Hi. First week for this micro grow diary.
The goal here is to see how much can I get with the minimum of Watts, minimum of space, minimum of maintenance, minimum of products with my Protobox .
I choose for this set up an Autoflow compact and RQS nutriments (Easy Boost).
The seed had germinated very quickly. It's growing in its final pot. No transplanting. Soil already mixed with 9 g of Easy Boost for 3,2 L Pot
It's growing slow but well. One small bug is there. I will spread neem oil+ soft soap if it's still needed in a few day. For the moment I just killed it with my finger lol.
Sign of a very slight intervening chlorosis, possibly due to an excess of Phosphorus? (nutriments RQS already mixed in soil). I did a "slight flush" with distilled water and molasses. The next morning I spray aloe vera. It seems so respond well the next days.
I also spray a bit of neem oil and soft soap to prevent any other bug to appear.
Everything so far is going well. This lady is very tiny. I would say she's is not growing slow but she is growing short. Due to the small pot I guess and that's the direction I was going for. No long and stretchy stems during the growing phase.
I spray again some neem oil and soft soap. It's been a week without any bugs. Pretty happy about that too.
First day of week 5. I'm surprised, at the moment there are no pistils yet. But so far, the growth keeps going well except ....the very bottom leaves: dry, crunchy, color fading... I'll keep researching and keep update it.
At day 32, still any pistils. Besides during the photoshoot one light fell over the plant 😰😰. It broke 2 leaves and one new branch on the side. I'm a bit mad. I was trying to avoid any manipulations, but now the plant is unbalanced. I had to remove the broken parts and defoliation.
Going slow but going well. I think I might have a slight deficit in N and K. I am a bit bewildered about Easy Boost....So I fed them with Biobizz last night. It seems to respond very well.
And yeah finally those pistils are starting to appear
Not much to say. I continued to feed with BioBizz as I saw slight deficiencies. I didn't want to add extra nutrients but Easy Boost doesn't seem to be enough for my plant.
Well ... there are two things I might need help with 😕.
First of all, it loses its shine and green. I think it's an N deficit, but even feeding her FishMix it doesn't seem like enough. I lose a leaf at the bottom every 3-4 days.
Second, I'm confused about the flowering stage and stretching I’ve done a basic graph about the size . How should I define them ?(the pistils appeared day 35)…If someone could explain me, I’d appreciate a lot. Thanks ;)
Nice to watch this lady in her flowering stage. Not much of course but so far it's going well. I will show the deficiencies on the whole plant next week. I don't think we can see it well in the photos, but in a few places there are very revealing spots. Obviously the size of the pot matters but I don't think I chose the best fertilizers for this grow.
Everything is going pretty well. As I though I was approaching the harvest (looking at the trichomes and the numbers of week) I slow down nutriments....it was a big mistake ! I'll show you the horrible effects on the plant next week.
And last week I've already noticed some underfeed signs , here are the pictures as promised ( and it's going much more worst next week).
So here we are for this 13th week. The beauty...and the beast 😅.
By the way, even on the 360° due to the video compression you can't really see the horror, so I've put you some pictures from my cell phone (bad quality though) but you can't missed it .😏
Those colors 😍😍. There is some deep golden brown with tint of purple on top, very beautiful. I try a .📸 close up next week. Weirdly some new pistils are showing up (clearly visible on both pictures lol) and trichomes are still not brown
So there we are : Harvest time !! (Part1)🙌🤩
I'm very happy with the way she looks. That lady is gorgeous. I really didn’t expect to see this deep red-purple tones for a Jack Auto….those surprises are priceless lol.
For this raw micro-grow , I’m happy with the coming harvest. I did many mistakes like I broke a branch and because I didn’t know really about RQS nutriment, I was scared to over feed it all along the diary.
I’ve used Biobizz Pack Outdoor to complete the nutriments from week 5-6 but always using less than the recommandations.
My point : I read a lot of stuff about Autos on internet. Like they only need half nutriments. I kind of disagree on that. Looking at my plant, I have to say it looks very beautiful and I didn’t loose a lot of leaves since the start, but I do have sign of deficiencies everywhere !! About the flowering stage ,same , I think I could have go to the full nutriment schedule with Biobizz and got much more.
For Pros, about light. On internet it says (pretty much everywhere) :
Ideal PPFD for VEG: 400 to 600 umol/s/m2 and
Ideal PPDF for FLOWER : from 600 to 900 PPFD umol/s/m2
Here I’m just with 30W around 490 umol/s/m2 at the top of the plant and going down to 200 umol/s/m2 at some low parts. So very under the recommandations. But I still got to the full cycle. Of course there is a very BIG inconvenient : It takes way more time than normal !
Today at the top of branches I got all buds with a nice 20 % of brown trichomes. So it was time to cut that.😄 . I got 46 g (wet) for the moment.
But under the mains buds there was a whole other situation. News pistils , flower still in the process of maturation ,clear trichomes … So I'm leaving it for the moment. It looks like a mini version of the already mini version. lol 😂. I’m going to give it an other 2 to 3 weeks I think. But damn I’m going to 18 weeks .
I’ll update all the missing infos as soon as I can with the coming harvest .(part 2)
Thanks for all the comments and the support !!!
Contrary at C***(an other website), people here were very cheerful and nice.
It was a pleasure to share this little experiment on this website. Thanks to everyone.😀
EDIT : Final dry weight is 25.8g. I'm pleasantly surprised ;)
About the effect, the first harvest with 20% of brown trichomes is more "heavy stuff" , makes you a bit (too) relaxed for day time. The rest was perfect. So next time I won't wait that long and just harvest when trichomes are whites.
