While filling the buckets the door was open and because it's winter the dry air dropped the humidity so the plants suffered. Tap water was used to feed the clones so that led to nutrient burn as well. They bounced back though. Originally 8 were from mom #1 and 4 from mom #4 but one was not taking so now 5 from mom #4. All have roots well into touching the water now. Pictures Jan 22.
Pictures are before topping. Taken on Jan 30. When changing out the reservoir, I filled it back up too high so the plants began to show signs of overwatering/lack of oxygen. Can be seen by curling and and eventually crisping of lower leaves in following weeks pictures.
The plants are heavy indicas so they are very bushy. After they recovered from topping I super cropped and am now creating a manifold. I am trying to create at flat wide canopy at the top while clearing out excess nodes and leaves below to allow air flow. With soft ties I make a spiral shape then twist it tightly on the stem. This now acts as a brace so that I can bend the plant wherever I want and it will stay in place. I have low ceilings so this also helps control the height. Pictures taken February 6th.
Photos from February 15th. Took out some plants as they were finally showing male preflowers. Last week before flipping to flower. Plants were super bushy.
Pictures from March 1. Took off some of the bigger fan leaves. Dehumidifier is running a lot which makes the room hotter so I tried to removed large fan leaves from the bottom of the canopy or in the dense middle of the plant. This will also help with airflow. Upped the amount of silica to the recommended amount for mature plants. Roots are still slightly reddish because of the hydroton. Room reached mid to high 80s a few times this week but problem solved by removing AC exhaust filter. All plants hermed at the end of this week so they were removed. Only two larger plants in coco survived so this will be the last update for this diary ;(
