sprouted today. I was quite surprised to see Vanessa grow so much with the extra stress. I tried to save the cola with tape but it was completely broken hanging by a thread. Not sure how it is possible but I have called it a loss at this point in time. I am looking for some decent deals on boxing day for a 100 to 150 watt actual led to help with the yield. The 150 watt (60 -65 watt actual) Ufo light I am currently using served well while using a spacebucket. Justp need more light now
Coming along nicely considering the setbacks. I'm getting excited and impatient waiting for my new light. At this rate I may finish with my little ufo led.
Finally my spider farmer sf 1000 arrived. Set it right away. Honestly I don't think I would want any more light for the space I have to use. I have been dealing with a calcium deficiency this week. So I flushed down to 200 ppm and gave a half nutrient feeding. Hoping for the best but since it is nearing the end it is not too much of an issue.
The calcium deficiency is going strong. She is taking up less water and all of the tricomes are cloudy. The end is near. Pretty sure there is some light burn as well. Either way I have learned a lot this grow. I wish I could make the scent of her as a cologne. She smells like citrus, mango and skunk. I love it! I will flush her again this week and using flawless finish. Hopefully next week she will be ready to come down.
I am just learning so I am sure the outcome has something to do with my lack of experience. It had fantastic trichome development, and the potency is there only issue was that the buds were very airy. I am going to give this strain another shot once I have more experience as I am sure I can do better.
