Poison is the Antidote

Hey Growmies! We're glad to be back after another short break and like most of you, we're hoping 2021 is going to be a much better year in general than 2020 was. We're doing a few things differently for this grow, looking forward to learning and having you all along for the ride! This grow will mainly be managed by the female half of "VanCplGrows". I will be keeping up the diary and will be assisting with the overall grow but she will be taking care of the day-to-day stuff. For this grow, we've decided to run Sweet Seeds' "Green Poison F1 Fast" variety... a photoperiod strain (rather than the autos that we've been doing up until now). We're hoping this will give us more time to work with any challenges that may arise during the vegetative phase. We're also hoping to try our hand at some mainlining/manifolding techniques, although we'll determine that as we start getting into the veg phase. A quick shout-out to the Sweet Seeds team as well. These seeds were complimentary, prizes from our 2nd place win of the Sweet Seeds Spring Cup contest. We're hoping for a successful run but regardless of our end result, we always enjoy the journey and we hope that you guys find some value, entertainment and even a laugh or two along the way with us. Hop on board, hit the follow button and let's get this thing started! x-----x-----x-----x-----x-----x-----x-----x Soil Prep: - We prepped up two batches of soil, one small batch for the seedling phase and one larger batch for the later veg & flower stages. For the seedling mix, we used: 40% BlueSky Organics "Super Soil" 50% Dutch Treat Starter Mix 8% Perlite 2% Garden compost soil (a handful) 1 tbsp RAW Microbes - Veg 1 tbsp RAW Microbes - Bloom For the later veg/flower mix, we used: 70% BlueSky Organics "Super Soil" 20% Dutch Treat Starter Mix 8% Perlite 2% Garden compost soil (couple of handfuls) 2 tbsp RAW Microbes - Veg 3 tbsp RAW Microbes - Bloom Germination Day 1: - soaked 2 seeds in distilled water for 12 hours - jar of water was placed on a heat mat, set to 30 degrees Celsius Germination Day 2: - transferred seeds to wet paper towel on plate - heat mat set to 30 degrees Celsius Germination Day 3 - both seeds showing 1/4" to 1/2" of tap root - transferred to small (5"?) pots with the seedling soil mix - watered lightly with distilled water - covered pots with humidity domes and placed pots in seedling tray on top of heat mat. - turned on the 2 Sunblaster LED strips, mounted at approximately 3-4ft - turned on the HLG Elite 360 fixture, set to approximately 10% intensity and mounted at approximately 48" - inside tent temperature approximately 74C.
