Used the wet paper towel method on 3 seeds starting 19th mar, by 24th all seedling had sprouted and I placed in biobizz all mix in cardboard biodegradable seed pots, this photo was from Monday when only 2 had popped, I had a gentle rake in the soil and found the 3rd a bit deeper than preferred and now it too has popped above the soil. I'm starting indoors under led grow light but will be moving to a very private greenhouse c. 30 days (or as advised). I'll be using biobiz fish mix, bloom and topgrow as required starting after 5 leaves or so are evident. Used street bought product with amazing effectiveness on my anxiety so decided to grow my own.

Things going ok so far, will start to feed them tomorrow (only water so far) in accordance with biobizz schedule I've copied to my grow schedule. Swapped to 24 hour light last week also.

I'm keen to give my seedlings the best start in life so have given them 24hr LED grow lights, however I also want them in the greenhouse under natural light. Q) at what point is best to transfer them to the greenhouse?

Not sure about the 24/24 light on : roots require darkness to fully develop. 20H of light and 4H of darkness will probably give you better results than 24H of light. I would try to synchronize the light with the sun and transfer them into the greenhouse once the roots are visible from below and the plants have been repotted in bigger containers. Good luck with these babies !

Week 4 all is well, been reading up on techniques to optimise yield. Some say don't top/fim or low stress train LST Autos, others say do! I've three seedling of mixed progress so next week the strongest plant I'm going to top/remove the uppermost bud, the second strongest I'll commence LST to flatten her out allowing light to all buds on the stem. Excellent article on growweedeasy.com on autos in the subject. The smallest I'll leave alone. All plants subject to healthy progress will be defoliated towards the base and middle as time progresses/is right. That's is if the general consensus agrees...

So last week I fim ed my strongest plant, this week all moved outdoors with my tomatoes. I'll train to open foliage when I can. Any advice on when to defoliate and how?

this week they're in the greenhouse, the leaves of the plants are different like they different strains? Max min thermometer is saying temp fluctuates from 5 deg to 40! Will try and use the tomatoe frame to open up the foliage to permit light penetration. The one that was fim'ed looks to be going good so far.

All seams well, started watering less now I'm getting a feel for it, my max min temp ranges from 5-50 deg C!!! Some lightening of some leaf tips? Is that nute burn? Enjoying it!

Fooked up a bit, let them dry out and overheat, didn't feed for 4 days and greenhouse window fell shut so far baked, I think nute burn may have been burned leaves. I'll paint back wall of greenhouse next year as it's like an oven. Also got thermostat opener at the weekend. Will they ok? Flowers look fine 🤔 Edit, I’ve now removed, as a forum suggested, those leaves that were 70% dead, lets see how that changes things.

It's not going well! Greenhouse may have been getting too hot 50 deg C, insects are eating my leaves, a spider was weaving webs over the buds which they really didn't like. I've fitted an auto open window opener now. Next year I'm going to silicone seal every nook and cranny in effort to keep beasties out (apart from those that can fly in the open window). All the leaves keep turning white 😞. On a positive note the tomatoes are really doing well.

Help, my leaves are dieing, I think I may have been overwatering. Is this a symptom. Spiders and slugs are a problem too any tips? I laid back on watering and new growth has appeared, it’s a fine line though before they dry out in the 50 deg peak temp.

Hi there! You may have overwatered your plants, but they're also showing other symptoms, I think you overfed and gave too much nutrients in the past weeks. Now, about your slugs&snails attacks, the best way to ensure they won't be a problem is to secure your plant with a physical barrier, I've managed to build some great protections with plastic bottles (on babies), or in late stages with tarpaulin around stakes. Otherwise you can catch them by creating simple traps, they're attracted by orange rinds, milk and beer, so you just have to fill a yogurt pot with beer and wait for them to drown themselves into beer paradise. I'll be around, keep us up-to-date, and happy growing!

Things looking better since reducing feed, shells in place for slugs. I think yield won't be the best but time will tell

Well I missed last week but this scorching weather isn’t helping, I think they’ve been baked, all leaves dead or dieing some sugar leaves still remain, thc clear some a little cloudy. I’m inclined to cut them down and see what I have after trim and drying. What you think?
