OK this week was a little tough. I think I nearly killed them. I was not paying attention to PH of my water so I got some up and down so I could PH my water. The bottles give no indication of how much to add, since I was mixing up a gallon of water and starting with 8.4PH water I would splash some in. Bad idea, that caused PH to plummet to sub 4. So what did I do?? I of course splashed some of the UP into the pot, now it was back above 8. Then I decided I might want to be a little more measured with the dosing so I grabbed a straw to use as a pipette and added drops at a time. I eventually got the water back down to 6 and watered. Fast forward a few days and my plants have been drooping. Was not sure why. I was not over or under watering. Thinking the likely culprit is that water with a ton of PH up and down in it, I decided at the end of week 2 to flush with DI water and repot a little early in the 3 gal smart pots.
When limiting my primary nutrients, (Canna Terra Flora) to prevent overfeeding, should I also limit the secondary nutrients (Rhizotonic, Cannazym, Canna Boost) or feed those per the Canna schedule each time I water? I currently only use them when I feed on every 2nd or 3rd water
I think its safe to remove the rhizo. Definitwlt continue the Flores because it also contained the trace elements needed. Keep the zyme and boost are entirely up to you, perhaps only using them once per weeks would be good. But I think it'll be alright to remove them soon, unless you choose otherwise. Did I see a small amount of yellowed leaves on the back left plant on the very bottom? If so you may want some cal mag in there or it may be that one received a slightly higher dose than the others did, or needs a good flush.
Best of luck the plants look pretty dang good thus far. Congrats on making it into flowering.
This one was a bit rough. I thought the purpling was a bad thing, a symptom of phosphorous deficiency. I count this as a success, I got a big enough yield to make through the next grow. :)
Thanks for the info, I knew about the trichomes but I had no idea the buds fatten up that much at the end. I harvested when they are about 80% cloudy, I wanted the strains to lean a bit to heady side. Maybe another week would have given me more yield with no major change in the trics.
Thanks for the advice, I am battling the rise in temps during the day now that summer is coming. I have been dreading putting an AC in that room, but I might have to.
next time flower at least 9 weeks for most strains, theres a handfull that are 60 days which is still 8 and a half weeks, buds fill out the most the last 2 weeks, up to 33%, and I veg for 5 weeks, but thats up to the grower, just make sure you flower as long as the strain says and.. youll get the full buds remember AMBER trichomes for stones cloudy trichomes for psychedelic.. but at least let them get cloudy.. but a good general rule is go the flowering time the seed bank suggests.. if you dont know the seed bank, do research on the strain and use the average flowering time.. hope you get some Chronic next time,, good luck
Looking good! They'd probably appreciate a few C drop in peak temperatures, especially as the grow goes on. They get all sensitive.
They're really healthy and I think you're going to be quite happy =)
