As I was losing hope with the Dark Devil Auto grow, I decided to soak an Amnesia Auto freebee in a glass of distilled water. In less than 48 hrs., the seed cracked with a half long tap root going. I skipped the paper towel and planted it in a Rapid Rooter (soaked 24hrs in a mix of distilled water, 1/2 tsp of aloe vera powder and 1 tsp of coconut powder).
I then planted the plug in the 50/50 mix of coco and pearlite. Just a side note, I had pre-watered the medium with distilled water and CaliMagic (to run-off). I also warmed it up a little by letting it sit in the tent with the Canna-Cheese grow earlier that day. Two days later she emerged from the top of the Rapid Rooter. I'm going to hit the edges of the Rapid Rooter with some distilled water and 1/8 tsp. of Calimagic--keeping the EC under 200 and PH at 6.2-6.3 until the Coyte-things open up. After that, I'll cover the entire medium with low EC CaliMag water (low one hundreds). When the second node starts coming in I'll start introducing low level nutes to the entire medium.
Amnesia is still getting her legs about her. The seed shell finally fell off. I was so tempted to help out but just like a baby but had to let her do it on her own. Not much to say here, no problems at all so far. After topping "Rokakaka" and not having a problem, I'm pretty sure I'll do the same with "Alinasia".
Sunday: same growth as Canna-Cheese here, I topped and fed. A few days later I plucked a couple of fan leaves so more light can get in. The 2nd light I put in the tent seems to be making a difference with both plants.
I'm glad things are working out with the two grows. I spaced them out about a week a part so my experience I'm gaining from the older plant I can use on the younger. I got my nutrients on point, environment right and even topped the Canna-Cheese and it worked great. I now have more confidence to do the same with the Amnesia.
This time around, I'm going to top at the 4th node (I think I topped the CC at the 5th ). Anyway, I felt like I was a bit late with the first top so I left it alone after that and focused on LST. So glad I did as she's going into flower. Another top might have thrown things off. That in mind, I'm going to top this one earlier so I can get an extra one in if she does the same.
Also going to plan out my LST better. Canna was all over the place but I was able to wrestle her in some. Amnesia's LST will start a little earlier before she gets too many leaves.
Let's see how this all works out. Onward to harvest!
