Finally have my space 90% set up. Growing in a 4x4 out in my shed. Temps outside are very cold, but tent is staying between mid 60's at night and mid 70's during the day.
Humidity is around 45 percent. I know I can probably bump that up a bit, but this will do for now I guess.
Just need to get my air extraction system in place. I have a huge inline fan that is too much fan for my tent. Will be setting this up on a timer so it doesn't run constantly.
End of week 3 picture. Finally got an oscillating fan (20w secret Jardin monkey fan). Girls are looking pretty good I think, growth is starting to take off. Will be introducing nutrients next watering as I figure the amendments in my coco are depled now.
I finally believe I have my extractor fan somewhat optimal. I have a timer set as well as a speed controller. It's on for 1 hour every other hour, and is set at about 25%. This allows my 745 cfm fan to go down to about 190 cfm.
Girls are looking good, tent is filling up. One thing I'm starting to notice is some yellowing and spotting on the older growth on about 2 of my plants. I'm hoping it's not a pH issue, but to find out I will be testing my runoff to see where it's at. What should my runoff be? Around the same as what this medium is buffered to? That would be 6.3 to 6.8. I feed every watering (about every 3 to 4 days) and pH my feed to 6.5. I probably need to calibrate my pH meter to be safe though. I also thought maybe it's a N def as well as Calcium def. I upped my feed stregth a little last feeding, will keep it at the same level for this next feeding.
My plants always seem to do so well in veg, and then start having issues in flower. Maybe this is normal? I'm still a novice grower, and each time my plants get better. Maybe there's just a learning curve in this game.
@Smokwiri, thank you! I believe i've got some N tox from this hot soil, but a couple rounds of pH'd water should do the trick to clear that up I'm thinking.
@Devildog1911,I have the same problem, I have done light defo but nothing to deep you know. I need to start on mine as well. You’ll be good though just take it slow. Good luck!👍👌✌️
@UltraFlatBlack, Thank you! I'm starting to think I need to do some defoliation. But I'm terrible at that. Last time I just let my plants do their thing leaf wise, but looking to improve quality as well as quantity so I probably should focus on that. Should remove lower bud sites as well I guess.
@Chronicbastard, good to know! I ran 1 SS for my first ever plant (2 years ago) and it was TERRIBLE. Obviously not the genetics, but me. Excited to see how these two turn out. I have 2 of these, and 2 Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Bubbly.
I FIM'd 1 SS and 1 NCHxSB. Left the other two alone outside of bending the tops down.
I’m a noob to growing but I know that humidity should be around 70-80 for germinating. 40 RH is for flowering.
I just germinated sour stomper too.
I think you can raise the RH for sure.
Just my 2 cents.
@Chronicbastard, Good to hear! Excited to see what these pull. My dog ate half of my NCH last run, and about a quarter of my Toof Decay (both around week 3) and still wound up with about 4 ounces each plant. Hoping to get more out of these since my dog doesn't have access to them this time lmao.
