My first ever grow! Off to a rough start after a disastrous incident with a jiffy pellet during germination. Ended up doing an emergency transplant into a 2l pot way sooner than I would have liked. I feel like that may have traumatized her for a few days, but that could also just be beginner nerves. Didn’t expect this to be so stressful already!

Week 2 of vegging, and I’ve started nutes. Another small disaster with me misreading the nutrient schedule and giving her too much of both Grow and Bloom nutrients! Eventually sorted that out and got her back on a regular schedule, doesn’t seem to have caused any problems... Not visibly at least. Also topped her at the end of the week, as you can see in my last photo!

Hey fellows growers! A bit late with my week 3 update due to all the 420 celebrations last weekend, hope it was a great 420 for you guys too! Anyway, topping has gone better than I expected, she’s recovered pretty well, and new growth on all the new shoots have just exploded since then! In fact it went so well, I felt confident enough to transplant her into her new (final?) 3 gallon home. I think the timing was just right too, her roots were just about hitting the sides of the little 2l starter pot. Also started upping the nutes slightly toward the end of the week, and she seems pretty happy so far. Hopefully going to start training next week, I can’t wait!

Week 4, and what a great week it was! Almost don't even recognize my plant anymore.. She seems to have been pretty happy after the transplant last week, but I realized I probably shouldn't have upped my nutes at the same time I put her in the fresh soil. Ended up with a bit of nutrient burn as you can see in the last few photos. I knew it was going to be inevitable, but I still fee terrible nonetheless :( LST also began in the last 2 days of the week, and growth really has just exploded after that! I was kind of hoping the tiny new stems growing at the bottom in the 9th photo would get more light and speed up a bit, but as you see, the other growth just never gave it a chance. I'm getting to the stage where I'm not too sure what to do next - I have my homemade SCROG net ready to go, but I'm not sure if I should just grow her out a little more and start scrogging, or maybe top her one more time before I do. This is still my first grow, so I don't want to go too crazy, and I'd also like to get into flower in the next 3 weeks max. Any suggestions? Happy Growing friends!

Hi guys! So week 5, and I’ve decided it’s going to be the last week of veg. I had to take in a homeless, monstercropped, Granddaddy Purple clone, and I’ve decided to put them both into flower next week just in case my tiny tent doesn’t cut it. Also finally got myself a temp and humidity sensor - a bit worried that it may be getting too hot during the day (close to 30C), but otherwise it’s still in range for veg. I currently have my extractor fan on low, so I’m hoping both humidity and temp go down enough when I crank it up during flowering. Anyway, not much to report this week, going to be scrogging and going into flower this week, so that’s when the real fun begins I suppose :) Happy growing everyone!

So into flower we go for week 6, and it’s been pretty great so far! This really is the most fun phase for me so far, with all the tucking and adjusting going on. And the quick growth is really satisfying to watch too :) Started off slow on the bloom nutrients, half strength at the moment, I think I’ll up it when I see pre-flowers. But so far so good I think? I did manage to snap a stem unfortunately:( It was pretty bad, and I don’t see any hope of it surviving, but I duct taped it either way - I might just be underestimating this plant. You can also see the monstercropped Granddaddy Purple clone in the last pic - she’s been doing pretty well so far also. I wasn’t planning on having another plant in this tent, and even though she was forced into flower and the scrog net a bit early I think, there’s still some nice growth at the end of this week. It’s been really interesting watching the growth of a monstercropped plant though! Never thought I’d get the opportunity to look after one as my first grow! That’s it for this week, happy growing!

Week 7, the second week of flowering, and I couldn’t have asked for more! The screen is looking nice and full by the end of the week, and I think I’ve managed to keep the canopy more or less the same height. The OG Kush was looking quite strong and pre-flowers has begun so I upped the bloom nutes to 1ml, 1.5 by the end of the week. I’m done with the tucking now, and just doing some lst on some of the taller stems to keep things even. Time to let this beautiful plant just grow out for the rest of the stretch and start making some buds! Another plus, the broken stem from last week has completely forgotten that it was barely hanging together by a thread and has now caught up with the rest of the canopy. I’m still scared to remove the duct tape, but I’m amazed how this plant has kept going, I almost considered using the stem for a clone a few times but I’m glad I left it. It was literally holding together by a tiny bit of skin alone - amazing! One weird thing, roots have begun to show up above the soil. I’ve re-covered them a few times, but it’s almost like they’re creeping up? Is that just the way the stems grow? You can also see the monstercropped gdp clone again! That little plant has also created a nice little canopy for itself and completely covered its side of the tent. I’m amazed how bushy it is, and how many bud sites it has without doing a thing (besides the scrog net). I suppose that’s the power of re-vegging? Thanks for following along guys! Happy growing!

End of week 8, week 3 of flower, and I think the stretch is finally over. I think it’s also safe to say it’s gone very well! It’s hard to believe that only the 2 main tops were touching the net when I flipped to 12/12, but now almost every stem is at least 12cm above the net! This OG Kush has grown at least 3 times in size since the switch - I almost can’t believe it. Looks like I’ve just about made it for space with the 2 plants, but I can see the growth on the outside of the tent not doing as well as the center. But hey, it’s worth it to get to see the monstercropped GDP in action! I’ve been upping the nutes gradually as well this week, up to 3ml’s of bloom by the end, kept everything else the same though. Also cranked up the extractor fan and got the humidity down to 40% during the day. It is still climbing to the 50s during the night period, but I do have good airflow going throughout- should I be concerned about this? Buds are finally starting to show well now, and I can’t wait to watch them start fattening up :) The GDP monstercropped clone is also doing phenomenally! Although it’s not as tall as the OG Kush, the amount of well formed bud sites is crazy for the size it was before going into flower. Monstercropping is definitely something I’ll have to try myself in the future! That’s it for the week, and the stretch I think. It’s been wonderful to watch, and I hope you guys enjoy sharing in it as well! Happy growing!

On to week 9 of my grow, and week 4 of flower, and probably my most stressful week so far! The majority of the stretch seems to be over after last weeks crazy growth spurt, so I decided to do a fairly extensive defoliation at the start of the week (especially since I have 2 plants to compare now!) I then spent the next few hours panicking that I went too far, but by the end of the week, I think it’s gone quite well. Immediately after defoliation, I noticed quite a few weak stems that were barely able to stand up by themselves - it seems like the fan leaves were keeping them in place. But even the next day, these stems had strengthened at started producing decently sized buds, and by the end of the week, I have a lot more viable tops to work with. One of the stems has even stretched to become the biggest on the whole plant! Saying that, I have noticed some of the bud sites where I removed a fan leaf aren’t doing as well as some that were left alone. It’s not 100% correlation though, so I’ll just have to hope the net effect works in my favor - I’m confident so far though. What I have seen, is that the bud growth on the gdp clone has been as expected, but the OG Kush, after defoliation, has overtaken it by the end of the week (and it’s been lagging behind since the switch to flower). Other than that, it’s been another good week, starting to get some nice aromas coming through when I open up the tent now! Also finally getting to see some frosty buds, so the excitement is picking up! The GDP clone is also doing quite well, I’ve left it alone for the most part, but I am worried the OG Kush is beginning to block some of the light to her bud sites. I’ll see if I can do some maneuvering this week. That’s it for now, happy growing!

Hello fellow growers! Week 10 of my grow, and week 5 of flower is complete, and it’s been another good week for my OG Kush. After the previous weeks defoliation, this week has been a little boring almost.. I basically left the plants alone to start filling out, and fill out they have! All my concerns about some of the defoliated bud sites have disappeared now, growth has exploded this week and all bud sites are looking quite even and full. If anything, I might just remove some more bigger fan leave at the end of this week as well. Also decided to move my light around a bit this week - since getting the GDP clone, the OG Kush hasn’t been centered under the light, so some of the growth at the edge of the tent hasn’t been as good. The GDP is getting even less light now, but it’s already so overshadowed by the OG, I figured I’d just focus on her at this stage of the grow. Not much else to report this week, nutes have pretty much stayed the same, temp and humidity are ok for now. I might be upping the bloom nutes this week, but I’ll see how it goes. Oh! And the smell is getting even better now! Glad I got that carbon filter.. Happy growing everyone!

Hi folks! Just finished with week 11 of my grow, and week 6 of flower! According to the info, these seeds should be ready by the end of week 8 of flower, but it seems like most people give them an extra week, so I won’t start flushing anytime soon. But that’s does mean I'm inside 3 weeks of harvest :) Loving the bud growth this week, and the smell even more! I can finally start getting the piney smell coming through, no lime yet though, just the beautiful color. Had an issue with a power failure during the week. It only lasted 2 hours, and I managed to get a decent LED torch in the tent during the outage - but electricity can be a problem in my country so I hope this isn’t a regular thing this winter. It has been before :( I decided to get rid of a few more fan leaves this week - nothing too drastic, just the ones that were directly interfering with bud sites. Honestly, the plant seems happier now I think. I’ve learnt this plant can get overly bushy very quickly when you don’t keep an eye on it. Lastly, the GDP is moving along nicely, even though the OG Kush has completely crowded it out. Interestingly, the buds seem much further along on her - a lot of orange pistils. I may have to harvest her first. On that note, should I remove my net? it isn’t really providing any support at the moment, it’s more just providing resistance to a few stems. But is it worth it at this stage? It would make watering easier without it.. That’s it for week 11, Happy growing!

Hi guys! Week 12 of the grow, and week 7 of flower done! This has been a bit of a hectic week for me, had to go to hospital during the week unfortunately, but at least I got to come back to 2 happy, healthy plants! Luckily the temps weren’t too hot this week, so I got away without watering with no problems. According to Dinafem, flowering time for this strain is 8 weeks, but she looks like she could probably go another 2 weeks maybe? I was going to flush for a week, so I probably won’t start yet, I’ll see how things go.. Included some extra pics this week of the GDP clone - it seems she’s really matured while I wasn’t looking! In fact I’m a little concerned that I probably should have started flushing with her already. Unfortunately my loupe has turned out to be pretty bad, and my phone isn’t much better, so I’m struggling with trichomes. The pistils actually look like I should be harvesting already to me, but I genuinely have no idea! I’ll post a grow question soon, but if anyone reads this, i would really appreciate the help! That’s it for now, not too much to report with everything that’s been going on, but I think think I’m still on track for harvest. Thanks, and happy growing!

I’m currently at week 7 flower, using biobizz nutes, and wondering when I should be flushing? People say a week? Problem is my GDP clone looks a little further along, and I’m struggling to see the trichomes with my cheap loupe. I’m worried I’m already in the harvest window :(

GDP is ready for flush , but by those green leaves full of N she might need 2 weeks to fade... Cut the nootz for OG , let it use the nootz in the soil for another week then give it a good flush before the final week . Do not harvest your plants green like that or it's gonna be harsh to smoke

Hi guys! Wow a very late update for the previous week 13 (and week 8 of flower). Unfortunately I’ve had another crazy week, and I’ve definitely been neglecting the ladies recently. Luckily though, I took the advice from last week and started flushing on both my plants (a bit more aggressively with the GDP since I plan to harvest at the end of this week). The GDP has barely faded so far, but hopefully by Saturday it’s a decent harvest. So that said, I think my OG Kush will be finishing pretty much as best as I could have hoped for! No pics of the GDP this week unfortunately, I think seeing her next to my OG really brings out the darker color of the OG buds even more, and I have to say, the OG buds are some of the most interesting and beautiful buds I’ve ever seen! So considering I’ve cut all my nutes except for the microbes, it’s been a fairly “boring” week. Though It has allowed me just sit back and appreciate this beautiful plant! She smells absolutely amazing now - I love opening up the tent at different times of the light cycle, you always seem to pick up different accents at different times. Definitely been getting that great lime smell, but now I can get the exact scent of pine air freshener! It’s amazing! I do love the sweet almost fruity GDP smell as well, but the complexity of the smell and look of the OG Kush has definitely won me over! So glad I went with these seeds, and I can’t wait to harvest and smoke her! As always, Happy growing!

Hi Grow Diaries! This is it! I’ve come to the end of my grow, week 14, and week 9 of flower. Any questions I had about leaving the OG kush a little longer, or harvesting the GDP now were answered! Unfortunately the answer came because I spotted some spots of PM on the OG kush :( If you look closely at the the last few photos with the flash on, you can see a few white spots on some of the leaves. I immediately went through and removed all of them, double checked ALL the buds, checked the GDP too, and was pretty sure there wasn’t anything left on the OG, and the GDP was thankfully clean! I heard that apparently the clone came from a pheno that survived a PM outbreak last season, so maybe she never got it. But with that said, and after 2 weeks flushing both the girls, I decided it would be safer to harvest them now and dry them separately so I can monitor for any more PM growth.. or bud rot.. when does it end! Lol So that’s the last of the weekly updates from me. It’s been an amazing journey, thank you to everyone in this community for the awesome advice and inspiration! My next update will be for the harvest - I honestly have no idea what to expect, but either way I’m proud of what these plants have managed to do under some of these conditions. Also thought I’d take the girls outside in the sun one last time, to see the real outdoors! I think they really look more beautiful in the sun out there! Happy growing!

Happy Harvest Day!

I remember worrying about harvesting too early, possibly having some residual PM, not letting it dry enough, and even more right up until the point I exhaled my first bowl.. And then, none of it mattered. Especially as you breath out the smoke/vapor, the fresh pine tase leaves you with this great aftertaste, almost minty fresh. And the same can be said about the high! I’ve been smoking some really great strains recently, but for my first grow I wanted something that could be truly special, and I’d say Dinafem have delivered. The high really does feel fresh and almost euphoric (that might just be me :) but I’d say you’ll certainly be left uplifted. But strangely, at the same time, I was probably more stoned than I’ve been in quite a while! I’d compare it more to smoking oil in intensity, and also the way it builds up on you over the next few minutes. It’s a very strange feeling being that baked, but also feeling so clear headed and fresh, but I absolutely love it! As it wears off, you’re left with a deep sense of relaxation, it’s really been helping with some of my pain. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve cured enough to really get the great lime and diesel smells, but you certainly get the taste of those! Overall very impressed with Dinafems OG Kush, it lived up to my expectations and more. Very glad I went with these seeds!

And so it ends! My first ever grow. What a ride this has been! Especially with medical issues I’ve had recently, it feels like I really have gone through a journey with these plants. And my harvest also just happened to coincide with me finally getting better and out of the woods! I really didn’t expect much when I started out here - I just happened to browse across a special online for a full grow tent kit, that was basically all I needed to start growing, and I decided to just jump in right there without knowing much else. I did eventually try and learn as much as I could before the seeds arrived, but it was still pretty nerve racking! I think I eventually got a lot more comfortable with my plant, and decided to experiment with pretty much everything I could. So a bit of LST, topping, a lot of defoliation, and my first DIY scrog net. It was also a very short grow, so I never really got to try enough of each method to truly get the benefits, but I definitely reached my main goal of learning as much as I could! I think I have a fairly good idea of how my next grow timeline will go, and just knowing that makes me excited! My light was also not the greatest, but I’m actually very impressed with what I ended up with from a free 300w dual spectrum CFL. The OG Kush especially demonstrated the lack of penetration from the CFL - I’m definitely going with either an LED or Cob next grow. In fact, I’m so hooked, I’ve decided to rip out the entire cupboard my grow tent is housed in, and rebuild a multi chamber veg/clone/flower hybrid lighting system, so I can constantly rotate plants and get a few clones going. And more importantly, sort out my ventilation and current cramped conditions of the equipment. In the end, after learning as much as I could (even how to make some honeycomb bho :), I was left with 3 goals to reach that I added along the way. 1. Successfully reach the end of my first harvest - definitely got there :) 2. Fill up 3 of the little glass jars you see in my pics - they usually hold about 10g, so I was hoping for 30g basically. Ended up with 20g of OG kush and 9g of GDP, and I was also very liberal with what I called popcorn buds, so enough trim to get me 2g of honeycomb extract. And by shear volume, I could have filled up 4 jars, so another goal reached :) 3. And as a last, final, completely out there goal - grow some of, if not the best weed I’ve ever smoked. I specifically got these seeds based on the strains reputation and specifically the reviews for the Dinafem strain, and I’ve never smoked OG Kush before, so I had hope.. It’s still too soon to call, I’d need to give it a much longer cure, but if you read my strain review above, I think this could just be the one! So that’s it for now, might be a while till my next diary because I’m going a bit mad scientist with my grow space first. But I’ll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone who helped me and just gave me such great encouragement and support! Happy growing!

First grow ? If you wanna a good tip, just take particular care by the end of flowering, when the buds swell, to humidity. 35% RH or even lower is highly recommended.

So after a bit of research, I'm wondering if my "nute burn" is actually PH fluctuations? The tips themselves are actually unaffected, and the pattern seems to match up more with the PH fluctuations. Just curious at this point - it would make sense, since I'm not actively managing PH this grow, I'm relying on a mix of microbes and organic nutes to maintain their ideal soil PH. Also only noticed this after the transplant, so I would guess the "fresh" soil in this case would definitely be causing fluctuations at the beginning of the transplant. Anyone?

@bobo420, Heh, well I suppose it’s barely noticeable in the photos, but if you look at the last 3 or so, there’s a few, almost golden spots on some of the leaves on the left side. I’m not really concerned, but like I said, I’m just curious about every little change I see on my plant now :)

@Rubob, I know dude.. why are we stuck with these fools! I lost another 3 hours of light on Saturday again. I'd change my day/night schedule, but it looks like this time they're just making up the "loadshedding schedule" as they go. I really hope I make it to harvest :(
