Another week in the books. It's looking like the gals will be ready to start flowering sometime this next week. I think I'm just going to be waiting until next watering so I can hit them with 1 more compost tea.
This week the girls got their first dose of compost tea. My tea was made with with about a quart of banana peel water, a quart of water left over from soaking pinto beans and about a gallon of dechlorinated water. Added to that was some fungal dominate compost (compost with oatmeal powder sprinkled on top and sat for a 4 days in warm, dark spot) and molasses.
I've also continued to train the girls similar to past weeks. Defoliation and supercropping have been my main go-to's. At this point I have been defoliating daily. I'll go in and pluck leaves that just aren't going to get enough light. Every 3 days or so I remove most of the big fan leaves as well. At least 1-2x a week I go in and supercrop the branches that start growing vertically. Up until now I've been trying to force the plants to grow horizontally. My plan is to keep them from growing upward until I'm ready to flip to 12/12. I'm hoping this will help later when the girls stretch and height becomes my limiting factor.
I haven't really done much different this week other than adding the tea. I plan to put together a worm bin this week too. I tried to find some worm casting but had no luck anywhere close to home. So, this grow will be without castings, but next grow I should have some nice castings before harvest time. Ive also been started making some KNF inputs. Those should start being ready to use next week or the following as well. I'll be throwing some banana FFJ and eggshell WCA into the mix. I'm making some LAB as well, and will prolly be adding that into compost teas or maybe even hit my girls with 1 LAB foliar spray. I'm hoping to make some OHN and IMO but those are a little more difficult to find the ingredients where I live. There really isnt any indigenous micro organisms to be collected in a big city. If I get a chance to go somewhere with some forest I'll be collecting some stuff for imo and FFP.
@GuerrillaNo_4, yeah I was given some oversized clones so I pretty much started training s couple days after I got them home and transplanted them. I figured if I was gonna mess up and break/kill branches I better learn early on so they have time to recover lol. I wasnt sure how well they would respond but it's nice to hear that it should help in the long run.
