Starting this diary about 2 weeks before harvest. There was an extended veg period while waiting on an autoflower to finish - about 10 weeks from seed. This was an old seed as this is my third time growing this strain.
I anticipate a high yield - better than past results. Prior to putting into flower I took four clones. One was a small branch with one node. Another just a leaf. Another with two nodes and another with three nodes. It was an experiment and I will post pictures to this diary of them. Spoiler alert, only two survived. One is doing very well. Since I only grow for personal use and have more than I need for a bit, I am going to try something new for me - which is producing femenized seeds with the clone using colloidal silver to start. I want to grow a new strain, but I also want to grow this strain again in the future so will produce some femenized seeds before moving on.
Hopefully the hermy plant I grow next for seeds won't smell so strong because it is producing seeds. Two separate filters still isn't enough to control the smell.
What I like about this strain is fast finish time, high yields, good high, and big buds. This plant loves to grow. About the only thing I don't like is the strong odor during flower.
I believe that my air exchange, which is through my air filters, is performing worse as time goes on and the filters collect particulates. The weather outside is cold, but we usually have the AC on year round until now. So fighting both the filters and lack of cooler air the AC usually delivers.
In response I disconnected the second light and moved the first light higher so the plant can finish up. This is probably going to be the last week, then I harvest. No more nutrients being added - just water.
I'm not a total believer in the 48 hours of darkness but going to end with that on days 46-48. Currently on day 42 at the time of this entry.
UPDATE - I normally wouldn't do much trimming at this point, but since I already stressed the plant with too much heat today, I added a bit more stress and removed some dying fan leaves and some older leaves to prevent mold and get more light to lower nodes. Hopefully that wasn't a mistake so close to harvest. About to find out.
Entry 1 - Day 45 harvest of a branch with one large cola, 1 medium, and a bunch of average sized buds. 122 grams wet and untrimmed. Big cola is about 170mm x 70mm at thickest spot.
I'm guessing this plant will be about 7-8 ounces dry & trimmed total. If I harvest today. Hopefully it gets fatter over the next two weeks.
After doing some math and estimating, my prediction for total yield trimmed, dried, and cured us 5.27 ounces. Hoping I underestimated.
Day 51: The heat damage is starting to become evident now because of the new mini-colas or buds on buds (with white pistils). I'm looking at older growth to determine harvest time. But as long as I don't see too many ambers I will give these time to finish also. Here is an article explaining this problem: https://www.growweedeasy.com/keep-getting-new-white-pistils
