Welcome back guys for the start of another grow, Grow # 23 to be exact. For those of you who have been following my diaries you know that I've been working toward a multiple breeders grow, with me already growing strains from FastBuds, Sweet Seeds, and Female Seeds, so this time I decided to go with the strain that gave me my confidence and let me know that I could do this at all, and that strain is Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto. The AK-49 Auto is the Vision Seeds auto-flowering variant of one of the most powerful strains ever. This cross between the AK-49 and Lowryder has resulted in a strong stable auto-flowering strain in which all the desired characteristics of the AK-49 are retained. The AK-49 Auto produces resinous marijuana plants with compact buds full of hair and glistening trichomes. It has a spicy scent bordering on Skunk and a sweet fresh taste and her potency equals that of the AK-49 itself, she has a strong psychoactive impact bringing about a euphoric and very stimulating high, and after several runs with strain, I can truly say The AK-49 Auto is one of the most potent auto-flowering strains currently available on the market and under the right conditions also has the potential to produce drastically higher yields than your average other auto-flowering strain. Now before I get started with the germination process down below will be a list of the equipment I'll be using :
Hydro Planet 2x4x5 Grow Tent
3-Gallon Plastic Pot
Happy Frog Soil
Vivosun 300 watts Full Spectrum Grow Light
Vivosun 4" inch Exhaust Fan
Vivosun Carbon Filter
Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier
4 Desk Fans
Acurite Hygrometer
For the germination process, I went with my usual, of soaking the seed for 48- hrs before placing it in a moist paper towel that is then placed in a black container. I actually had to use a heating mat this time because I felt that the container wasn't staying warm enough. Once the seed had a taproot that was 1-2cm long the seed was placed into the soil.
It really didn't take long for her to pop above the soil within 72- hours of placing her in the soil she was out and looking for the light, but Immediately I could tell there was something different about this one. As she began to grow I notice that she wasn't normal and was actually a "Tri-Leaf". After doing some research I found out that this is a relatively common mutation. These plants grow about 1/3 more side branches than a regular autoflower would. I'm hoping she stays this way because they start this way and then begin to grow normal so we shall see. On Days 1-3 I just lightly misted her a few times with water that had a ph of 6.2, then on Day 4 she received her first official watering when she got 250 ml of water with a ph of 6.2. So far that's all she's had and is doing very well.
Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... "S/O TIME"!!! This week's BIG THANK YOU goes to @JohnnyBlaze who became a new follower of my page. Also to all the many others, it means a lot to me for you to take the time out of your day to show love, it is much appreciated.
Well guys that’s going to be all for this week. So, until next time fellow growers and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Here I am back to give my first update of the year on my Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto and so far so good. I did find out that what I thought was a tri-leaf has now started growing just two leaves at a time, so that was a bummer, however she did grow 3.5" inches over the last 7-days bringing her height to 6" inches tall now. So far this little lady has had only ph balanced water that had a ph of 6.34, she's been needing a watering every 2-3 days, so that's about twice a week.
Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... "S/O TIME"!!! This week's BIG THANK YOU goes to @Elpibe who became a new follower of my page. Since my last update on the Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto, things have really started to take off. Last week she was half a foot tall, this week she kind of took off and grew another 5" inches, making her 11" inches tall. She also got her first feeding this week, this lady received 2ml of Cal-Mag Plus and Micro and 4ml of Bloom we'll see how she responds in a few days. I also did some trimming to the bottom half of the plant, basically, anything that was touching the soil had to go.

It's been a wild and crazy week and my garden suffered from it a bit. I had a family emergency that required me to be away from my garden for 3 days and when I returned, my plants were literally dying of thirst. This one not so much, she had no yellowing just very droopy but once she was fed she perked right up after 3-4 hours. She is still in veg but she did grow 7" inches this week making her 18" inches tall now. I also did some light defoliation to some of the bigger fan leaves that were blocking the bottom of the plant. She also had a slight nutrient increase this week and is now getting 500 ml of water for each feeding and watering.

Week 5 has come and gone and things are still going smoother than ever. Over the course of the last 7-days, this lady has grown another 3" inches bringing her total height to 21" inches tall. Last week I did some light defoliation and it seems like she's become more of a bush since then, I'll more than likely have to do another defoliation later this week. She's truly showing her Indica genetics. She's also been really thirsty lately, I've been needing to water every 1-2 days. On 01/21/2020 she was watered with 500 ml of water that had a ph. of 6.34, then again on 01/24/2020 she was given the same amount that also had a ph of 6.34. On 01/26/2020 she had a feeding and was given 500 ml of water containing 3 ml of Cal-Mag, 3 ml FloraMicro, 6 ml FloraBloom. With the amount of water she is given there is some runoff, which is great, so she doesn't get any salt build-up.

Here to give the Week 6 update on the Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto. As usual, this plant is doing her thing without any issues, that might be why I love growing this strain, well besides the amazing bud she gives at harvest. This week she stacked on another 4" inches making her 25" inches tall now. I also went up slightly on the nutrients also which you can see in the nutrient section of this diary. Other than feeding and watering this week, this lady has been left alone to do her thing.

Back for the Week 7 update on the Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto and this lady is becoming a beast. As you see she is still in veg on Week 7 and is already 29" inches tall ( she grew another 4" inches this week ) and is only showing sex no sign of flower yet. Don't get me wrong this isn't going to be a bad thing, because it means she's going to be a monster once she starts to stretch. I also noticed I'm a couple of days behind on putting up my diaries. Lol. On 02/09 she was given a feeding that had a ph of 6.24, she was also defoliated lightly , on 02/11 she was given a plain watering that had a ph of 6.34. I also moved the last 3 plants that are left in the tent around so they were more comfortable.
Well, ladies and Gent's that's going to be all for this week so until next time fellow growers, and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Back for the Week 8 update on the AK-49 Auto from Vision Seeds and this week things changed a bit but nothing alarming. On 2/19 she was watered ( ph 6.34) and then on 2/22 she was fed ( ph 6.34 ) but prior to feeding her, I noticed she had some yellowing going on not much very light, it could be from the temperature getting about 3 degrees lower than usual at night which could be causing a magnesium deficiency, but she's given cal-mag so that should fix her right on up. I also went ahead and did some more defoliation since she just stays so bushy. On 2/24 she was watered again along with me doing some tent maintenance.
Well, ladies and Gent's that's going to be all for this week so until next time fellow growers, and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Since last week I had time to figure out what was going with this lady. I noticed she was really close to a fan on the bottom of the tent, you add that with really cold night temps and you'll find yourself with a magnesium deficiency. So after finding that out I went ahead a did a flush on her and gave her nothing but ph'd balance water for this week, so far there haven't been any new signs that the problem is still there so I'm hoping that by removing it fixed the problem. I also am finally starting to see signs of flower, so it's more than likely this will be the last week of veg for this lady.

Welcome back guys, we have finally made it to flower, despite the previous issue I haven't had any new signs that it's still there, of course, there were leaves that were damaged so I went ahead and removed them along with doing some defoliation, she looked like a bush so I thought It would be a perfect time. Over the week she grew another 2-inches making her 33.5" inches tall now. Just waiting for her and the gelato to finish up so I can run all 7 of the newly released strains from Fastbuds

Haven't really been attentive to the garden like usual, that's mainly for two reasons one, they're taking too long to finish and two, I've preparing to do a major upgrade to my setup. This has been doing well minus a little fading she has going on, she's also now the only lady left in the tent, I put the Gelato to rest, I just didn't want to deal with her anymore, she's been a problem since day one, but as far as this plant she's been fairly well the whole time.

Since my last update, things have been very stable, which is good since I'm in flower. The plant is starting to show more and more trichomes daily, along with showing some awesome Fall colors, despite her being past her normal harvest time and growing so tall that she's close to the light now, really nothing I can do due to space. On 3/30 the plant was given a watering, which had a ph of 6.2, on 4/3 she was given a feeding that had a ph 6.04. Normally this strain is almost done, but since she was in the vegetative stage for 9-weeks, along with having some issues during Week 9, I don't expect her to be done any time soon. This is the last plant that I'll be growing with this setup, so it's kind of bittersweet, but I'm also super excited to start growing with my new upgraded setup with everything coming in.

Back for the weekly report on the Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto, it's really been a boring week. Lol. She packed a little weight on her buds but gained a crazy amount of trichomes this week. She was given a feeding on 4/10 and a plain watering on 4/13. Other than that I'm just being patient waiting for her to finish up.

It's been another great week for the Vision Seeds AK-49 Auto, as I end Week 14 and enter what most growers like to call the home stretch. The plant has been showing rapid trichome production daily and is giving off a strong but yet sweet smell along with most of the pistils starting to recede back into the buds. On 4/20 it was time to give her a watering so she was given 650 ml of water that had a ph of 6.44, On 4/23 she was given a feeding, that had a ph of 6.14, I also checked the trichomes on this day, there is still quite a mixture of transparent and milky, so I'm going to wait to flush once I'm not seeing any transparent trichomes. This week I also found out that I came in 2nd place in March's Grower of the Month Contest and I also came in 7th place in March's Diary of the Month Contest, so I was pretty stoked about that, I want to say thank you to growdiaries and Fastbuds for another great contest and amazing prize package.

AK-49 brings on the potent cerebral effects that are perfect for numbing any mental aches and pains when they just won't seem to fade. The high starts with a lifted effect that fills your mind with a sense of deep euphoria. As this happiness expands through your mind, it will begin to push away any negative feelings, replacing them with lightly unfocused bliss. As your mind lifts higher and higher, a light relaxing body high will begin to wash over you, leaving you slightly sedated without affecting your mental energy level in the slightest. The bud has a spicy skunky flavor with a rich fruity earthy exhale. The aroma is very pungent and spicy with a skunky overtone that's accented by rotting fruits and herbs.
This plant started growing on 12/21/2020, during her first week she started growing as a "tri-leaf" plant only to start growing like a regular autoflower in week 2. During Week 4 she did suffer from lack of water due to me being away from the garden for a few days but seemed to bounce back within the next week. Around Week 8 I started noticing signs of a magnesium deficiency due to low night temperatures but once this was corrected there were no more signs of the deficiency. She did grow more in height compared to the other times I've run this strain but that was due to her having a 9-Week Vegetative cycle, around Week 10 she started to flower and from this point, it only took about 5-weeks for her to finish up, So on 04/29/2021, she was finally chopped down. I cut the plant at the base and hung the whole plant up to dry inside the tent, under my conditions it took the plant a week to dry and has now been placed in mason jars to start the cure, which has been going on for about 5-days now. I ended up getting 98.2 grams wet which turned into 32.4 grams of dry bud, and as usual, this strain is pure Dank, it never disappoints.
