Had a hell of a time with the runtz, definitely a thirsty plant. Transplanting went well, mixed a pound of natures living soil with 1/3 fox farm and mix together then top the rest with fox farm. Living soil definitely smells like shit and will stink up the entire area for days on end. These are photos BTW not autoflowering
Both Runtz and Purp recovered great from transplanting. A week or so has passed so I began some LST with the main stem and within a few hrs she started to point back up so that's a great sign for both plants. The 5th node is there but not very significant to top yet so I'll hold off on topping for a few more days to monitor it.
Did some more LST with both the Purp and Runtz muffin and topped them both. Gave them both some Azos and molasses in the water after topping and the 2 new main colas are growing on nicely. The Runtz will definitely be tied down since she could be almost a foot tall by now but I bent the main stem to manage the height in my 5ft tall tent. The Purp looks like it will just be short and bushy lol its also bent at the stem but its just getting fluffy with leaves. I gave them some CalMag today (roots organic) and will top them again and begin the ScroG once the branches allows. This by the way are my absolute FIRST grow of any plant whatsoever 😂
They're coming along nicely, only using organic soil and roots organic CalMag. Today I introduced Ph club soda with the CalMag. Was able to finally do some real training to both plants and didn't break anything this week thank god. Today is actually the beginning of the 3rd week of veg, i would like to go to 6 weeks if the Runtz allows me too. Its about a ft heigh now but actually 8.5" BC I bent the main stem weeks ago trying to control the height.
Did some definition this week, the Purp was getting very bushy. The canopy is starting to fill in pretty nice and its officially week 4 of veg. The runtz is over a foot tall and its actually taller but I bent the main stem back in the 2nd or 3rd weeks after planting. The runtz is fed almost every day now (1-1.5L) while the GDP is comfortable with water every 2-3 days (1L). Letting the side branches grow up now to meet the SCROG and will flip them in another 2 weeks. The 90 degree bends I use are very useful, once the plant augments back upward simple remove the bend from the previous location and bend it again so it goes East and West. I have not used my plant ties yet and don't think I need it
The runtz will probably outgrow my current tent. As of today 3/4/21 its over 2ft and my tent height is 5ft with the filter inside, push comes to shove I'll simply move the filter outside. I've dropped the humidity to the low 40's - high 30's and the smell is still very faint for now.
@GanjaBianca, I'll try and post more but its seems very thirsty and temperamental about 2-3hrs before lights out the leaves droop then when I check them at lights on its all perky again
I've seen em cut a flap at the top of the tent and raise the light, 😄 lookin good! GL 🤙
Another cool method to get them opened up and even, I poke holes on the side of the pot and tie down each individual branch with pipe cleaners. And when they're tall I use foot long wood skewers for leverage.
@Kloud9gardenz, 1st world problem for sure 😆 hate it when my plants are to big. I did, I turned my inline fan around to blow through the filter now instead of having it taking up space inside the tent I have my filter in the attic. I just started growing in October for the first time and I definitely learned a lot of what not to do too 😄 happy growing!
@Thumbnail83, yeah I definitely didn't LST this the way I should've but its a learning experience. I've got the lights at the max height in the 4x2x5 and the plant has stretched to 2ft tall. I'm praying it stops stretching otherwise I'll have to move the filter outside of the tent for more space
@DTaro, i like them tbh, I have the ties and never had to use it BC with the bends you just keep bending the branch as far as you want it to go then let it grow up. I'm uploading the new photos soon it should give a better view
