They Still Call Me Bruce.............. original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 2nd February 2021 Hey all 😀 So at about the start of this past week I decided to try something different. What did I do ???? I topped and removed the 2 fan leaves on all 3 plants at about the 3rd node 😬 The result you can see above may have stunted them?? but the two that are left are growing out the new tops already. The third plant started to sprout both fem pistils and male pollen sacs AKA Hermie. 😞 whether or not this was genetic or caused by my interference it doesn't really matter as it got pulled immediately. However I will keep an extra eye on the remaining two incase it is a genetic problem. No feeding needed this week just a small amount of Great white mycorrhizae Cheers for stopping by 👍

More than likely it will be the smaller of the two but if the bigger one flowers faster than the other then It will be chosen instead. Trying to keep everything organic and budget friendly so only worm castings tea and mycorrhizae this week . Thats about it for this weeks update thankyou for stopping by 👍

Original sensible seeds Bruce Banner auto 18th February 2021 Ok so Plant 1 in the above pics is in flower and will be the one to recieve any feminised pollen I get from Plant 2. Which I have now sprayed twice with STS Solution . For those who don't already know what STS is I'll do a quick run down STS stands for Silver Thiosulphate Solution . The Solution is a precise mix of sodium thiosulphate and Silver Nitrate mixed with Distilled water. I wont go into the full mixing instructions but basically once mixed properly you can spray a female plant and force it to reverse it's sex and produce feminised pollen. That pollen then can be used to pollinate another female plant and produce "Feminised" Seeds. So now that plant 2 has had two sprays with the STS over a three day period It's now just a waiting game for the plant to begin producing the Feminised pollen I will collect and use to pollinate plant 1 😎 Thats all for this weeks update ,, Thanks for stopping by 👍

They Still Call Me Bruce................. original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 24th February 2021 Things are moving along swiftly for these two 😎 Plant number 1 has stretched a bit and is well and truly into flower mode and Plant number two is just about to start popping out feminised male pollen sacs. 👌 I can see the tiny little sacs forming within the female pistils so in aproximatey 7-14 days I'll have pollen to collect and it will go straight onto plant number 1 to make some feminised auto flowering Bruce Banner seeds. Now the last thing I want is this pollen to invade any of my other Canna plants so it will soon be transferred "out Bush" so that it can continue to develop without pollinating any of the plants I do not want pollinated. They Still Call Me Bruce original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 3rd March 2021 These are running right on schedule 😀 💪 Plant one is ready to be pollinated and plant two is just about ready to Fulfill her Wishes 👉👌 The pollen sacs are clearly visible in the above pics and are starting to swell up before they will eventually burst and "Open" pollinate the other girl . Due to some rain coming I elected to move both the plants into a grow tent on their own until the job is done. I'm also hoping to collect a bit of extra pollen to be used at some other time. So as you can see the STS solution I made a few weeks ago , works Fast and works Well 👌 Cheers for stopping by 👍

They Still Call Me Bruce........ original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 11th March 2021 They are both showing signs of exhaustion from the 24 hour schedule I've had them on , so Ive set a timer on the Mars TS1000 so that they get 6 hours of Rest . It's not the pollen producer that I'm worried about it's the the one that I want the seeds from that will need to remain healthy for weeks to come to produce healthy viable seeds. I've also given them both some Superthrive @1ml to 3Litres of water 👊 Thankyou for stopping by 👍

Bruce Banner Auto STS Fem Seed Run original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 25th March 2021 The main plant has been successfully pollinated 😀 💪 I can see seedpods forming I'll now leave it for another 4 weeks or so until the seeds are mature and ready for harvest . The other plant that I treated with the STS solution was supposed to be pulled up once I had finished with the pollen however I got a nice surprise when I saw that several of the lower buds that had obviously received less STS solution than the upper ones so they became pollinated from themselves so to speak . This means that I will have two lots of fem seeds one lot selfed from the same plant and another lot made from crossing two plants of the same strain , I wonder which will be better?? Both the plants will produce seeds , not heaps but definately enough to grow out a few to Test 😀 Thanks for stopping by 👍

Bruce Banner Auto STS Fem Seed Run original sensible seeds bruce banner auto 10th April 2021 R.I.P Prince Phillip 1921-2021 Well the plant I pollinated with the pollen taken from the plant I reversed has been chopped , dried and sorted for seeds. All up I found 30 but of those I only kept about 16 as the others looked pale and soft so they were chucked. Of the 16 I have got 1 currently in the process of germination just to see that they will sprout and the rest once dry will be put in the fridge until I'm ready to grow them out . 😎 The buds that were left after I removed the seeds had a smell that was similar to Dead Ants 😆 😳 It smokes up okay but it's gone into the freezer to be used to make some bubble hash one day when It gets colder here. The other plant is still going and will be chopped down as soon as the seeds look ready. these will be the s1's that are self pollinated and will be kept separate from the other seeds . 👊 What have I learned thruout this grow?? Firstly I have learnt that you need to be patient when waiting for both the STS to do it's thing and for the seeds themselves to mature. After you first see pollen sacs forming , it will be atleast another week or two before any pollen will be available . Most importantly I learnt that when making feminized seeds using the STS solution method , to achieve high seed numbers you will need to treat multiple plants to make enough pollen , because these artificially produced pollen sacs do not make nearly as much pollen as a regular Male Plant would. But in this instance high seed numbers were not my goal , All I wanted to do was produce some fem auto's to play around with and test my skills in Breeding in general.
