This week I had to fight off fungus gnats big time. One of the fixes is Diatomaceous Earth and usually with top watering it presents an issue but with bottom feeding I can leave it and not worry about watering. It did get damp because the autopot does wick up moisture but it is still effective while slightly damp. It is preventing the gnats from making a home in my topsoil.
I like them. They take a little getting used to when you're used to moving pots around a lot. Did that a little too much in the beginning and caused a few valves to jimmy loose and flood over. Best to keep them in one place as much as possible. I leave the valve covers on to prevent algae and such.
Hey nice plants buddy.
How long have you been using auto pots? I just got over two months with my setup and got a flood problem
Just wondering if could be the Megacrop building up in the hoses. How are you doing your maintenance if you mind me asking?
It is the Mega Crop clogging actually! We discovered this to be the case later on. Prior to that was us moving the pots around too much. We have two 12.9 gal reservoirs so we're going to swap them out occasionally to keep the build up down.
@NugLife420, I used to think they were way too expensive (like several hundred) but they're actually decently priced. I bought one set of 4 with air domes for $196 (from wegrowbuds.co) where it was $260 directly from AutoPot. Sure beats watering. :)
Hey man great grow. What was your opinion on the autopot system? I was going to set mine up but like the idea of NFT too so not sure which I want to do. Did you use the air dome too?
@Sweetspot88, Still running them now, going up to 9 of them. I like them a lot but I'm still dialing them in. I'm still used to growing in fabric pots and we still produce big plants in those too but we're sticking with autopots. We do use air domes in every pot.
