This week is didn't do much in the way of training or pruning, but I did transplant my girls into 20 gallon pots. This will be their final home until harvest. Before transplanting I threw in some kelp meal, fish bone meal and mykos. I'll be top dressing with the same and some lobster compost once I flip to flower too. Once the plants were in the 20 gallon pots I tied a couple pieces of jute twine across the pots to help train the plants. Once I flip to flower I'll throw in a real scrog net, but this has been working well with the short plants. I plucked a few leaves a few days after transplanting but only the brown ones and the few that were so low that they weren't getting light. Most were able to be tucked in the twine but if it couldnt, I cut it. I've been doing a foliar spray every morning with blended up rehydrated kelp meal, eggshell concentrate water and molasses. This shit smells pretty bad but my plants seem to enjoy it. I've also started to collect eggs shells when I use them. I rinse them of egg, strain them and let them dry for 2-3 days, then I crumble then up real small and too dress them into my soil. I might start tossing some other dry scraps on top once I learn more about what I can and cant use.
This week I put a tower fan in my tent. This thing is pretty strong so its improved circulation around the plant level alot. I have it shooting at the long wall and I can actually feel it on the opposite corner, which I didnt with my other desk fan. With the tower fan I was able to put the desk fan at light level so it can move that stagnant, hot air around the lights. It's been warm the past week or so and I was having problems keeping temps under 82-83f. Thia brought my RH to around 45% from around 55%. Now with the 2nd fan its staying under 80f and RH is back in the 50+% range. I would still like to get my RH to around 60% but I'm happy with the way things are going. I should be set up to have a good flowering environment. Hopefully by next grow I can get a smaller veg tent set up so it will be easier to keep RH higher. I have a little 120 watt LED in the box waiting to build that veg tent lol. I figure I'm not flipping these girls to flower for another 2-3 weeks so I've still got some time. If I can get this going by then I should be able to get this perpetual grow started...even if it is only 2-4 plants at a time lol. I'm thinking SOG autos or maybe just a fresh run from seed for my 2nd grow. All the choices make me wish I had more space. I'm really interested in trying a little breeding at some point. Maybe if I get some good yields I'll have more than i can smoke in a year or 2. Then I can dedicate my tent to growing some males so I can do some pollen collecting.
@GuerrillaNo_4, yeah I was given some oversized clones so I pretty much started training s couple days after I got them home and transplanted them. I figured if I was gonna mess up and break/kill branches I better learn early on so they have time to recover lol. I wasnt sure how well they would respond but it's nice to hear that it should help in the long run.
