I'm afraid I didn't start the diary before. Anyways, I was doing some soundwave experiments with the plant and this stunted the plant for 3 weeks in which it didn't grow at all, so this could have affected the development as it didn't develop many branches or leafs but a thick main cola and 3 other colas, 2 of them with acceptable dense buds. All in all, it doesn't seem like it's going to be a big producer but I'm aiming for the effects. Because of the situation above described, it has taken forever to finish, I'm planning to cut on week 13 of flowering.
One of the strangest grows I've had: buds are drying now. Of 8 regular seeds only 1 germinated. Plant was grown in the balcony, seed was sowed in early September. The plant was a slow grower and it took forever to flower being an auto (3 months), keep reading and perhaps you will find out why. The smell is sour mango and tropical fruits, or just fruity pebbles, delicious. Trichomes are very small and mostly on nugs, almost no trichomes on leaves. There are many curious things about this plant: I get pesty white flies that leave my crops alone when flowering but they did not leave this one alone when flowering, also bringing other pests. I quickly notice it was getting full of pests and there was crap/ sooty mould on many leaves due to the crap: poor pest resistance, so I decided to chop it 1 week before the time I had planned. (almost no amber trichomes, perhaps only 5% amber, 85% milky, 10% still transparentish. Had to manicure carefully to remove the sooty mould and crap. Even when drying, whitefly did not want to leave the flowers alone. This tells me that it must be an aphrodisiac. I left behind some popcorn nugs to gain weight, today I cut one and found 2 seeds! So it seems at least 2 seeds or perhaps more on the popcorn buds at the base. Never saw signs of hermaphroditism when growing. Perhaps pest stress? I will actually sow them. Another update: I have found 25 seeds so far! and after multiple conversations with experts it seemed it created nannas at the end as last resource survival, a kind of hermaphroditism that I'm told it is not that bad since the seeds were found at the base and potency might not be affected and they say most likely the seeds will be feminized so I will germinate them in a few months! This trait, I'm told, probably happened due to the stress from the pest invasion and I saw no signs of hermie until I cut it but you can see in the picture where I'm holding the large cola that there's a nanna, not the classic male ball. So as I said, chances are the quality of the final product is not affected. One thing to mention: the buds are almost dry and they smell like Fruit Loops! or sour mango with berries and lavender!
UPDATE: Effects: caused me and my girlfriend paranoia and there was nothing good about it. Probably due to cutting it earlier, but I still don't think this would have been a good strain and it is also a pest magnet. Not recommended!
Total disappointment, one of the strangest grows I've had:
GERMINATION 1/10 - Out of 8 regular seeds only 1 germinated.
EASE OF GROWTH 4/10 - Plant was grown in the balcony, seed was sowed in late August. The plant was a slow grower and it took forever to flower being an auto (3 months) and trichomes just didn't seem to be ready no matter what. At the end of flowering, the plant went through roderalization, perhaps due to stress due to bug infestation, mainly whitefly, so it produced around 50 seeds only on the lowest third of the plant. I had never had such bug infestation, the plant was just a magnet for bugs, and many leaves quickly got covered in sooty mould. I left many popcorn buds after cutting just to get seeds which I did, but the popcorn buds were a lost cause due to the seeds but also the sooty mould worsened on those. I had to cut early.
SMELL 8/10 -It smelled of mango and tropical fruits during flowering. The smell was very subtle though, you had to get close; at least it was stealthy in that sense. Once drying and cured, it smells of fruity pebbles, really nice actually.
TASTE 6/10 - Tried on the vaporizer and for some reason didn't get much taste and nothing lingered.
BUD APPEAL 6/10 - Trichomes were very tiny and covering only 1/4 of leaves, also took forever to mature. Buds are a bit airy.
EFFECTS 3/10 - This was a nightmare, after curing for 12 days, I vaporized this with my new girlfriend: I didn't feel anything good, except confusion which then turned into focusing on negative stuff which ended up in me and my girlfriend having a terrible time which has somehow damaged our relation, TALKING ABOUT LOVE POTION! Sure, it might be blamed on the setting, or emotions at the time, but actually, everything was just OK before vaporizing this bud. Clearly, there was paranoia involved, and this morning, I feel sort of hangoverish as in my body is experiencing anxiety and a racy feeling. So sure, I had to cut early BUT I blame on the breeder many problems:
Poor germination rate, took forever to flower which might have to do to the hermaphroditism it went through (roderalization), but then I read in other forums that some people were experiencing the same with this and other strains. Others say Flash Seeds have lots of germination issues, and many strains don't really behave like autos, in other words, not good stabilization. The effects were also not strong at all but it went straight to paranoia. All in all just terrible. I have so many seeds and I feel tempted to grow them on hydro or organic and see the difference.
