Hello again partners from green town 😄
🌐This week was kinda strange but also showed me one can love and take extra care of a plant like a small baby. As you can see my plant was very small with a few leaves at the beginning of the week. I didn't even notice that it grew so much because I was checking on it multiple times a day. Just now as I was uploading I was looking for the pics and I thought they were from the germination stage diary update but I looked at the date. 🤯🤯🤯
▶️At the beginning of the week the lights were 60 cm/2 feet from the canopy. I watered the plants 3 days later as indicated on my Grow Caps package (you only water once a week cuz the grow caps store the water and release it slowly with nutrients). But the day after I watered I noticed there were small flies (I researched and they are called fungus gnats), apparently they like warm and wet conditions.🔥🌊
✴️I read an article on the Royal Queen Seeds website (they have a very helpful blog there) and they said to water the plants with 4 parts water and 1 part hydrogen peroxide. I put 200 ml water and 50 ml hydrogen peroxide (3%, 10 volume) that I got from the pharmacy (make sure it's not strong, mine was already mixed with water in the bottle but I still put it in water to get better coverage), this is safe for the plants but it kills the larvae and for the bigger flies you can get sticky yellow tape or something against mosquitoes. The next day the flies was already on the tape and haven't seen any since then so problem solved. 🧐
🔶The 22nd of December was the last day of the first week of vegetative stage, the plant has grown so much from the first day and I can't be any happier. Maybe it isn't the healthiest plant ever but for a first grow I'm more than satisfied and proud of myself. I thought it would die the first week of it's life 😂😂😂 I also lowered the lights to 40 cm / 1 foot 3,7 inches. I tried lowering it to 30 cm/1 foot but it was a little too warm when I put my hand probably because it was a new light. 💡📦
🌴That's my first week of Vegetative Stage. I have learned some new things this week, got some new experience and we'll see how the next week goes.🌴
Thanks for stopping by and growing along with me. Toodles x 💚💚💚
@Smokwiri, thank you and I appreciate you for stopping by and showing me support 💚 just so you know this comment gave me a smile on my face so thank you again ❤️
HI! Nice setup.
Imo if its warm in your room at night, it's even warmer during the day. Heat could be a problem (not sure where you live or the season?). Run them at night when it's cooler if you can to reduce heat. Once you find the "base line" for your grow tent, it will stay constant. Barring outside humidity or temps rising or dropping. You can look back & check your meters highest/lowest temp & humidity while you were asleep with most cheap meters. Also electricity costs less at night in most countries 😉
What soil are you using? If it's organic, you must use organic nutrients. Also I cant see any perlite in your soil. You really really need plenty of perlite to help with drainage, to improve aeration & stop the soil sticking together & turning into a solid lump. I'd buy perlite ASAP & mix it with soil & transplant those into it before they get too big. If they die (which they wont) it's only a week or two lost.
Hope that helped. If I can answer anything just ask
Good luck
@Kilbarrack, I tried leaving my light on at night, but then in the morning I would notice on the hygrometer that the max temperature was too high and I was sleeping so I couldn't have checked on it often. It's much better now, at least I can check on it, open my balcony window for some cold breeze. I'll try perlite for my next grow, because with the whole setup and everything I spent a lot of money. For nutrients I'm using the All in One Grow Caps, they release nutrients when needed so I can at least focus on learning the basics of growing first. I'm using fabric pots so I think it has lots of air but definitely buying perlite for the next grow. Thank you for all the advice and I'll be sure to write to you if I have any questions or concerns. 💚🌱
Welcome to GD MoonWalker, I'm pretty new as well and I'm only on my second grow myself 😉. Your setup looks great 👍 and nice and clean. I'm gonna follow along with ya because even the way you write sounds a lot like myself 😜. Thnx for following me! I'll give back and follow you. Anything I can learn or help with is why I'm here! My next grow will be Blueberry Auto.
Happy Growing and
Happy Harvesting
@Puffdamagikchillum, I really feel welcomed and motivated here already, so thank you for that, just know I'm here to help or research for you whatever you need. 👽🌱💚
Happy growing and happy smoking 🌬️🔥
looking verrry good as w/b growing same seeds after my Bruce Banner finished up....the joy of growing your own is uplifting when it works like it has for you here....
